Carl Veitch's advice: argue like you're right and listen like you're wrong. Ask questions, admit mistakes, and give credit to others. Research shows that crediting others benefits both of you.

How do you balance being humble and confident? This is actually a really good question, and in some ways it's a secret to life. I'm gonna give you 3 ideas. Number one, ask questions. Be curious. That's a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness. Second, admit your mistakes. Once again, that's a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness. And finally, give credit. There's plenty of research that shows when we give credit, it helps the other person, but it also helps ourself. There's also a great line from maybe 40 years ago from Carl Veitch who said that the secret of life is to argue like you're right and listen like you're wrong. And I think that is a great way to be both humble and confident.
