A governance leader explains how to build trust with business teams: frame your role as a partner helping them use AI responsibly, and actually practice AI yourself so you stay credible. Hands-on expertise beats distance.
Do you have any more advice on like how you can get cross team interactions between like a governance team and between the people who sort of rely on governance to sort of approve or deny projects?
I think the language you use matters. It's all centered around like, how do we activate data, how do we activate AI use? We're here to help you do that responsibly and we're here to be a partner with you doing that. The second thing that I think is important, especially for people in governing roles, is you kind of need to be a practitioner practitioner to be able to have credibility with the business stakeholders. You need to practice and use AI even kind of on the side, but at a level that makes you come across as not being like living under a rock. And.
Then lastly.
You'D just be a really good leader and a good cross functional speaker and communicator because at the end of the day you're, you're trying to get teams that are innovating with technology to ensure that they are putting some of the governing policies and principles and things in place.
