What Happens After the Lead Comes In (Most Businesses Get This Wrong)

Devin Shaw built automation systems for credit repair companies on GoHighLevel. Most businesses fail at follow-up: the real profit comes from nurture sequences, not just capturing leads. He walks through three essential automations, lead tactics like Facebook groups and comment-to-DM posts, and how to scale from 10 to 50+ clients monthly.

We had a credit repair company on Black Friday had a $100K day, so made $100,000 in one day. Her biggest issue, and when she came and signed up for me, she said, Devin, I don't care what the fee is, I will pay it because my backend team, there's no way we're going to be able to onboard all these clients. Well, if she had already had this set up, her backend team wouldn't even known because the system would have done everything. The CRC Marketing Hub gives you the biggest competitive edge over any other CRO out there. The ones using the CRC Marketing Hub appropriately, they're working less but making more.
Hey, credit heroes, let me tell you a secret. The difference between a struggling credit repair business and a million-dollar one, it isn't about better disputes. It's about follow-up. It's about nurture sequences. It's about what happens after someone visits your site, after they book, after they disappear, after they say, I'll think about it. That's where the money is. We studied exactly what credit repair millionaires were doing behind the scenes. We studied their secret follow-up sequences, their nurture automations. We studied the stuff that no one sees, and then we built it all into the CRC Marketing Hub, which is built on GoHighLevel, but it's customized and supercharged specifically for CRC with those automations already baked in. And today we're bringing on Devin Shaw. He is a GoHighLevel expert who knows exactly how this engine works, and he's going to be speaking live at Credit Repair Expo in Dallas. So please welcome to the podcast, Devin Shaw. Hey, Devin.
Hey, how's it going?
We're really glad you're here. This is exciting.
Yes, thank you.
Thank you. And before we get tactical here, I want to know your origin story. Where'd you grow up? Where are you right now?
Yeah, so I was actually born in Houston and I live in Houston to this day. So got into this space, got into credit repair in about 2020. So I used to sell cars and it was fun selling cars, but I also just had a daughter. So I had our first kid. Selling cars, you work 9 to 9, 6 days a week. So that didn't work. Got into credit repair. Um, with CRC and was doing credit repair for a little bit. But for me personally, what I realized was I was actually really good at setting up systems, and people were actually coming to me and they're like, hey, I went through your opt-in and it was way better than what I have. Can you build something for me? So through 2020 to 2021, I actually started making a shift, um, from doing credit repair full-time to actually building systems full-time. Uh, around that time it was ActiveCampaign was really the big guy out there. Well, around doing the ActiveCampaign stuff, what I realized was, wait a second, I'm having to use this funnel builder, this thing here, this calendar, this, this, all these different, um, programs. And I was like, okay, there has to be a better way. And that's when I found GoHighLevel. So have been with GoHighLevel since 2021. Pretty much every year I've been with GoHighLevel, I've been an agency owner until recent, but agency owner. And that's why all these plaques behind me. So every year I'm helping at least 100 credit repair companies and most recently 500+ with their systems and building them out. And all of that has led me to here right now.
Awesome. And so besides credit repair, you also work with funding companies and a lot of tax pros, right?
I do, yes. So those all actually really go hand in hand. So at first, I never had intention on working with funding companies or tax companies, but a lot of credit repair companies were like, hey, I actually do business funding, and that's my main thing, and credit repair is kind of secondary because a lot of people that want funding need to fix their credit first. So they were like, what can you build me on the funding side? So I started building a lot of funnels, a lot of surveys with things called conditional logic so that if someone gets disqualified on the funding side, then they end up on the credit repair side where they can then become a client. Um, and then of course with those two, a lot of them around this time of the year, right? Which is like January, February, March, April is tax season. So a lot of them were like, hey, you set my tax or my credit repair and my funding business up perfect. Can you do my tax business as well? It's one of those things. Everything's kind of just fallen into it. Not so much me trying to get into an industry is mainly just current customers saying like, hey, but wait, is there more? So and just kind of answering that call.
And with the credit repair, the funding and the tax pros, what do those three businesses have in common that, that makes automation so powerful for them?
So what they have in common is a lot of them are super hungry with getting leads, right? So what I see is a lot of them buying flyers from Fiverr or whatever it may be, ads possibly. but mainly organic, just posting every day, doing stories. And what I would see is a lack of call to actions, right? So no CTAs. And basically they were saying like, hey, if you want to fix your credit, just shoot me a message. And I was like, they're probably not going to shoot you a message. They're going to look at it and then they might just keep looking over and over, but they're not really going to message you. You need like somewhere for them to go to learn about what you do without the pressure of actually speaking to somebody. Right. And that's kind of— we're fast forwarding to the self-signup. But years ago, that was not a thing. Everyone was booking consultations. Right. So what I was able to do was basically say, hey, you know what, let's actually do a funnel page with a, with a form. Let's capture their first name, last name, phone, email, have them opt in, and we can follow up with them so that if they don't sign up, we can do a lot of different things with these guys, especially because everyone files taxes. So whether you're a funding company or a credit company, towards a certain time of the year, all of these guys are looking for someone for tax help. Um, and that's what I've been showing people is how automations can keep people in the system with follow-ups, text, email, whatever it may be, birthdays, Happy New Year, all these different events. And then when you have a special or some type of offer, you now have people within your ecosystem versus just posting out into the world.
Very cool. For someone who has no idea what the CRC Marketing Hub is, can you break it down into simple terms?
The CRC Marketing Hub is literally the heartbeat of your company. It is without the CRC Marketing or this. I will say this. The CRC Marketing Hub gives you the biggest competitive edge over any other CRO out there. And the reason is because when I look in the market right now, right, this is what I do every single day and I've done for years. Is I see a lot of people trying a lot of things and they're wondering why it's not working. And me as an expert, or a proclaimed expert in this space, what I see is the ones using the CRC Marketing Hub appropriately, what they're doing is they're working less but making more because now they're focusing on sharing that link to as many people as possible, whether that's Facebook groups, their own personal just putting it on flyers, ads, whatever it is. They're sharing that link to get it out to as many people as possible. And the more people you get into the system, the more you get out of the system. So the CRC Marketing Hub, in like a broad approach, is how you can, as a business owner, take more off your mind and just really focus on like that marketing aspect. And then of course the fulfillment aspect once someone becomes a client.
The first time someone logs into the CRC Marketing Hub, it's vast. It does so many different things that it gets really, really overwhelming for folks. What do you think are the 3 must-have automations that every CRC user should turn on immediately?
You need to turn on your lead automation immediately. That is one of the biggest things when I'm helping people currently is if they're like, hey, something's not clicking right now. Is the lead automation. Turn on the lead automation. This is going to get people in there and to nurture them into becoming clients. So leads is the first piece. The next piece is going to be your long-term nurture. So long-term nurture, these are still leads, but these are folks that might not purchase for 3, 6, a year, 6 months, a year. So that's the next piece is keeping these people rotating in that ecosystem. And then lastly, I think the biggest part especially when we think of customer service, is all of the onboarding automations. So being able that when someone makes a purchase through your self-signup, that they're able to instantly get a welcome, right? Welcome, here's the next steps, boom, boom, boom. There's no delay. There's no asking, hey, I sent you money on Cash App, nothing like that, right? Everything is, hey, I paid. Okay, what's my next thing? Okay, cool. Here's my portal. I can upload my documents and they can move through that process. So those three are the must-have turn-ons.
Are you still calling yourself Ninja Automations? Or should we be doing a different welcome for you?
So I actually go by Devin Knows GHL right now. So I'm kind of going with a brand change. Technically Ninja Automations is still fine, but Devin Knows GHL is really like the main name I'm going by now.
A lot of our audience, they're just starting their business. We have thousands of people coming to us a month that are starting their credit repair business. If we kind of walk back to the basics of marketing, the first issue people have is how do I get leads? How do I get clients in the door? What are the best tactics you have today or you're seeing work today for those beginners just getting started, how are you advising them to get their first leads in the door?
Yep, so good question. So for beginners, you have to be an expert, right? You have to have that trust in yourself before anyone else trusts you, right? Like you can't just say, "Hey, I do credit repair, trust me," and sign up and pay me money. So what I always recommend for someone to do is there is a ton of first-time homebuyer groups. So if you're watching this podcast right now, you can even do this right now where you could literally go on Facebook, you can put in your city. So I'm in Houston, Texas, so I could put in Houston first-time home buyers and I can search that on Facebook. And I know for sure, cause I've already looked it up, there's 250,000 people in a local group here in my city. And when I go in these groups, you'll see questions like, hey, I have a 610 credit score, can I get a house? Hey, I have a collection, can I get a house? I have a bankruptcy, can I get a house? And these are individuals you want to reach out to. So if you're just starting and you haven't helped anyone, one of the biggest things is, first of all, you should be working for free, probably with friends and family, and you should help them fix their credit so you can build that confidence in yourself. So that when people— when you reach out to folks on these Facebook groups and they go to your profile, they can see reviews, they can see happy people, they can see credit score increases. And they're like, okay, this is someone that I can trust to help me in my home buying journey. And then from there, you would send them your link, of course, where they can do the self-sign-up and then become a client.
Got it. So step 1 is to really work, work on getting those first testimonials, reviews, start getting it posted organically on your social media feed. And then step 2 is really, is it to start engaging, just answering questions in those communities? Are you telling people to post content in there? Like, what do those tactics look like?
Yeah, so you should post, right? So basically you need to become an expert. So one of the big things I teach with marketing is no one will purchase from you if they don't have know, like, and trust. Like, it doesn't matter how cheap it is. You can say I'm doing $5 credit repair. If they go to your page and you're selling dogs on your page, they're not gonna buy the credit repair for $5. So you should have that know, like, and trust aspect. So you should go to these groups, you should mention who you are, introduce yourself, and Be formal, be confident, and say, what I do is I help people fix their credit so they can become first-time homebuyers, right? So now I have my perfect avatar. Um, so you're basically posting content in these groups showing that you're an expert, whether that's saying, hey, one of the few things you guys should do is check your credit report. Here's a link, you can check your credit report. Boom, they can see their credit report, they can see what negatives are on there. Maybe you, you know what I mean, throw a seminar. I've seen that as well where people do seminars with first-time homebuyers there and they go over different ways that they help folks become first-time homebuyers in that process. So it's really like the second step is going into the group once you've identified it, that's your avatar, first-time homebuyers, and basically saying this is the group I help and this is how I help them. And just posting content, interacting, responding, they shouldn't just search you and think, wait a second, you're not providing any value to this group that you're taking away from. So definitely provide value.
Are there any no-nos you see that people do that they get kicked out of groups doing this?
It's instantly message people. So the biggest no I see, and I think this goes for every single group, is if you join and you instantly start friend requesting folks from there and you're pulling from the group, right? You're taking without giving anything. So that's one of like the main things. It won't take long at all for someone to say, hey, do you know who Sarah is? And then the group owner says, no, I don't know who that is. What message do they send? And, and then that's how you get kicked from groups.
Yeah, don't be a siphoner.
Yeah, don't be a siphoner.
Got it.
So, uh, very clear. That's one avatar people can go after. Are there any other tactics besides first-time homebuyers, which this sounds like an amazing tactic, but are there other avenues that you see are common to get those first leads?
So one that I do teach, and it's just because I used to be in the car business, is we used to— I used to sell Toyotas, and a lot of people go in and they cannot qualify for a car. So that is a great avenue for leads, is going to car dealerships. And you can even ask these sales reps, because I know when I was a sales rep and I wasn't doing credit repair, All I knew was someone would come in, we would sit down, we would talk for an hour, and my sales manager would come and say, hey, currently we can't help you, right? That's the gist of what I knew about credit. And I was just like, okay, sorry, that's the end. Where if I can honestly say, when I was selling cars, if I had someone that I could send these folks to, I easily would have made a recommendation like, hey, unfortunately we can't make this car deal happen right now. But here is someone that may be able to help you that you can reach out to. And that'd be a good avenue because now it's building that know, like, and trust as well, right? A referral is probably the biggest area of like, now I can trust this person. And then once that person is helped, they're going to also trust me to come back and purchase a car, hopefully. So that's another really good one that I teach.
Amazing. Well, before we go into other marketing topics, is there any others you think we should dive into from the lead gen perspective?
The biggest thing is just having the appropriate funnel, right? Funnel and strategy. Also with setting up your personal profile. So when they go to your personal profile, like I, I always harp on this, the whole know, like, and trust. You have to look like an expert. And of course it's nice when you are an expert, but you need to also look like an expert where when they go to your profile, kind of like with Devin Knows GHL, instantly when you land on my profile, you're like, okay, this guy definitely does GoHighLevel. Like there's no doubt he He builds funnels, he builds automations, he does AI. Like, I know exactly what this guy does. So when it comes to Legion, it's kind of having that profile funnel. I used to see it a lot years ago. I don't see it much anymore, but having your profile set up in a way that when leads land on your page, they instantly have a button that they can click, right? That's the call to action. And then also a headline as well on who you help. So it's the whole adage of riches in the niches, right? So it's like, if I help first-time homebuyers, on my banner it's gonna say, I help first-time homebuyers fix their credit so they can become homeowners. And someone's gonna see that, okay, perfect, that's me. They click the link and everything is about them, right? Riches in the niches. So that's one of the main things that I would say on the Legion part is just stay consistent with your posting. You shouldn't post a bunch of random stuff. I do a bunch of stuff. I have 4 kids. I love cars and trucks and everything else. But when I'm making my posts, I try to make sure like 70% of it is about my business, right? Like it's about GoHighLevel, funnels, automations, AI. And then of course I put in my actual life on there as well. But that's really one of the other main pieces on the Legion side. In this AI world, it's easy to try to fake things. But yeah, no, it should definitely feel real. And that's how people feel comfortable also, right? Like, I don't want anyone to land on my page and like, mm, I don't know about this guy. So definitely make it feel natural.
The credit repair businesses that you're working with, like, they're starting to get their name out there, they're starting to get what we would call traffic here, which is like people like clicking on their profile, starting to come towards them, and starting to learn about their business. What are the biggest problems that you see credit repair business owners face and how are you solving that?
So 100%, the biggest issue they have is, well, first of all, it's like the journey of the credit repair company, right? So you're brand new, you're getting your name out there, and it's easy. You got like 3 messages a day, you're happy, right? You're telling your husband, you're telling your wife like, hey, this is great. Like, I'm getting leads, I'm closing deals, this is perfect. Well, as you grow, what happens that I see is their systems don't grow with them. So let's just say you go viral, right? A post you make gets 100 or 500. Um, actually, someone— I believe she's speaking at the expo as well— um, Lasunday, she just made a post, and most of her posts get 10 comments. She's had a post get like 3,000 2 days ago. So 3,000 people all of a sudden rush into your system. Well, if you don't have a system set up in place, the amount of messages— because people are still going to ask before they sign up, hey, this is my situation, can you help me? If you can't answer those questions fast enough, it's just a huge bottleneck. And then you now you have negative feedback for people you're not even helping yet. One of the biggest things I see is basically leads coming in, whether it be ads or going viral, whatever it may be. And basically you cannot keep up with it no matter how hard you try, right? Every time you answer a message, they come back with 2 more questions and it's just like this never-ending monster that's growing heads when you cut one off, right? So, so basically that's one thing. And the way we solve that is actually with AI. So we actually put AI into businesses on both the front end and the back end So that when you're doing lead gen, a lot of automated texts and emails that go out to leads, usually it's a one-sided question, right? Like, hey, we fix credit, sign up today, link, right? Whereas with AI, we're able to do something that no one else does, is we ask an open-ended question. Hey, why are you wanting to fix your credit, right? We're able to ask stuff like that and someone could say, oh, I'm trying to buy a house in 2 years. And credit's getting in the way. Okay, what on your credit's getting in the way? Oh, I have a collection and a charge-off. Okay, have you seen this on your, like, credit monitoring? Are you on Credit Karma? Where are you seeing these negative items? Oh, I just saw it on Credit Karma. Okay, here's my credit monitoring affiliate link. Go here and see what your actual credit report is so you can actually see what your credit report is. They can make a purchase using systems. We can set up a form that they fill out so that the system knows they purchased credit monitoring. Well, once they purchase credit monitoring, it can now trigger the next piece, which is, okay, perfect, we see your credit. Now here's the link so you can actually get started in credit repair services. This keeps you compliant. It keeps you away from doing consultations. And to the credit repair owner, they had no clue any of this even happened, right? I always think it's funny, but I'll have clients say like, Devin, I'm having all these leads saying Stephanie's the best person on my team. And I was sitting there, I'm like, who is Stephanie? And Stephanie's the AI. So that's like one of the funniest things, like for us on my team is everyone is like, oh my gosh, I love Stephanie. Stephanie's the best. And everyone's like, do they know Stephanie's AI is like not a real person? But Stephanie converts a ton of leads into clients. And that's why, even just circling back to the marketing hub, why it was so powerful, because everyone was trying to set up systems outside of GoHighLevel. Well, GoHighLevel has a lot of really good things already built in, and they're investing a lot of money into automations. So by having that marketing hub aspect, now everything's in one system. It's hard-coded, which basically, for people watching this, means that everything everything that happens inside your marketing hub also happens in CRC. That is another big issue that I see when I set up systems is, Devin, someone so-and-so became a client and it's right over here, but it's wrong over here and it's messing up my backend team. Well, the cool thing is when everything's hardcoded, it's like you didn't even know, right? Like nothing breaks there. Everything stays correct. So by having that piece in there, it honestly simplifies the entire frontend, the lead piece. And then just to like quickly wrap this up is the second part is on the client side, right? So now you get really good as a credit repair company, you're really good at marketing, you're converting a lot of people into clients. We had a credit repair company on Black Friday, had a $100K day, so made $100,000 in one day. And her biggest issue, and when she came and signed up for me, she said, Devin, I don't care what the fee is, I will pay it because my backend team, there's no way we're going to be able to onboard all these clients. Well, if she had already had this set up, her backend team wouldn't even known because the system would have done everything. It would have collected all the IDs. If they don't have their ID sent in, it would remind them. It would do everything for them. And then they would just actually do the credit repair function. But those are the two big areas, right? Like as you grow and you go over that hill is the leads and then of course the fulfillment with clients.
I'd love to get a little more tactical here to kind of, because it sounds like, uh, once people have that traffic coming in, your, um, your expertise and skill set, like you're installing these AI follow-up systems to basically do the sale of credit repair back and forth over like a chat conversation. What does it look like for the businesses that you're working with to actually generate those conversations? Are those happening on Facebook Messenger, Instagram, over text message? Like, where do you see the most success and how are you setting up these systems for people?
Yes, that's a great question. So I'm gonna answer it and then I'm gonna show you guys some stuff also. So, well, yeah, so basically to answer that question, it depends. Super general, but basically it depends because I've seen people with a lot of success from DM ads, right? So DM being Instagram mainly, right? So when the ad is running, basically it would say, if you're interested, comment the word credit down below, or comment the word 700 down below. That's your call to action. What you can do with the marketing hub is— and I actually show this in my school group that we'll go over— but basically what you can set up is when someone comments a word on Instagram, you can actually have your system send an Instagram message to them. right? So basically your ad says comment the word 700 down below. As soon as they do that in the marketing hub, that triggers an automation that sends them an Instagram DM that says, hey, how's it going? Thank you for your interest in my services. Here's a link to get started today, right? And that link is sent to them. They're able to click that link and able to go through the system and opt in. Now, us as systems people, and I'll show you guys a little bit of what this looks like shortly, is what we're able to do is we're going to have them opt in instantly with their first name, last name, phone, and email so that we can link it to that Instagram. As soon as we can link it to the Instagram, now we can do follow-up, right? So we can actually track to make sure they're doing what we were hoping they do, which is signing up for credit repair. Um, so we see a lot of success with DM ads when we see success with Facebook ads where they just fill out a Facebook form. So same thing, they put in first name, last name, phone, email, and then it would then go directly to your landing page, in which of course they can then do the self-signup to become a client.
The people that you work with, are they running ads that are specifically comment below to start that conversation? Because we also hear a lot of people running engagement ads on social media where it's like press a button and it starts a chat on Instagram and Facebook.
So I have a hot take on that. You guys could even see this in the CRC group. So I do a thing, I'm giving you guys— this is a good golden nugget right here, right? So I call it my honeypot post. So you could even see this if you're in the CRC group, you'll see my post and what I do. I always tell people to comment a word, and you'll notice my posts get significantly more engagement, right, than every other post. It's the same for ads. If I tell everyone just to click send me a message, your, your ad, which is sponsored, will have like 3 or 4 comments. My clients that are doing 100K days, theirs has 5,000 comments, 6,000 comments. And it's just simply saying like, comment the word 700, and we set up an automation to respond to that person. So we do a response. So now one comment's two comments, right? And then what we'll do is once we send the message, we send another comment. So now every one comment from a lead becomes 3 comments in total. And what this does is it pushes it out like crazy. So you'll notice, and as people are watching this and like, who is he talking about? If you scroll through Facebook and you interact with credit repair people, you'll eventually start seeing their ads and you'll see the ones that have 2,000, 3,000, 4,000 comments. And you'll look at it and you'll be like, wow, he's right. Yes, they comment it puts a heart on it, it does a response, and then it sends them a message. And then the message is the link or whatever the next thing is. Because also the cool thing with DM ads is you actually don't even have to send them a link. I can have a full conversation in the DMs, um, answering most questions, qualifying you basically, like, you're a funding company. So I can qualify you in the DMs, and based on those answers, I can either send you the funding link or I can send you the credit repair link. So this is what we set up for folks every single day. We just get really good at it just from seeing data, right? We're a big data company because you got to— with marketing, another thing to note is you always take your feelings out of it, right? Like you can look at a picture and be like, I hate that picture. This is not going to work. And then that's the one that had a 5x return on ad spend versus the one that you worked on for 2 weeks. So definitely take your feelings out of it and always test. That's another big thing when it comes to paid ads especially, is always just test to see what the market says about what you have.
Kind of incredible. I could see how that would really work very well by how it's one of those marketing principles where you get social proof.
Definitely. And then if you add in scarcity, I know you guys are huge marketers, so you guys know all these things, but definitely once you add in that scarcity aspect as well, That is another tactic. And the cool thing with all this anyway is we all have our— their best intention in mind, right? Like, my goal is to help people, right? Like, so for credit repair companies, my goal is to help people fix their credit. And the way I can help more people fix their credit is by having these different marketing strategies in place. Plus, it opens you up to actually do the fulfillment side, not so much like in the weeds on the front end trying to market every single day. Great.
Well, Devin, I know you prepared some stuff for our audience, so I think we could jump into that and love to see what you prepared.
All right. So here's an abbreviated version of my intro and then also what we do and kind of like how we do it. Right. So, so basically just a little bit about myself. Daniel, you did a great job kind of going over this. Um, but just like real, real quick. So basically, um, who I am once again, Devin Shaw, and I've won the SaaSpreneur Award the past 4 years. So from 2022 to 2025, um, we work with many 7 and 8 figure earners, a lot of CRC millionaires. And like mentioned before, we currently work with a lot of credit repair tax professionals and funding companies as well. So just to kind of show just a few of the reviews, these are super old now. From this picture, but like Ricardo Soto and his business partner Danny, they are CRC millionaires. And then we also have Luis Blandon here. He's soon to be, if he's not currently going to be a CRC millionaire. And then also my guy Smitty as well, who's now an 8-figure entrepreneur. We build all of his systems. So one of the things I was talking about earlier in this presentation is kind of the thing as an entrepreneur all of us hope for, right? So this was a moment back in 2023. I made a post and I had 300+ comments on it. Basically, I had just won my HighLevel SaaSpreneur Award. This is at the point where I was still in agency and I was like, hey, we're basically— we just had this award. We're giving away all this stuff for free. And that was my lead magnet, right? Getting people in for free. And I did not expect I would get this many comments on a post at that point. All of my posts, the most I think I'd ever had was like 40. And it's kind of the old adage of the mechanic that has the messed up car, the plumber that has the leaking pipes. Well, I'm the automation guy that didn't have automation set up in my own business. And this moment was really my turning point, right? So I was thinking that it was going to be my turning point because I just had this, this award. I'm super excited. I'm going to get people to sign up for my software. I'm ecstatic, but it actually ended up being my turning point on realizing that systems are actually way more important than I could have ever imagined. Even though I was selling it, I didn't fully grasp it until this moment, and I was on the front line of trying to convert 300+ people into clients. Sadly though, at the end of this, I think we only got like 20 people from it, because one thing you'll learn with Facebook is if you message people the same thing too many times, they will block you. And that blocking could be a day or it could be a week. In my case, it was like a week. So by that time, yeah, people move on pretty quick. So I wanted to always— I always show this piece just to kind of say like, hey, I'm in y'all's shoes. I understand what you guys go through. I've seen the highs, I've seen the lows, and my goal is to make it so that your lows don't become a moment that you thought was going to be a high point. So just kind of going through this real quick because I want to show like the current system piece. So this is the marketing funnel. We've talked a lot about marketing and I really liked this pyramid because what it does for people is it puts an actual graphic on what actually is happening in a lead's mind, right? So just imagine you're a new CRO, you just signed up for Credit Repair Cloud and you're like, okay, I'm super excited. I have all this marketing material. I'm ready to go. And you make one post, right? You make one post and it might get one like or two likes, and you're like, wow, this was a flop. This did not work at all. Um, no, this isn't for me. But here's the thing, let's just say you have 5,000 Facebook friends. They're in this first level right here, right? People are now aware that you are doing credit repair, right? So yes, they might not have liked your post. Yeah, they, they might not have given you that that encouragement you were hoping for, but you have a segment of your audience that is now aware of what you do. Now with this, this awareness stage can last from anywhere from your first post or it could be your 20th post. This is where consistency comes in and you should probably be making 3 to 5 posts a day about what you do. Of course, like we were talking about earlier, please mix in your actual life. You are not all of a sudden a, uh, a 10-figure credit repair company and all I have to do is post about my business. No, mixing your, your real life in there. But you want to make sure in this awareness stage people are like, okay, they're serious about this credit repair journey. Um, the next piece here is consideration. So this consideration piece is also super important because once someone's aware, they're like, oh, okay, cool, that's cool. And they say again, oh, okay, that's fine, that's fine. Well, then the third or fourth time, let's just say they're like, wow, I was just talking to my wife and she had mentioned I want to purchase a home, and I just looked at my credit on Credit Karma and I just saw that I had a collection, right? I didn't even realize it. I didn't get the letter or whatever it may be, but I have a collection and I know I can't get this home with this collection on here. So that is now in the consideration phase, right? I'm considering you because I'm seeing you're helping people with collections, you're helping people with charge-offs. So then they land in this consideration phase. Well, when they're in this phase, this is why it's really important that your profile is set up properly with that self-sign-up link somewhere in the bio, right? Somewhere in the bio you need to have, if you're ready to start this journey, click down below. And they can click that link because during this consideration phase, the next thing is the conversion phase. This is where they actually click on your link. Let's just say they only just fill out the form, right? Like I always, when I talk about systems, I think worst case. I never think the actual, like, them paying you money. I'm always like, nope, someone's going to take like 6 months, but how do we make it 3 months or 1 month? But in this conversion phase, this is where someone's actually going to purchase, right? They're actually going to go through, they're going to opt in, they're going to go through all the steps, they're going to put in their card, they're going to purchase credit monitoring, they're going to onboard, and now you have a client, right? You're excited, they're excited, you're helping them on this journey, this life journey that they have. Now here's the last piece, which is loyalty. I see a lot of people miss this aspect. Some of my biggest clients have this loyalty piece down packed. When someone graduates from their program, they literally have someone on their team whose only purpose is on the loyalty. Every customer should turn into 3 customers. I say this a lot with a lot of different things. I've mentioned it earlier with the post as well, where every comment should turn into 3 comments or 4. Same with customers. Every customer should turn into 3 customers. So if you're sitting there right now, you're like, my goal this year is to get 1,000 clients. I don't know why I made my math so difficult here, but you should be like, okay, I need to focus on getting 333 clients or maybe 334. And then from there, have this loyalty aspect which will have me hit my goal of 1,000+ clients this year. Right. So loyalty can be done a lot of different ways. Once again, the CRC Marketing Hub makes this super simple because you can actually build out the client graduation automations, right? You can ask for the reviews, you can get a review, you can do follow-ups, automated follow-ups for the review. You can do different things to basically say like, hey, do you know anyone that, um, also needs credit repair? And it's kind of funny, um, in a way, but usually people that need credit repair probably know someone else that needs credit repair. So loyalty is super huge, and that's why I really love this marketing funnel, and I always show it when I do these presentations, right? So like This is huge. Take a screenshot, print it out, put it on your wall. But it's good for you to know, like, as you're going through this journey, one, you're not alone. There's a lot of people out there posting every single day that are getting 1 or 2 leads a day. But also to just know is part of a process, right? So staying consistent in that process. Now, talking about processes, let's just go to the current system. So this actually is most businesses, like 99% of businesses. And what I'm actually showing here— so this is actually a landing page from the CRC Marketing Hub, and this landing page, first of all, is really good. And what I'm really showing though is the fact that it's bigger than just what you see on the top layer. So what I have here is like traffic. So with the traffic, you have organic, Organic means free. So Facebook ads, um, or not Facebook ads, sorry, um, Facebook posting, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, YouTube Shorts, whatever your preferred method is, going to events, um, whatever your preferred method is that you're going basically for free, that is your traffic source. And in this example, I'm going to assume everyone watching this video is not using a JotForm or any other just random form out there that they're collecting information on. But I'm going to assume you guys are using the CRC Marketing Hub, right? So that you're actually doing it proper and you're sending your self-signup link out. Well, once they go to this link, and I know the picture is kind of small, but on this last slide here is basically the follow-up. So this is for someone that opts in and they don't purchase, and then they go through like the text reminders, right? So some people think like, oh man, this failed. Like, I just put like 50 leads in here, none of them turn into clients. Well, no, they're being nurtured on the back end. Um, but here's what we do over here at Devin Knows GHL to kind of like speed up this nurture process just a little bit, right? So what we do is we use AI. So these are my little AI guys. These guys are the real MVPs. The cool thing about them is they don't, they don't eat, they don't sleep, they don't take vacations, nothing. I mean, I just give them a high five every now and then. So let me just show you the Devin Knows GHL way, right? So what we have here is a landing page that my team built. So what we— of course, we're— we've been doing GoHighLevel for some time now. So what we do is we build, um, GoHighLevel funnel pages. So like you see here on this thing, so you would do the exact same amount of traffic, right? So posting on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, doing YouTube videos, all those different traffic sources, we still send them to our landing page, right? So at the end of the day, a landing page is a landing page, right? They all have buttons on them. So they click the button, they opt in, and then they go to the exact same piece here with the, with the follow-up, right? Let's say they don't convert, right? I always think like worst-case scenario, they don't convert. So they don't convert. And they go through this follow-up. Well, Devin, what do we do here? Like, why do you say with AI? And what I'm going to do is I'm going to show you guys. So basically, in your CRC Marketing Hub, on this left bar, you have AI agents. So you can click on the AI agents and then Conversation AI. And then these are two AI agents that I created before this podcast, right? So don't worry about the ebook one. I'm going to show you guys that here shortly. But what we're going to focus on is this lead one, right? So basically putting someone on our staff that's going to help us turn these leads into clients faster. Though the setup CRC has right now is perfect. One of the biggest things if you're just starting is honestly use it, right? Everyone wants to like perfect everything. Nothing's ever perfect, so just use the system. And then as you're using it, then you can start adding on the add-ons, right? Think of a car with a supercharger. Or I'm a Texas guy, so a truck with the lift kit and big tires. So the truck though is still perfectly fine. But let's take a look at this Lead AI. We're gonna click on bot goals, and what we're gonna do here is I'm gonna go through a test, right? So in this system, you can actually build out your AI. Now for this, for the intent of this podcast, I'm not gonna go through how to create your AI agent. But we do have a school platform that you guys will have access to where we go over how to create these AI agents and how to literally make them either a you, right? You can literally put your name. So I put my name Devin in here and people think they could talk to me or a team member's name. But basically here, once you set up your AI agent on this right side, you can actually test your bot. So Let's pretend in this follow-up someone opts in, they don't make a purchase, and basically the system's like, hey Devin, um, I see you started the journey, uh, but you didn't fully sign up yet. Was like, did you have any questions or are you ready to get started? So I could say something like, hey, sorry, my kids woke up, I do want to start my credit. All right. So just think about it. So here's my AI bot. No problem at all. Perfect. Before enrolling, you'll be able to review the full service details and required disclosures. And then what I did here was I said demo signup link, right? So it just has a demo signup link. And then the AI is asking, would you like to complete that now? So let's just say though, I'm not someone that wants to like instantly take action and The cool thing with AI is no response is ever the exact same. The reason this demo here went straight to sending the link is because I said, yeah, I want to start fixing my credit. But let's just say I said, wait, I want to buy a house in 2 years but have collections. Do you help with that? So it may be possible that, uh, depending on your credit income, that, uh, so on and so forth. Our service can help and address collections if they're inaccurate, incomplete, unverifiable, or outdated. Do you have any other questions before we begin? Right? So this AI is basically set up to answer any questions that this individual may have. Pretty much previous to this, this was not possible in automations that I was setting up for years. I would never ask a question in which it would prompt a response because I knew my clients would not respond, right? There's just no way if you're getting 50 messages an hour you would respond to all these questions. So this is just an example, right, of something that you can do inside your marketing hub. Like you see in the top left corner, so you can do this inside of your, uh, marketing hub. And once it's built, it's honestly— it's like set it and forget it. That's honestly like one of like the best things about this system. So that is on the lead side, right? So for your leads, you can basically go through this process where they opt in, they land on the follow-up, and all of these text messages are asking open-ended questions, and AI is going to kick in as soon as possible. But like you see on this last piece, you now see, but now what? right? Like, okay, now what? Like, what happens if Devin never responds, or he never responds to any of these text messages? Well, what we're gonna do is we're actually gonna do a downsell, right? This is something I see a lot of credit card companies, especially as they grow, and we talked about it earlier, getting over that hump, right? So over that hump, and basically you're like, okay, I have these leads, they're in long-term nurture, I'm getting nothing from them. I will say, just kind of side note, and I once again, I show this in my school, is you should be tagging them and doing promotions and everything else. But let's just say you don't have that set up. What we're gonna do is we're gonna do a downsell. So this is an ebook funnel. So basically this would be an ebook funnel that would be set up, and the idea and like what this would look like is they go through, let's say, a 7-day to 14-day follow-up sequence via text and email. And basically, um, what will happen is if they don't respond to any of these, eventually a message will come out that says like, hey Devin, I don't want to keep bothering you, but I do have another option available if credit repair is just not the right fit. You can change those words around. That's the cool thing with ChatGPT is it makes it really simple to change those words. But we basically do like our last like Hoorah, right? Like, I have this other option for you if credit repair isn't it, because they might have seen the price and the price was too high. And that's going to be our ebook. So we show them the ebook and let's take a look at what that looks like, right? So what we're going to do is we're going to go back to our Conversation AI and I'm going to click on Credit Repair Ebook Demo Bot. And this bot is once again set up to sell the ebook. So that's basically exactly what this one's set up. So we got the additional information, we have the goal, basically we have our guardrails is what it's called to make sure we stay compliant. We never offer anything that's not compliant. But let's just say the client said like, honestly, your services are just too expensive right now. Right? So this would be an honest message. And to be honest, most CROs would not know how to answer this, right? Like, if you don't have a digital product, and I know a few other speakers actually went over like the digital product piece too, but if you don't have a digital product to sell, like, what do you do when someone asks that? But the AI doesn't even stutter, right? Like, it's like, if you're looking for more affordable, we offer a DIY credit repair ebook that guides you through reviewing your credit reports and disputing inaccurate so on and so forth, right? Um, or the link to check it out. You'll be like, oh, that sounds way better. Sure, I'll check it out. And then boom. So that's great. Here's the link to get started. So of course, in mine, I have a demo, so it says DIY ebook link. Um, and then once again, we're always pushing the sell. Would you like to get started today? So that is having AI in your business, and this is just like super like high level of like what you can do with AI, right? Like this is like just scratching the surface of AI because in here you'll see stuff like— and once again, I'm going to reiterate this, this is all in your Marketing Hub and included for free— is you have like your voice AI, right? You have an Agent Studio, whole other animal, right? So you have knowledge bases. So this is actually loading it with your SOPs or whatever knowledge base you want to set in here. Content AI, so helping you with your posting. So all of this stuff is in there just on the AI side, which is like 10% of this entire system. Basically from here, we're able, like I just showed, to sell ebooks and basically convert someone to a client. And by doing such, this also allows us to potentially ascend. So basically when I say the word ascend, for some of you guys getting into marketing, Think of like a staircase, right? So what we did was we showed someone the top of the staircase, the second floor. They said no. Okay, cool. We just walked down to the first floor and this was our first floor offer, right? An ebook, $47. Um, so here they purchased the ebook. Cool. We just took one more step going towards the second floor. So we can now offer different offers all the way back to our original credit repair offer. So think of like a circle, right? So it's like a large circle. and we just keep people in our ecosystem, pushing them right back to the credit repair side. And the best part is you as the business owner had no clue any of this happened. It all happened with automations and AI. The only thing you're seeing is, okay, cool, I'm converting people into clients and I'm happy about it. So that's just a real quick overview, y'all, of, uh, uh, what you can do with, of course, your marketing hub. And then also when you start just utilizing different aspects and really pushing it to that next level.
Amazing, Devin. With, um, you definitely shown there's a lot of power to the lead nurture part. Like, what is the next issue people run into after they're making all these sales, they're getting all this traffic in, they're making all these sales with all these AI bots?
So the thing that people hit the wall as they use AI and they're starting to make more sales is you start getting into edge cases, right? So thinking of like tech. Right. So there's always edge cases that no matter how much ChatGPT or like how long you stare at a whiteboard, you cannot even imagine where someone's going to go outside of a guardrail. Or if you have a lot of clients, a group of them go outside. So that's really the next biggest thing is as a business owner, you're really increasing your knowledge so you can hire someone like myself to build it, but you kind of have to stay on top of it as well. And you as an individual have to develop on that system side as well. So that when you see, like, for example, let's just say a lot of people were becoming clients and they're like, hey, is there a way to fast-track my credit repair? We know that's not real, right? Like, like, you can't fast-track your credit repair. But when it comes to AI, there's a lot of things that happen that are weird when people start saying the same thing over and over and over. The AI kind of has like this phantom memory piece And it all of a sudden can start offering something that doesn't exist. So that's honestly the next piece is just figuring out those edge cases and setting up hard guardrails to make sure like, no, this is what we offer. We offer a single plan. We offer a couple's plan. This is exactly how it works. We get this, this, this. You give us this, this, this, and then we start the process. Um, so It's just really becoming just a better business owner, right? Like staying on top of your business, not thinking like, okay, I paid the money and I disappear, but just staying on top of it, looking at the conversations, making sure the AI is doing its job correctly. And as long as you do that, then you don't have to yourself and everything's fine.
So, Devin, you're going to be speaking on stage at Credit Repair Expo in Dallas. What are you planning to teach that people may not be expecting?
So something I'll be teaching is basically these strategies that I just quickly went through is we'll be structuring this to everyone that attends and then also giving you guys, we'll call the shortcut to setting all this up, right? So if you attend the expo, we will have something that we're going to provide you to make all this possible. So I want my session to really feel like an implementation session where you can go in there and you will honestly leave better within 30 minutes and your business will excel.
Very cool. And what do you want us— what would you say to people who do start poking around in there and get overwhelmed?
So one thing I always tell everyone is it's not hard, it's just unfamiliar, right? So when I started this, yes, I like systems. For some reason my brain is programmed like that. But CRC does a really good job with the trainings, like a really good job. If you just follow the step 1, 2, and 3. Also, if you feel overwhelmed, they have onboarding calls. So book an onboarding call. And then also one of the big things is your A2P call. So get your onboarding call booked and then your A2P call booked. And then there's a ton of resources out there, right? On YouTube, in the Facebook group. I know I'm starting to post a lot more in there. So just really absorb things, understand it, and then you can test in your account. Um, kind of like I just showed here with these AI bots, right? It has a whole test mode. So you can test before you put any leads in there or clients in there. Make sure everything looks good, have all your calls, and you'll be perfectly fine.
Okay, I got a tactical question for you. If someone watching this, they're doing 10 clients a month, maybe 25 clients a month, or they've got a business that's growing fast, they're getting 50 or more clients a month, what changes at each stage there from a system standpoint?
So what changes the most at each interval is your knowledge of your system, right? So you become a lot more knowledgeable. Now, the good thing is, in those different intervals, let's say 10, 25 to 50 clients a month, is as long as it's set up correctly, which honestly, the CRC Marketing Hub, if you're doing 50 clients a month, it's perfect, right? It is perfect for you. Literally just send people to it. And it's kind of funny, it's the adage of trust the system, right? Just trust it. Go in there. A lot of this is set up. I've gone through it myself, and it's always funny. I go in with the something's broken approach. Nothing was broken. So, so just go in there, trust the system, and as you're going through it and you're seeing your leads and your clients converting and everyone's happy, then you might start making tweaks to make it your own, right? So that it speaks more like you, or different things you might see, then you can start adding to it. But The main thing is you'll just learn a lot about your system. Always be a student to the game. I'm 4 or 5 years in. Every single day I'm in the hub or in GoHighLevel, and I'm still learning things every single day. So just stay a student. I know a lot of these things I'm saying might have someone sitting back scratching their head right now and saying like, what in the world? I'm still stuck on the CTA piece. Like, he's talking about some AI. Like, I don't even know what call to action is. So what we actually created— and I'll share my screen again— so we created a school group, and in this school group we go over a lot of different things, right? So we break things down, um, I would say pretty simple, right, where we go over different topics so that you have a baseline understanding of your system. Now, all of this stuff is not needed when you first start because once again CRC does provide you onboarding calls and then like the A2P calls as well. So you have a really good base, but the cool thing is with these videos, like this one here is 13 minutes just going over an overview of how all this works, where to click, like all this stuff, where to go. Um, from there we have like the CRC marketing hub. So having stuff, so setting it up. So this is a 35-minute video that I did. Testing your system. So a 19-minute video of basically how to test it, how to make sure everything's working. We go over— so we're adding some stuff to it like client communication, automation examples, common CRC issues that I see could happen. We're gonna have sections in here on text and email automations. We mentioned this earlier, DM automations, social media call-to-action setups. Selling digital products. This is probably one of the biggest things. I mean, you guys have this powerful system that's going to allow you to collect tons of leads. And as I know, and you guys will find out as you go, is not everyone is willing to sign up for the full service, right? So what we do is, okay, I don't want to just have you just exist in my system. I have a lot of digital products that could also help you. And then also setting up the AI. So we have a whole step-by-step AI piece. And then a VIP module where this is actually taking the AI bot to the next level, right? So basically having the AI really feel like a member of your team to the point that no one knows it's AI. We set it up with delays on the text messaging so that it feels real. In the evening time, it's saying good evening. In the afternoon, good afternoon. In the morning, good morning. All types of stuff. So we do have this school community that we are building out. We're constantly adding new stuff to it. And yeah, it'd be cool if you guys check it out. We have a whole community in here, people asking questions. I go live at least once a week answering questions. And then this is basically where I exist if you have any questions at all concerning that stuff.
Amazing. Well, I think we should switch gears right now and go rapid fire answer with the first thing that pops into your head. Okay.
All right. Perfect.
What's your business superpower?
Organization.
And what's your business kryptonite?
Perfection.
What's one system you refuse to live without?
Um, the Marketing Hub.
