We are still in quarantine here in California, but something very strange is happening online all over the country. People are getting sucked into it and it's hurting their businesses. And I want to warn you about it to be careful before you make the terrible mistake that I see other people are making.
So the big question is this. How can we take our passion for helping people with their credit and turn it into a successful business without taking loans, without spending a fortune by boots bootstrapping it from nothing so we can help the most people and still become highly profitable? That is the question, and this podcast will give you the answer. My name is Daniel Rosen, and welcome to Credit Repair Business Secrets.
I don't know how long we've been in quarantine. Is it six weeks? Is it eight weeks? I've completely lost count. I have never binge watched so many shows. I watched the Tiger King, Ozark, the Two Popes, the Better Call Saul, a million movies. Plus I watched every episode of Shark Tank and the profit that's ever been made. Did you ever watch the Prophet? It is so awesome. Between Shark Tank and the Prophet, I have learned so much about business. If you're starting a business, check out the Prophet. It's had a huge influence on me. Now here's what's tough for me. This last week was the week that we were going to have our big credit repair expo in Dallas, which obviously didn't happen. So that made me really, really sad. It was the biggest loss that we've ever had as a company. We were preparing for this massive event for a thousand people. A thousand credit heroes were all going to fly into Dallas and it was going to be epic. But the good part is we're going to be back bigger and stronger with the next credit repair expo as soon as it's safe and as soon as events start happening again on a regular basis. But in the meantime, at least I'm connecting with you in this way, and that's pretty good. I hope you're well, I hope your family is well. I hope you're all healthy and that you're being safe. And I hope you've moved your business to be completely online because the people who have, they're doing record business. Obviously. I spend a lot of time online, but it's really been multiplied lately and I'm sure it has been the same for you throughout this time. I'm trying my best to keep my routine most days and I stress most, but most days I get up, I get dressed, and I work just like a regular day. But Saturday is bathrobe day for me. I love to sit in my bathrobe all day and play on Facebook. But this last Saturday, I just kept getting so upset about what I was seeing on Facebook. It really, really messed me up for the entire weekend. I unfriended and I unfollowed so many people, and I've never done that before, but I just couldn't take it. See, the amazing thing about being online during this coronavirus time is how it really amplifies and shows you who people really are. Steve Martin used to have a joke about cocaine, about how it intensifies your personality. And then the punchline was, but what if you're an asshole?
And.
And I think the Internet during this time is having that same effect. Have you noticed how many people are revealing how nuts they are? I never used to block people, but the posts are so crazy lately and so aggressive, and they make me feel horrible, and I've had to block them so I don't see them anymore. And I'm not talking about our credit repair cloud community. You guys are awesome and generally positive, and I'm really, really, really happy about that. I'm talking about the people who aren't necessarily involved in the credit repair business. People who are sort of friends or people I went to school with or who are connected to me in some way, but they're not real friends. You know what I mean? I mean, I wouldn't want to meet them in person. You know, some of them are business acquaintances that I never really liked, but I didn't know why. Well, now I know why. And some of them are people that I really looked up to who have followings, important marketers or even some of the comedians I used to work with, people I thought were my friends or who I do business with. They're now posting angry, hateful stuff or conspiracy theories or just trying to get people angry to call attention to themselves. By getting people all worked up with their hate and their political crap, and they don't realize the damage they're doing. Why would they want to just rev up angry people? I just don't get it. And then below their posts, their fans are posting even angrier stuff and all of their crazy conspiracy theories, and they really do get crazy. And what's been so surprising is seeing all these people suddenly revealing exactly who they are. And some of them are really turning out to be horrible human beings. Yes, this is a difficult time for everyone. Yes, we all have that in common, but we also have a choice of how we come out of this. We can take this as an opportunity to become better and make the world better, or we can make things worse. And that choice is up to you. And in my head, when I see these angry, hateful posts, I'm thinking, that's someone I never want to work with. And had this coronavirus thing never happened, I might still be associated with some of these people or following these people, or wanting to do business with these people. But they blew it. So what does this have to do with having a credit repair business?
Everything.
Because being in business means being a good person and being a good leader. Remember what you communicate, what you personally promote attaches to your business brand. You need to always be careful about how you influence people because you have power to have positive or negative influence on people. Whether you're talking about credit or finances or just what's happening in the world, it's important to always give accurate and helpful positive advice and promote helpful information. If you are in business, and especially if you have a following or if you want to have a following to grow your business and to grow your brand, things you say affect other people and that is a huge responsibility. Here's why this is important. In business and in life, the most important thing is to be a good person. If you're a good person and you help others, good things will happen to you. And if you approach business that way, that is the reputation your business is going to have, especially in the credit repair business where it's completely about helping people and changing lives. So here's what you need to know. If you are trying to grow your business and you're trying to grow your brand, be responsible about what you say. If you are online and trying to grow your brand, step up and be a leader. If you are online and trying to grow a brand, always remember that potential clients and potential partners may be watching and listening and what you say online, it really matters. And if you do step up and be a leader and if you make being a good person part of your brand, and if you live it like it's your mission, in every interaction you have, this is going to be your reputation of your brand and this is how you build the business of your dreams. I know this is true because that's how I live. That's my mission and it's worked out very, very well for me. So I know without a doubt that it's going to work for you.
