Bringing on a production manager, you're assuming you're not going to be stagnant. You assume you're going to grow because your time is going to be freed up now to do sales and marketing, to work on expanding, work on hiring, work on recruiting. You need to have those goals in mind and the discipline that when your time does get freed up with this production manager, that you don't go sit on your cell phone in your truck. You actually use that time effectively to do valuable activity. Like, you're doing 10 estimates a week now with the production manager, you should be doing 25. You're doing 3 hours of recruiting a week right now, okay, with a production manager you should be doing 8. Fill your time with the most valuable activities and don't just use your free time now to go work out for 3 hours a day.
It's funny, but I've definitely been at fault for this. You finally get the key hire in a certain role, and then now you kind of don't know what you do with yourself. That's definitely an issue.
I have a coach I meet with every single week. We actually built a one-on-one coaching program at Painter Growth for those people who are at that $500K, $700K a year. They just like what to do with their time. They need that clarity, they need that accountability and guidance. If you've never had a coach before, you should definitely try it. It's pretty magical what can happen.
