Painting crew leads get a budgeted hour count per project. If they finish in fewer hours, they split the savings with the company as a bonus, usually 30 to 70 percent of hours saved. This covers the cost of tracking the system.
Chapters
Painter Performance Pay system, first step is you, you have to provide the budgeted hours to your crew lead so they know what the expectation is for this project. You set the expectation, you know, hey, here are the budget hours. Expectation is that you beat the budget hours in order to be eligible for the bonus. What you'd want to do is pay them a portion of the labor saved on the project. So if it's budgeted for 100 hours and they do it in 80 hours, they saved 20 hours of labor on that project. If you're running a program like this, you generally don't want to do the full 20 hours paid out to them as a bonus because there is some administrative cost to running a program like this. You have to track of it, do the job costing. So there's some admin burden in this for sure. So you'll need to determine a percentage of what you would want to pay them out as a bonus. Somewhere between 30% and 70% is what I, I generally see.
