Write one line each night in a notebook and keep it for five years. It signals the day's end to help you sleep, gives your mind something to process overnight, and builds roughly 1,500 entries you can revisit for ideas later.

Hi everyone, welcome to another PinkCast. I'm here in my bed with a tip for something you can do as you prepare for sleep. Almost every night, I write something in this little book, one line a day. It can be a really good sentence I've read earlier that day. It could be an observation I've made or heard. It could be a question I'd like to ponder. Just about anything. It's a tiny ritual, but it does at least 3 things. First, it's a punctuation mark, a signal that the day has come to an end. That makes it easier for me to de-stress, shift my mindset, and prepare to fall asleep. Second, it offers a chance to reflect. If I scribble a thought or a question, I get to ponder it a little bit. If I write down a funny line, maybe I'll laugh and relax. If I write down a question that I'm wondering about, maybe I'll think about it when I sleep and actually answer the question when I wake up. Third, it's an amazing way to compile notes. This is a 5-year book. If I do this ritual, say, 300 times a year for 5 years, that's 1,500 good lines, smart sentences, intriguing questions, and deep thoughts That's a huge trove of material that I'm going to be able to use. So, PinkCast viewers, grab a notebook, write your nightline, and go to sleep. Thanks for watching the PinkCast.
