How the Mahmoud Brothers Built a Credit Repair Empire from SCRATCH!

Brothers Rami and Ehab Mahmoud built Goat's Credit from helping friends to a multi-six-figure credit repair company using referrals, organic social content, and Facebook ads. They use audits to close clients, reinvest ad revenue into staff, and handle disputes like collections and bankruptcies. Their drive comes from faith and honoring their late father.

Our most successful credit heroes, the ones who make a great living and make a massive impact, they never give up. They work really hard, and they stay motivated until they reach their goals. And our guests today are the brothers and owners of Goat's Credit rating, Rami and Ehab Mahmoud. They started small by helping friends, but they built their business into a huge success. They were able to quit their 9 to 5 job. They're changing a ton of lives, and they love what they do every day. So please welcome to the podcast, Rami and Ehab. Hey, guys. Welcome.
Thank you so much, Daniel. I appreciate that. Nice welcome. Thank you, Daniel.
I'm so glad you're here. You guys are on fire with your business. I want to know everything, but let's start with where did you grow up and where are you now?
So, I mean, kind of grew up all over the place. We bounced around, you know, our mom and dad always moving around while we were kids. We always lived. Born and raised in New Jersey. Okay. You know, from Haskell to Vernon. Right. Right now we're up in Vernon, New Jersey, Sussex County. That's basically where we stay. We work at home. We have a home office, and that's where we're able to produce.
What were your lives like before credit repair?
We both kind of just worked jobs. We had nine to five jobs. We both worked on nine to fives. We were very always committed, but always had an entrepreneur mindset. But we were always just working our nine to fives and always had some type of leadership background, though. Always working hard, trying to figure out that extra niche.
The entrepreneur mindset is kind of. He nailed the hat on the dot. Maybe Since I was 19, I've been trying different things. Him, himself, you know, network marketing, all tips, different sales. So we gained a lot of experience these last 10 years, you know, doing that. So all these sales, the computer, it's like he got his mind, I got my mind. We came together, and basically, you know, what you see here is what we got.
How did you both decide to start Goat's credit.
It was a tough time. My father had passed away, and when he had passed, you know, you can do two things. Either you go down the hill, put your head down, be going depressed mode and feel upset, or, hey, I gotta figure something out. And I was an older sibling. I had my brother Ehab next to me. He's only two years younger than me and a younger sister. So being older sibling, I figured, you know, I wanted to do something where I have a foundation and build something on the side where, you know, we'll be good for life. And I ended up just going on YouTube, trying to figure something out. And out of nowhere, like, while talking about some friends, your ad came up on YouTube. So in the gist of things, already trying to figure out something, I was looking at YouTube animation, and then your thing popped up on YouTube. And I was like, this is interesting. And I'm a finance guy. I like numbers. And let me click on his ad. And within a week, I think I bought the software and I started. I built myself a little office at my apartment, and I got the Credit hero challenge for 14 days.
Wow.
Yeah, I got the book. I started all that. And I was like, I'm going to go into this. And, you know, and then all of a sudden, I presented it to the Mr. Who helped me elevate the business. He's the operations. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be able to take it to where it is now. So I got it going and sent him the idea. And knowing everything he knows, he put it together, put a system in place, and the idea from there just got ran and we started building.
That's so cool. You're a real success story of the credit hero challenge.
100%. Yeah. I followed everything. The book, the guide, the script, everything you put in place. Even how to make your business a six figure, watching those videos and how to scale your business. I watched it all, and it was.
Interesting to see because I haven't really seen him grasp, you know, so much attention on one specific project or, you know, idea in a long time. So when I saw him, he presented me the idea. He's like, hey, I think we're gonna fix credit. I was like, yeah, man, that sounds great.
Let's do it.
You know, one out one year out the other. And then I saw him order the package. You know, he's got the T shirt, the Credit Hero Challenge. He's, hey, it's serious. I was like, okay. He showed me his website. I was like, all right, I think I need to step in here.
Let's see what we can do with this.
And yeah, that was all she wrote. You know, we just got together, you know, his mindset, my mindset, and we teamed up and made it happen. Know, we didn't stop.
That's amazing. And how did you find your first clients so him.
Well, actually, it was all through referrals. Like he was getting his friends involved. But our first, like, real kind of clients, outside of our friends, we. He lived in an apartment complex. It was like, I guess, Christmas season or something. So I made a bunch of flyers, went into all the apartment complex, posted them on all the mailboxes, and maybe that night we got our first client.
That's so cool. It's. People always think it's really complicated, but that was just so simple.
So simple. You just go out there and do it. Make it happen.
How did you start to get more and more clients? Like, how did you go from helping friends and the neighbors and then local businesses? How did you go from that to expanding to where you are now?
Our basis was like our own social media, our personal social media. We would just make little posts. Of course, we would tell our friends, we would tell little small businesses. But what really, really, you can say, changed the game? I. You could say, sometimes have more of a. Of a scared risk factor than my brother. My brother is more like all risk. He'll dive it all in. He doesn't matter where. Me, I'm a little bit more of a scare tactic. So I came across a guy who does social media marketing. And, you know, and where we come from and where we live here, it's a lot more expensive to enter these things, so you can pay thousands of dollars. I'm not sure what your return might be, but we came across a guy in a different country who does this, and he's like, let's take the risk, man. Let's take the chance. Let's pay him a couple hundred bucks and see what we get out of it. And I was like, are you sure? I don't want to get scammed. I don't know what we're doing. You know, he's like, let's. Let's try it. So I took my brother's word. And from there, what happened?
Basically, we started running ads on Facebook and Instagram. Right. Our marketing team lifted the whole entire project for us. They started. We just basically created the video, right? Our advertisements, him talking, you know, just showing off, you know, our results and everything. We sent that to our marketing team.
We. Right.
And they just Started basically advertising on Instagram, Facebook. And now our advertising budget would increase, you know, gradually every few months. And the more it'll increase. Right. We would take on the load of work, hire, you know, some people. Right. And then increase the budget. It's, it was always, you know, balanced. But the marketing changed the game. We started running Facebook ads and Instagram ads.
Awesome, awesome. And I saw you've got a lot of content. You make yourselves on your personal Instagrams. I want to get to that in a little bit, but first I want to know how did you scale all the way to six and then seven figures from there in such a short time? Because this is a relatively short time.
The first, you could say from about November, December of 20, year 21, we were just growing on a small pace to about that summer of 22, maybe less than 50. Like 30, 50 clients rolling a month. Nothing crazy, nothing much to quit your job or anything like that, but a great side hustle, great, nice income. When we got into the marketing over the summer, that's when we started growing. Maybe we were getting a couple leads a day. All of nowhere. Him and I started closing about four or five a day for about months straight, like maybe six months straight. So we built it to like, you know, a quarter million dollar business over the next six months. We already had quit our jobs at that point and we were like, we need help. We're getting overwhelmed. So we hired internally within people that we knew. We didn't just put in ads. Hey, we're looking for people. We wanted to make this really people that we knew and build it together. So we brought in our sales manager now, which is Angelique. It's someone we used to work with back in the day. She started getting inside the Instagram leads to help us, DM people, all the follow ups that we needed. We taught her how to close sales. Next thing you know it, we're getting another guy to train him, we're getting another person, we're getting VA's to help us do our dispute letters. Because that's getting overwhelming. As we, him and I built it, the sales were there. Now it was time to take that money and that volume and that revenue and reinvest it back into the business.
Yeah. And kind of just long story short, we worked really hard, right? Every single day, right from we would come into the office and that's what we did. That was our every seven days a week, there was nothing else to do but work.
We just work, right?
Because we knew, we knew what other people were doing. Right. We saw the videos, we watched it. All right? And so we're looking at each other, we're like, all right, we're already here. What more can we do? And we thought about it, we're like, we just have to work. Right. And that was the most exciting part about it, is because we had full control of that.
Wow. And how many clients do you have today?
We're rolling about almost 400 clients. We could be doing way more, way better. Retention is something we deal with. You know, you get clients and, you know, they don't see what they want in a first month or two, but we set expectations. They might, you know, leave or come back, but I mean, we have over 2,000 people in our system, but we can't call those all clients. You know, we have technically around 400 right now rolling. And based off where we're at this year, you know, we should definitely be able to cross our seven figure mark.
But over that time, you've processed thousands of clients.
There's over 20, I'm looking at it right now. There's over 2,896. Right. So we've had many people pay us in full. Right. We're on a payment. We have payment options. So what he said, yeah, people are on payment options.
We.
But we have a whole bunch of others in there that have already paid us in full and they're not active, you know, paying us anymore. They've already paid it off.
Sure.
And it's just growing every day.
Amazing, Amazing. So fast. Do you have any tips for staying consistent?
Successful people and unsuccessful people, they come across the same tasks. It's just I realized that successful people do it anyway, even if it's hard. Right. So nobody feels like doing anything hard or the hard work. Nobody wants to do it. It's just that success mindset will push you to go do it anyway. And that, that's the key, is just you go do it. Right. Nobody wants to take the call when it comes in, but you do it right. If they're getting 10 a day, right. You get overwhelmed, but you do it anyway because, you know, when you put your head on the pillow, you're winning. Sure.
And to piggyback off him, I would say to remember why you started the why is the inspiration. What is keeping you going every single day? What, what is your goal? What's the end term? When I have hard days or tough times or, you know, frustrated times with clients, I remember what got me, what got me started, why I'm here where I am, and I know that where we are also comes with a lot of, you know, grief or stress or problems. And it's not easy. The more money, the more problems, they say.
Out of all those clients, can you share one or a few of your most impactful success stories of a client whose life was changed by your service?
I can go about one that kind of changes the most is when you have somebody telling you that a client is sleeping in a hotel on a couch with her daughter and she's really in need of you helping her fix her credit because you can't get a home or get an apartment. And they've defiled bankruptcy. They come with me with these, these things. And the first thing we do is we set the expectation. Hey, listen, I can definitely, most certainly help you, but it's not going to happen overnight. And I want to be able to explain that because I want to build trust with them, I want to build a relationship. And I also want to make a success story out of them to tell many others about what I can do. So one of my biggest success stories would be have taken a mom with two kids who is bankrupt and sleeping in a hotel or sleeping on people's couch and help her to fix her credit within a four to six month period for her to be able to go buy a home. And now she's in a beautiful home and with her husband and family. And it really makes me happy to see that if it wasn't for the credit, she wouldn't have been able to get her house. And we had a big part to do with that with our team.
And we always, often we screenshot the text messages they send us when we post it on our Instagram. Because I tell a lot of our clients, you know how it is online, everyone's skeptical nowadays. So I tell them, look, I can help you out, but I can also show you, right? And that's what I use my Instagram as a showcase to do. Exactly. Just that. Right? And so yeah, you see the clients on our Instagram, hey, we just got approved for this. We got approved for this card and increase in this card. And that's great. They can go out, make more money or do whatever they want. We feel happy about that, right? Because we know we did our job.
What do you look for when you're hiring new talent?
Trust, loyalty, respect and the ability to do the job.
I look for that. I look for similar off ehab. I look for their attitude. I look for to see what their mindset is at their attitude. Because I've always learned something you can't. You can't train an attitude, but you can train for a skill. So we look to see how their attitude is, because we can always show them the ropes and teach them how to get better. But if their mindset's not there and they're not someone who's willing to deal with rejection or deal with a tough time, then that's all I need to know. If you're not willing to go through that, then you're not going to work out here, because this is a game that requires patience, understanding, consistency, decency, and effort put in. So that's. That's how we look at. That's what we honestly switched about hiring is. We noticed that can't just hire anybody for this. You got to really hire the people that are. They're committed, that they're going to build trust and loyalty and respect with you.
How long was it just the two of you running the business before you hired other people?
About. I want to say about a year. It was about a year.
A year and a half now.
Year and change? Yeah. A year and change.
About a year and a half. Yeah.
Wow.
We were just, like, figuring it out, doing it, and listen, we enjoyed it. But to be successful and elevate a business, it's cool. And we're working and we're making money and it's a business, but we're not trying to be employees in our own business. There's nothing wrong with that. But to elevate and make a successful huge business, you eventually got to be able to walk away from your business and see your business still operating. That's something I look up to you that you do. You know, the credit repair Cloud is operating 24 hours a day. It doesn't sleep. So we did it for about a year. And then we're like, we need to start hiring. And then he kind of took that, and he's like, we need more and more and more. And then when we took that little step back, we kind of jumped back into the game. And right now, we just brought on someone new. Literally just closed today. We were on a call with him. We just congratulate him for closing his first sale. And as we're closing, more sales are coming in. But right now we're scaling. We're getting more salespeople where we're going into summertime, and we're looking to build, build, build.
Yeah, it's not so much working in the business. Well, we do work in the business a lot, but we're trying to also work on it. Right. And that's. That's how you scale it, is to work on it and not necessarily.
And have time to be out there being the face of the business, which you can never do if you're running the business. And in the business it took me. I'm impressed that you got to that level of hiring. That's amazing. I was actually running our business for more than 10 years, just pretty much just myself. And it failed and failed and failed until I. I hired Keenan and Kenan started helping me. And then Keenan kept saying, we gotta hire more people. And it was so scary. It's scary when you're the only one running a business. It's scary to think of paying other people, but it's the only way it can grow. Am I right?
That's what he was skeptical about. He's like, oh, but we're gonna waste money? This. I was like, you can't do everything yourself. We have to. Right. And so it was reinvesting back into the business, but it pays us back tenfold.
I see you're one of our top Credit Hero Score affiliates. Thank you. How is this. How has this helped you to grow your business?
It's like another mortgage payment, put it that way. It's a mortgage payment coming in just by simply giving them something that they're already going to be using and utilizing. Might as well respectfully, professionally, also utilize it on my end and, you know, make something, if I can, out of it. It's something that's helpful for the client that they're monitoring their score. They have identity theft protection on it. They get to see the, you know, the results updated. And at the same time, I'm getting something for sharing it, a referral for a commission for that.
And when you put it in contrast with other. The. The other services out there, they're getting started for a dollar. Right. Who can say no to that? That is.
That's huge.
That is huge. Okay. That is huge. Because sometimes you'll drop a different price on the different credit monitoring service. They may not like that. All right. But at the same time, you might thank them for not wasting your time anymore. Right. Because that wasn't a serious client to begin with.
I will add. And we love Credit Hero, and this is a positive thing. If there was even a way sometimes to make it even smoother and easier, because, like the client says, the security, it's not. It's not the service because it's the clientele. The clientele sometimes has a hard time answering those security questions. What's the Last place, my license plate number or, you know, what's this? But it's been very helpful and smooth if we can. You know, obviously over the time, I'm sure it'll get even better, but it's been very helpful. It's just frustrating when those clients don't understand their own questions.
Yeah, no, I understand. I failed those myself. It's the way that it's been set up with the credit bureaus. However, there is something new coming that's going to replace it and make it much, much easier.
We love the system. We love how smooth it is. We love how it operates. We've been waiting with it since 21, 22, 23 with credit Hero Repair, Cloud, and now 24. So we've been growing and building this. And we love how you have it set up. We love the dynamics of it, and we love how we're able to show our team how simple it is to import a report and do an audit. Those audits, just so you know, is our bread and butter. So just so you know, that button that says email audit, generate audit. That is what? Without that, there is no sale. Because when the client pops up, every single person or a team member is to know that you have to go through the audit. The audit is where you actually get to build the rapport, get to go through the sale, get to go through the relationship, see what's hurting their credit, add value, how you can help them. So that audit is everything to us.
That's so cool.
Yeah. That goes for the people, you know, the clients we get. Oh, what's the price? I'm just looking for a price, sir. A price on what? You don't go to a mechanic with your car broken and say, what's the price? To fix it, he needs to open the hood and see what's going on. That audit is us doing that, Opening the hood and seeing what's going on. Right. It's the X ray to your broken bones. It'd be foolish for somebody to walk into a doctor's office and say, how much is it to fix my arm? Let's take the X ray and then we'll find out. Right? So that audit, like he said, it sells itself. It's the bread and butter to our business.
Nobody's to come to our business and ask us, how much does it cost? Or how long does it take until we do an audit? Because there is one out of 10 times where a client might come and they have no delinquent or derogatory items on their credit, and they Only have maybe a few inquiries. Nothing to really dispute. They just need to build their credit. So with that, if I told him, oh, my price costs this and it's going to take me this long, and then I realize I can't even help the guy, then we would be doing a pointless conversation. So that's why we have to go through the audit process.
And then. I'm sorry, one more thing to piggyback at that audit is what separate. The way we present it is what separates us from a lot of our competition. Because our client. That's feedback we get from our clients, is that guys, nobody did that with me. Nobody educated me the way you guys did. And that's the one thing I can say that audit does, is it educates the client thoroughly on. Gives them an idea of what's going on. Now, because a lot of these people, they have no idea. And that pie chart that's in the audit is golden. Right? And so I've taught every single one of my salespeople to go over that pie chart. We do it successfully, and the clients love it. Right? And it's educating them. It's something that they didn't have before. And so now when they're putting that into. Into contrast with somebody else who they just spoke to, who do you think they're coming with? Right? The person who educated them and added value. So that's what. That was our biggest separation from our competition.
Wow, that's so cool to hear how well this is working for you. You know, when we first built it, the idea was that it would be like, when you take your car into the dealership and they do that printout to show you all the things wrong with your car. And it's really working. That's. I'm really excited.
Yeah. Yeah. That's what. Because they see how kind of, you know, messed up the score is. Like, they can't. A lot of people hurt.
Lay loc.
Oh, I got two inquiries, one derogatory. We pull up the report. It's like 30 different things on there. Like, okay, no problem, Sarah. We got some work to do. Right? But, yeah, it shows them their utilization. It shows them, you know, how many delinquents. And that's something I'll do. I'll read off to them. Because when we're reading the delinquents, that part gets personal. Right. Because they're not sharing that information with everybody. Right. They're sharing that information. And this is what I tell my salespeople. Right? They're sharing that information with you. So you kind of go over this in a soft tone, right? And almost make it more personal to them because now they're releasing information, they're getting personal with you, and the more personal they get, the more they're trusting you. And what's going to happen now when you transition into the close, the only question they should have is how much and how long.
Price is irrelevant to us now when it comes to the value we've added. Where we are today to where we were in 21, our price has three times. We've tripled our prices. Right. We've tripled our prices from 21 to 24. So. And in fact, we're getting more closes now. So it's because of the way we built the business, the way we train our people, and the way we present the most important thing, which is value nobody wants. If you tell someone something, cost something without actually showing them why this has these benefits and features to it, then there's no value added to that dollar amount.
As brothers, how has your relationship together evolved as business partners?
We're brothers, so you can imagine, right? But we have our arguments, right? And we have our. Our discussions. But at the end of the day, we do what's best for the business. You know, we don't let our, you know, arguments get involved of us making money or our team making money. All right? So our business is priority, and we put our BS behind us at the end of the day. Now, has our relationship grown as brothers? Absolutely. Right. Because now we have this thing doing it together. Right. And that's what's unique about it, is that I'm not. I've had a different company myself. Right. It's cooler, right? When you're talking to somebody about it, right. You have something to share with. Right. And that's what's cool because he's been by my side my whole entire life. And, you know, now that we're able to work and build business together and make money together, there's nothing greater in the world.
My father set us up, I think on purpose. He set us up in a way where since we were kids, he put us in the same room together. We slept together in the same room probably our whole lives. Up until about college, we shared a room. So we became best friends, naturally. And we became also wrestling buddies. You know, whenever we had an argument, sure, we'd wrestle each other up until we were grown men, but we were best friends. We shared a room. And now that we grown a business and we knew what we needed, what we were doing. Yeah, we still have arguments. We're actually complete opposites. Like, he's a fire, I'm a water. We are complete opposites. Literally. We think completely different, but when it comes to getting a result, we're both highly tangible and we understand how to do it. We might have different ways of doing it. Maybe I go to the left and he goes to the right, but we both meet in the middle. So we have different ways. And our relationship has grown and it's taught us more about each other and, you know, how to work together and how to become, you know, stronger together. But I can't do it without him.
And I couldn't do it without him.
So we need each other and we.
Know how important and together. You've been able to build this a lot faster then I couldn't have built.
I couldn't have get it to my website was a basic website. I sent it to him. He exploded it. He's the one who made me take the risk with the operations. He's the one who invented the group chats with the team. You know, as much as, like, I'm the front face and I. People see me on the ads, on the. On the goats credit Rami this, Rami that. But there's someone who's building Rami in the background who's keeping them also elevated on a pedestal and building all those operations, which is him. So it's a 50, 50 business.
I see on social media that you're very, very open about your faith. I want to say happy Ramadan.
Thank you. I appreciate that.
And I want to know, can you share a personal story where your faith has guided you through a difficult decision or a challenge in your business?
I would say a few months ago, business was very overwhelming for me. I was dealing with a lot of stressful clients, a lot of, you know, things, you know, people who are asking for, let's just say, ridiculous results. And, you know, it was just like a tough time for me. I was stressed out with business and things with the team. He was telling you that some of the salespeople had left. So I was going through a tough time. And after that, I kind of. It starts to hit you mentally. So I ended up, like, having a really bad, like, migraine for a few days. Like, really, really bad. I was just stressed out. And the only thing I could think to do was to pick up my faith, the book, and go pray and just be closer and be thankful for what I have and to get, you know, some. Some appreciation or gratitude in me. And within a few days, I. I felt the release of pressure. And you can ask my brother, you know, I was really close with it. And since then I've. I've been more closer to the faith part. And, you know, everyone's different. Everyone believes in something. Higher power. I just say, believe in God. You know, I have my own God as well. But since then, I've been able to appreciate more, relieve more, breathe better, move better, be happier. And I've been keeping it in my habit, consistently in my routine. My alarm clock ran, even though it's on do not disturb a few minutes ago, letting me know to catch. Catch a quick prayer. But I can tell you, having this business and with my. With my faith has been able to make me want to give more to the business and build the business. And then I see the results from it. I feel the gratitude. I feel it. I woke up and I said, I posted last night, I'm so grateful. And that was because, yes, I'm fasting, but I was also really excited for today to be on this. You know, I saw how huge it is of an opportunity to be on this. So I definitely feel like my faith and being grateful and thankful to God definitely brings me closer to a lot of this success.
I'd love for you both to complete this sentence that I'm about to say. I wouldn't be where I am today without my father.
I wouldn't be with where I am today without my father as well.
And this burns me up inside that he's not here with us anymore, you know, because, you know, Since I was 19, I started taking risks. That was my entrepreneur. And he would yell at me, you know, I would lose my cars, my home, get evicted. And, you know, I went through a lot, right? But all I would take sacrifices. My entire 20s, 10 years, I sacrificed my entire 20s, right, for one goal, one objective, right? And when someone asked me, what's your why? Why do you want, you know, to make all this money and material, you know, riches? I thought about it. I was like, why? And then I thought, all right, well, my dad has been working his whole entire life just for me, my brother, my sister, right? He didn't really have a life. He spent his life working for his kids. So my why was I want to give back to him. I want to retire him early, right? I don't want him to work another day in his life. So the last 10 years, that my life was all sacrifices, right? Just taking risk after risk, you know, promised high commissions, it's not working out, fall in my face, get Back up. But what happened is I learned every single skill set I needed to get us to where we are today or as long as well as the sales. He has his manager mindset, I have my mindset. And so that was my why right. The whole time when you asked that. But it burns us up now. Me up because he's not here with us to enjoy it.
Sure, I feel the same way. My father passed away and he got to see me starting the business. But I really wish he could see it successful.
I know how that feels. Yeah. Every day we think about it and what it could do for him and what could it do for his life. You know, he was a hard working man up until the day he was still working. We know what this would have done for him. And by the way, we get it from him. Like he was actually the one of the number one salespeople in the country for what he does in business. My dad was a professional salesman and he saw many business services connected to financial services with merchant banks and stuff. So he was a top sales guy. You know, he was a top guy in sales and we learned it from him. So we know he would have loved this. And that is why again, why I started the company Goats credit, greatest credit of all time is because. Is because of him. You know, I wanted, I wanted to have something for him to look back on and be like, look at my kids built.
I'm sure he sees and is very proud.
And I guess for anyone who's watching, right. We were talking about the gratitude earlier. I learned to just be grateful for everything I already have. Right. And that attracts more being grateful for what you already have. You want nothing. You have everything you need. Right. And wanting nothing will actually attract you everything.
What are your most effective marketing strategies for attracting new clients?
I will take myself and like and make myself a video. Maybe I'll use like a TikTok editor or a video editor and pretty much I will take results from credit repair cloud and when I go to do a new import and it shows the increases in the amounts deleted, I will simply take pictures of that. Right. Snapshots. And then I will make a video of myself pointing at the deletions and the score like, wow, look at this. Wow, I got a collection removed. And posting that there's somebody there. At least one out of ten people watching this. At least for every ten one that needs me. From there on people are going to hit me up on my Instagram or Facebook personally. On top of the marketing that I already have that we paid for on top of real estate agents or loan officers or people who work in dealerships that are seeing my personal post. Hey, Rami, this guy didn't get approved for a vehicle. I'm going to send them your way. All right, Go ahead. No problem. So my biggest thing with marketing is stay consistent, keep posting. If you're not letting people know your business is open every single day, then you're not really running a business. If you're. It's like, it's like, it's like, for example, I'm just saying people who watch TV, they might come across a McDonald's commercial all the time, and then they know McDonald's is open 24 hours and go get themselves a burger. If you're not posting that your business is open or showing content or showing the results you do, you don't want people to think that you're just a one time. Hey, hey. He does credit once in a blue, you know, because we have.
It's funny he said that because we have clients, leads that we get from our marketing on Instagram. Hey, I've been watching you guys for six months now. Hey, I've been watching you guys for. For the last year, right?
I'm finally ready.
I'm finally ready. So it's just like, you just keep planting seeds, right? You don't know when that seed is gonna, you know, flourish. But at some point, you've planted your seed and you must sow what you reap. So it takes money to make money, and that's the biggest thing, right? An initial investment, right, would catalyst your business, or at least it did for hours, right? It combined with our skill set of sales. So learning sales is the big thing. You're gonna get the clients, right? You got 200 people calling your phone now. What do you do? How do you close them? Well, you got some sales, right? Work to do if you have none. And that's the biggest thing, what our father gave us, right, that experience. We saw him, he was always a salesperson, put us in sales. In the last 12 years we've been in sales. So we had that coming into the game. Somebody who has no sales experience. I would start watching how to sell.
We actually show them your videos. You post a lot of videos on education and collections and bankruptcies and reposition. So we actually take your videos and we put them in a group me chat with our team training, and we say, hey, watch these videos. So then they learn the value of how to sell, because that's what it is. Well, because selling is educating nobody Wants a salesman, but they like someone they can trust. That's what sales is, is you're, you're not selling, you think you're selling. What you're really doing is educating on what you have opposed to somebody else. And in the, in the context, you're building a rapport in the process to show them, hey, I'm your best person, but I'm also your best product or service.
Really, really amazing. That's so cool that you show your team our videos. You make an awful lot of videos. And for people who don't have money for Instagram ads, do you believe that all the organic content you're making is also growing the business?
Yeah, I mean, he sees all the time. I get personal people from the, from the Instagram who will just DM me my personal set. Aside from Goats credit, they'll DM Rami and they'll also hit up his phone, his cell phone. If he has like loan officer friends or real estate agent friends, they will simply hit up his phone. So those are all separate from Goats credits. Instagram, all that stuff didn't require, you know, Instagram budgeting ads. It was just us posting on our Instagram and making daily content.
Because the content we post on our Instagram, we post on our personal stories as well on Instagram. So we do get a lot of organic growth from there. Aside from all the affiliates, let's just say nobody had money for ads, right? And they didn't want to post, but they wanted some business. What I recommend, right, you have a couple options. Go out in the field, go play ball, right? You print out some flyers, give them to dealerships, business cards go to business cards, go to real estate agents, right? There's so many, there's so many, so many people who work with people that get declined for credit. Okay? Those people are your audience that you want to put yourself in front of, because soon enough, right, if you can, you know, maybe put some sort of money attached to it as a, you know, referral bonus, right, you're going to get those calls, right? And those calls add up because you have to understand, you know, those people that are watching is that those people will give you referrals as well. The clients that you sign, that's another source of referrals. They got their families and friends that want to do their service, and if you treat them right, they're going to come and send them your way.
It happens all the time. Yeah, we have a lot of referrals. We incentivize them. If they, they come in we'll say, hey, what do I get if I refer you? Someone? Sure. Well, we could throw you a little, you know, commission bonus. Or hey, if you're in a monthly installment, maybe we'll take a month off your last month invoice because you refer to somebody. We'll find ways to incentivize these people. One thing I will tell you is it's all about presentation. When you walk into a dealership or you walk into a real estate one, you know, I learned this from you, Daniel, watching one of your videos, talking about, hey, put on a nice suit, go out there, presentations everything. I did that. I used to wear suits all the time. I literally just go out and go to a dealership and just be like, hey guys. And this is what I say. Literally, I'm like, hey guys. I work with other dealerships down the road from you guys. I realize I haven't stopped in here yet. I'd be doing myself, I'd be doing you guys a justice by not going in or a disservice by not going in and actually giving you guys these business cards. Because I have a lot of clients that are coming into these other people and they're getting declined for credit. So they're like, of course, give me some of those and I'll give them a stack of my business cards.
I took a deep dive into your Instagram accounts and watched all kinds of videos you're making. I thought it was really cool that so many were not just about credit repair. So I want to know, in what ways do you believe showcasing your authentic self on social media has impacted your business? For example, you've got things about business credit repair, but also faith and health and a whole lot more.
Yeah, I saw you like my last post. You actually liked the first video that was about Goat's credit. You actually, that was the one that you liked is actually when Goats credit started.
Wow.
I guess to answer your question, they get to see that we're real people, right? We have a real life. We know, and we're genuine, warm hearted, you know, people who want to help. But at the same time we do like to enjoy ourselves as well. And, you know, we have a life as well. And so making it like that, they see that, right? And when I'm on the phone with these people, at some point now we're cool with each other. Like, I'm making jokes, I'm cracking jokes with them. They know I'm an actual person. I step aside from that sales, you know, person personality, right? And then I get into, you know, myself, the sales personality is actually not there at all. Right. Because that's why I'm off the rip now. But maybe in the beginning, right, that's how it would be. But they get to see who you are, you know, the faith, they respect that.
I think also my personal, they know that who's the face behind the business. And when they see that on my personal page every single other day I'm posting a big box of letters that are printed out. I'm getting videos of me going to the post office. So what that does is it shows you how real it is, how successful the business is, you know, how consistent the business is. And these guys really are who they are and they are goat's credit. And it makes it easier to kind of close a client at that time because like, oh wait, I've seen you for years now I know who you are. It just makes it easier.
Very, very cool. You talked earlier about client referrals and testimonials. How important are those for your business?
Very important.
You have a 5.0 on Google reviews.
It's very easy. Yeah, it's very important. You know, it's just nowadays reviews, right before you go to eat at a restaurant, if it has a one star review, you're not even looking at the menu. All right, but as in contrast, you have a five star review. Okay, who are these guys about? Why do they have a five star review? You look at, you know, the testimonials, it gets people to trust you because like I said earlier, you know, nowadays online a lot of people are skeptical and so you have to showcase results, not how you can help them, but what other people are saying, feedback from the other people. And that's the biggest thing is getting a voice from somebody else who went through our program and then basically having someone else hear that.
Have you built any systems or processes or automations that help increase referrals and testimonials?
So what we do is we have a referral base depending on where we get the referrals. If they're coming from like real estate agents or loan officers or dealerships depending on what it is. But dealerships usually relatively, they take $100 or take 50 bucks and they'll take their client. Real estate agents and loan officers really just care about the return on that client. You know, they're really, because they're going to make a lot more money than $50 or $100 on the commission, a couple thousand when they get the return on the client. So with them biggest thing is having them access to the CRC, where they can get access to an affiliate and giving them access to their clients so they can see what the access is or what the, you know, process is of when that client is going to be ready. And if that goes well, then of course the real estate loan officer can always, you know, throw us something if we refer them too, because it works the same way. But biggest thing is working with real estate agents and loan officers. It's like a two way thing. It's like they have clients that need me. And then when my clients graduate and they have a good credit, I can send them to you now to look for a home or look for alone.
Okay, let's talk about credit repair. Of all the credit repair strategies you've learned, what's been a real game changer?
Collections is pretty, you know, common. All right, so we'll talk about that. A lot of people ask us, hey, what are you going to do? How are you going to remove this?
Or.
And I just go tell them the process. It's like, hey, look, let's just say, for example, you know, you had a Capital One credit card for $300. Well, what happens is if you don't pay it, it goes late, 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 120 days late. And then they charge it off. What happens is when they charge it off, they write it off as a loss. All right, So a couple months later, you get, you know, another collection company, portfolio, Recovery, Midland Credit, whoever it is, they come knocking on capital One's door and they're like, hey, you got any unpaid accounts for us? Well, capital one be like, sure, I have over 100,000. Would you guys like them? And they buy them for a fraction, maybe $10,000, whatever. I don't really cheap. Well, the problem with that is, you know, with that transaction it being made, they're only selling the first name, their last name, and how much they owe. No really proprietary information to attach them to that account. That rest of the information has to get collected by the consumer, right? From the consumer. And the only way they can do that is if they call them. So unless that debt is verified. All right, or not verified, that's the game. So basically, I'll tell our clients. I was like, hey, listen, you know, when you get on the phone with them, have you spoken to them and verified your information? No, I haven't talked to anybody. Okay, well, it looks like you got a strong leg to stand on here because now the only way that they can collect or legally collect that money from you is if you had verified that information. Now they're going to try to call you, get your first name, your last name, how much you owe, your social, date of birth, all of that. You give them that, right? Well, now they can legally go ahead and collect that debt on you. If you don't, we can challenge it with the credit bureaus, and that's part of the fcra.
How do you deal with the credit bureau stall letters?
We get those all the time. You know, those are, those are nutcase. Those are a nutshell. We've had people who've gotten those stall tactic letters for months on months. I had somebody who got it maybe between four to six months. They were just getting these stall tactic letters. And you know, at one point I was like, oh my God, like we're doing everything in the book. But the seventh month his credit shot up like, I don't know, 150 points, 200 points. He got like 56 deletions.
Wow.
So the name of the game is to keep pushing and to switch up your strategies. You know, when I first started doing this, you know, quite frankly, I didn't really, I wasn't, I didn't know how to dispute effectively and accurately. You know, I was actually doing trial and error with maybe my own credit or one or two people that I knew. I was like, let me try this dispute, let me try this. And then after a while, like maybe two, three months, I realized what was working and what wasn't. And putting not mine every time is not going to work. That doesn't work. So, you know, it might work once in a blue, but I realized that things was really understanding the fair credit reporting, acting law, understanding how the bureau's work, understanding how they're the messenger, they're the ones that are challenging, they have to verify. And then if you're dealing with that, if we have to reach out to the creditor, you know, it all depends on how things were. If I feel account wasn't going somewhere and they already verified, maybe I'll tell the client, listen, this is not getting removed. You already know. They already know who you are. You might have to settle and then we can get it removed. You know, so there's every, every client's report is different. We learned how to do bankruptcies. You know, you're not dealing directly with the Bureau's. That's a court matter. The court, the bureau tells you that, the court's posting that up. And you know, when you go to the court, they're like, I didn't Send that into Experian. You go through different strategies, different ways. All I can tell you is that it's a learning matter throughout the months, and we're still learning. But when we do have something that doesn't happen in a guaranteed result time, you know, we tell our clients, listen, we, you know, we've started to guarantee the work that we can do because we know what, we know how to do it, you know, and if we have somebody that, you know, we failed in a time which rarely really ever happens, but if we did have somebody upset or we didn't get them done in time, we simply tell them that we've never failed anybody. We've never gotten anyone done like this. Give us this extra month or two lead way, and we will make sure that, you know, these results come in, and surely they do.
That's all it takes. And now to answer your question from a client standpoint, what do we do with those stall tactic letters? Oh, I'm getting these letters from the. Oh, it's not working. We get in front of that. We don't. We let them anticipate those letters on the close, guys, you're gonna get basically, you know, I tell them, hey, just a couple expectations. You're gonna get updates every 30, 45 days from one of our associates, all right? You're gonna get a letter from the credit bureaus. You might get an email from Experian as well letting you know that, hey, it looks like there's a third party working on your credit. We're not doing it. Guys, guys, it's part of procedure, all right? Don't worry about it. Pay no mind to it. It's a stall tactic letters, right? They just need to buy themselves more time. They send it to all our clients, Rest assured, you're good.
And we post it on our Instagram. We have a picture of it on our Instagram, of the letters Experian in the transunion, what they look like. So if you get them, you already know what they look like, so we.
Get in front of it.
That's awesome. And speaking of bankruptcies, things do change all the time. What's working for you these days? On bankruptcies, on removing bankruptcies.
So it's going to have to depend on a couple factors. One, it's going to be on the time. You'll be surprised. There's people who come with bankruptcies from, you know, six, seven years, and they're still on their credit report. So if it has to do with outdated time, you want to look at the length of the credit of the report, if it's more than six, seven years, definitely look to get that outdated and get it removed. It doesn't belong on there. Second thing it's going to be doing is seeing where the, where they actually got filed with court. Is the, is the bankruptcy also in discharge? Did they also pay off and close all the accounts that were connected to the bankruptcy? Meaning if they file bankruptcy, there's accounts that they file bankruptcy for. We have to see the statuses of those accounts because those accounts must be also paid and closed now. So now those accounts will be easier to remove because they're satisfied. And now when we come to remove the bankruptcy, we're going to challenge it either first with the bureau and then when we get back from the bureau, then we can challenge it with the court and we'll ask the client simply where did you get your bankruptcy filed? And it should say, you know what court it did actually get filed with. And we can simply write a letter to them as well asking why this is reporting to the credit bureau. And every client is different but within a three to six month period we would get back activity and be able to get these items removed.
And what we found is that when the bankruptcy gets removed, the accounts attached to it are getting removed as well, which is pretty cool.
That's awesome. And are you referring any clients to consumer law attorneys? We had an attorney on the podcast about a month ago who talked about everyone who has a client with a bankruptcy should refer them to the attorney because they can also do things, there are usually mistakes in those bankruptcies and they can often win settlements as well as with the collections, they can often win settlements. So I was just curious, is that.
Separate from the service though, from our service in additional to our service, a.
Bonus cherry on the top of your service in that if they're being hassled by collection agents, let's say you can often refer them to an attorney who then can collect. Most of those collection agents are breaking laws and so they can identify that and get a big cash settlement for your client.
Sounds like you just added another tool into our arsenal here.
It was an interview with Haseeb Hussein. It was about a month ago, but it was really, really a great episode and he gives a lot of advice and also is someone that credit repair companies can work with. What's a common misconception people have about credit repair that you wish you could correct?
It happens overnight. That's the biggest one.
Not understanding the fundamentals of credit because I have a client that you might Come in and they have tons of negative items on their credit. Credit repair. Yes. Is we're deleting negative items, but they forget now that they actually have to now build positive credit. You'll have people who say, you know, you'll get them in the 500s and you might delete their negative items, but their score might not go up dramatically. And that's because credit, if you. There's a pie chart. We educate them on the pie chart. In the audit, 35% of it, which is almost 200 points, is your payment history. So if you don't have. And credit's calculated from 300 to 850. So 550 points to play with. 200 of them is literally how you pay your bills on time. So if a client doesn't have any reporting bills on time, any positive credit, well, your credit's not going to shoot up. And then I deleted the negative ones because they were negative. Well, then that's not going to help your credit shoot up. And then when I. Your credit Card utilization is 150, you know, 35%. Do you have any credit cards? If they don't have any credit cards, then you don't have a revolving balance. That's another thing. You're not having to build credit. So now all you have is a couple lousy inquiries, maybe one account that was open, and you have no mixed credit. So people don't actually understand how credit is built and what we're actually doing. Yeah, I'm sure I'm deleting your negative items. But after that, there's another sequence now where it's like almost like a body cleanse. It's like your, your, your stomach is filled with all these fatty acid acids and toxins. Well, now after we do the cleanse and we release all this stuff, we now got to build it with nutrition. We got to build it with positive, healthy foods.
And that's exactly how a credit report is, 30% utilization. So in the beginning, when me and my brother first started this, we're getting deletions off our clients. And, you know, months later, they're calling us. Two months later, hey, my credit's going down. What's going on, guys? And we're, we're like, what are we doing? What are we, what do we do wrong? Right? So we'll look in. I'm worried. And then my brother's scrolling. He's like, this guy's maxed out on his credit cards, right? So we realized, yeah, we realize, okay, all right, they're coming at us Thinking that we're hurting their score, but in fact we see that we're helping them. Guy, look in the mirror, right? Your, your utilization needs to go down a lot. And so that's what we realize is the biggest misconception. People's like, oh, I got credit cards. I need to use them, use them, use them. Slow down and press the brakes. Yes, right. But responsibly.
And I repair. I relate credit report to like going to the gym. Does your body get worked out and shaped up in a day, or do you have to consistently work on it for a few months and do the right habits and have the right behaviors and follow and just like again, what happens if you stop going to the gym and stop eating right? You go right back down the hill, stop tainting with your credit. What happens if you stop paying your bills on time and you let your credit go down to waste? You're going to go down to the negatives again and a low credit score.
What's one piece of advice that you'd give to someone starting their own credit repair business?
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great. Okay. And so that's just basically the gist of it right there is that simple. Start right, and the snowball is going to be very small, all right. But you just keep pushing, pushing, pushing, pushing, and it's going to get bigger and bigger and bigger, and then you're going to find it rolling down the hill.
To empower yourself would be by to educate yourself as much as possible in the beginning to really find or stick to somebody who's successful already doing it, to see what they did. And the way I would do that is simply what I did is going by the credit repair cloud millionaires. And I would look at them and they would tell you their story and I would follow that. So here I am now, you know, two years later with my brother, three years later talking to you, heading in the same mark. And that's what I would say is find someone who's successful, learn what they did and educate yourself. Because if you educate yourself on everything, because just to remember, my brother and I, we were doing A through Z. So if you can educate yourself and be able to actually know every single step of the business mastered, you're not going to have a problem when a client gives you an objection because you know everything. And then you'll be able to actually empower and educate others. So our biggest thing is education and find someone who's already successful that you can Learn from.
Okay, now I want to switch gears and I want to ask you a few rapid questions, so both of you answer with the first thing that pops into your head. Okay. What is your business superpower?
My mind.
Business superpower. Educating.
What's your business? Kryptonite. The area that you have to work the hardest to improve.
Making our salespeople stronger.
What does business ownership mean to you?
Leadership.
Responsibility.
What drives and motivates you?
My dream?
Seeing other success tied behind what I gave them. So when I see someone succeed and I see some, whether it's a client or a team member, that drives me to want to be more successful and produce and make way more money, I love it.
What's your definition of success, each of you?
I think the best definition I came across is Earl Nightingale's is success is a progressive realization of a worthy ideal.
So it could be anything that you set your mind to it that you accomplish. And that could be for anyone. It could be for the school teacher that wanted to be a teacher. She went and became a teacher. That's success for her. Success is defined by what you obtain as a goal and, you know, hitting and smashing through that goal. So success for us is, you know, building a multimillion dollar business and foundation in remembrance of our father and helping so many people across the world and give them what they need.
Awesome. If you could go back in time and tell yourself one piece of advice, what would it be?
Never get too comfortable just because things are doing really well and you reach a certain plateau and everybody's like, wow, you're here. This is amazing. I'd love to be here. No, this is where you actually need to put your foot on the pedal even harder and more and keep it going. And that's something I learned when I made that mistake maybe a year, year and a half ago. Is that when things are really going really well and smooth, that's not the time to relax and let it be smooth. That's the time to, you know, put your foot up to the pedal and get it going even more.
I would have invested in my in the business earlier. More so I would have ran ads, probably faster. Yeah. Instead of waiting to do that.
Yeah. I think for me it would be hiring sooner. Going 10 years solo.
Yeah. Yeah, 10 years.
That was very, very rough. Do you have any other advice for someone starting a credit repair business?
Best piece of advice is if you treat it like a hobby, it'll pay you like a hobby. If you treat it like a business, it'll pay you like a Business, right? And that's exactly what he just talked about. You're eating a slice of pizza, you get a lead, you put the pizza down, you wipe off the grease on your shirt and you take the lead, right? And that, that's, that's the stuff that will pay you like a business, right? You go out, you know, you don't have any leads coming in. You go out and create your leads, right? I think it was Earl Nightingale, he said the same thing. He doesn't wait for the circumstances. If the successful person goes out and makes his circumstances, right? So if you don't have the opportunity here, go out and create it, right? You go to the dealership, hand out the flyers, just go talk to people. Anybody can make it happen if they wanted to make it happen. Educate yourself, align your mindset with your goals, and the world is yours.
And, and also I would say that making sure that they said they set themselves up mentally, meaning they know what they're about to walk into. Running your own business, we're talking about all the success, all the great things, how it's changed our lives, you know, everything that we do. But not too many people are going to tell you about the hard times, the rejection, the days where we weren't producing, the times where we had upset clients, where the days where we were stressed, the days where leads were slow, all that comes with it. But if you can manage and handle and go through that, then on the other side is a golden plateau waiting for you to run a multimillion dollar business.
That is amazing advice. You both are incredible. Congratulations on your success and I want to thank you so much for your time today, for being on both of you. This was a lot of fun. Did you have fun?
Absolutely.
Daniel, we got to be on the next one with you probably sometime at the end of the year or maybe early next year. We'll, when we cross that mark, let's do it.
Let's do it for sure. And for everyone out there watching or listening, if you're finding value in the things we share on this podcast, click below to subscribe and follow.
