Chapters
Hi everyone! I just wanted to take a minute to let you know that I have completed my 3-part ECG interpretation for NCLEX series on my blog. So if you need to refresh yourself on how to read telemetry strips, how to identify the rhythms and the interventions necessary to meet your patient's needs, please visit thenursespeak.com/blog and you'll see my latest, the 3rd edition to the series, posted on my blog. Within that article, you'll be able to link to all of the other articles, Part 1 and Part 2. I highly recommend that you review these so that you have a leg up on ECG interpretation. Over the years, I've had lots of clients struggle with ECG interpretation while they're doing practice questions and even when they've had unsuccessful attempts on the NCLEX. So I highly recommend that you check these articles out. Part 1 will help you to lay down the basics to get an understanding of what ECGs are, the individual components in the waves, so that you know what you're looking at. Part 2 will help you with measurements. It will help you understand the definitions, how much a PR interval has to be, how much a QRS complex should be, what a normal rate is, how to measure on the ECG strips, the paper, each square. It gives you everything you need to know to measure ECG strips. And then part 3 goes into specific rhythms. So it shows you what the rhythms look like, it gives you the definitions of the rhythms, and then also provides you with interventions necessary to meet the needs of your patients. So I hope you find this very helpful. Please leave a comment, let me know what you think, and I look forward to helping you or someone you know develop strategies for NCLEX success. Take care.
