A speaker argues for planetary government, saying humanity's challenges are now global or local, not national. The nation-state, built for industrial-era problems, no longer fits what we actually need to solve.

I'm actually a fan of planetary government. I think in general, we as a species have two sets of problems. We have global problems and we have local problems. We no longer have like France sized problems. So I tend to like government that is very big and very small. Right now, the medium size seems to me it was very important in an industrial age, but it seems less important today. That is a bigger conversation than this.
