How to encourage a vibrant data culture with DataCamp Enterprise

Elena and a co-presenter share four ways admins can build data culture: run leaderboard competitions with prizes, create custom skill challenges like a Power BI Hero Challenge, launch hackathons using DataCamp Workspace with real company data, and promote certifications in Data Scientist, Data Analyst, and Data Engineer roles.

Hi, I'm Elena from datacamp. Welcome to the last episode of our Admin University series where we explore best practices to help you launch a successful learning program with datacamp. In previous videos we covered setting up learners on datacamp, driving up engagement through custom tracks and assignments, monitoring program success, and reporting on learning outcomes. Today we'll focus on how datacamp can help you encourage a vibrant data culture within your organization. We will discuss the four key tactics and that proved to be successful with datacamp for business customers. Even if you do not implement every single tactic, just including one can be extremely helpful in fostering a vibrant data community around data upskilling in your organization. The first tactic is to promote healthy competition around learning by using datacamp leaderboards. We have briefly covered leaderboards as a tool to track learner engagement.
Additionally, you can use the leaderboard to run official competitions for learners to complete the most courses in 30 days or to get the most XP. Sharing testimonials of the champions and gifting them with prizes can help motivate less engaged learners to start completing more learning on datacamp. The second tactic can help you focus your learners attention on a specific skill or technology gap. You can use custom tracks to create a challenge and invite users to participate for a prize. For example, you can launch a Power Bi Hero Challenge which will include courses, exercises and webinars related to this technology. This strategy doesn't differ much from assigning custom tracks, but a slight change in positioning it as a challenge with a chance to win a prize makes it more attractive for learners to participate and spend several extra hours improving their skills. The third tactic we want to share is launching hackathons. You using datacamp Workspace datacamp Workspace is a modern data science notebook in the cloud that helps learners apply the skills to real world problems. Organizations can run datacamp Workspace in a restricted mode which will allow learners to use only authorized data and packages. Your internal data experts can prepare a company's data set, come up with a challenging task, and turn it into a workspace challenge. Your learners can form teams and try to solve the problem collaboratively right in the browser, no matter what location they are physically in. Hackathons could be a great tool to promote collaboration and create healthy competition around applying data skills directly to what matters in your organization. Last but not least, you can promote datacamp certifications among employees to solidify their learnings and further foster a growth culture. Getting certified makes learners feel more confident in their newly acquired skills. It can also be a stepping stone for promotions and internal job Mobility certifications are included with your datacamp for business subscription, so make sure to promote them to your learners and allow them to cement their skills. Find more information on our Data Scientist, Data Analyst, and Data Engineer certifications in the video.
