A Cut Above Testimonial

A painter describes hiring a bookkeeping service after a bad experience with a previous bookkeeper. The provider cleaned up two years of messy records, got the books accurate again, and offered guidance through a tough period. The customer found them through BTA and now recommends them to other trades.
How did you hear about, about us?
Yeah, I heard about Online Bookkeep— well, Bookkeeping for Painters it was called at the time— through BTA, which is a professional organization that I'm a part of.
Excellent. When you first heard about us, were you skeptical about our services?
I was skeptical about bookkeeping services in general because I had a really bad experience with my previous bookkeeper. That being said, because you guys were vouched for by BTA, I was less skeptical about you guys than some of the other bookkeepers that I had interviewed about potentially working with.
What was the state of your bookkeeping and accounting experience before you worked with us?
It was very poor. Our, our previous bookkeeper just— I think they were a smaller firm and they were overloaded, and so our books were not being kept up with. Additionally, just internally, we had a lot to figure out that was making our books a mess. So it was in a— our previous experience was not great, and our books were in a really bad place. Place when we came on with you guys.
Okay. After you signed up with us, what specific results have you gotten?
Uh, the first thing, and probably one of the biggest things, was cleaning up the previous 2 years' books. Um, so that was just a huge weight off our shoulders because we were able to close out the previous 2 years that should have been closed out by our, our head initial bookkeeper but weren't. So that was a big weight off my shoulders personally. And then just getting our books and our business back on track. It's been nice to have someone to kind of bounce some things off of in a fairly difficult time for us during the last couple of years. So it's been nice to kind of turn that around and that's been sort through just having accurate books and accurate, like knowing where we're at, an accurate picture of where we're at, which we didn't have before.
Good. And last but not least, who would you recommend us to?
Definitely to other trades businesses. I think it helps to have someone who understands the benchmarks that we're going after within the trades space. So yeah, I would say just any sort of trades business that's looking.
