Learn to visualize network data in R using igraph, dplyr, ggplot2, and ggraph. The tutorial shows how to encode edge weights with color, from black for strongest ties to light gray for weakest ones.
Chapters
In this lesson, we will begin visualizing networks. In addition to the igraph package, we will use the dplyr and ggplot2 packages to explore the properties of the network. We will also integrate these packages with the G graph package, which we will use to visualize the networks. We will use the G graph function to visualize the network, which works by extending gplot graphics using using geometries for ties and nodes. In this figure, the jump edge link function was used to visualize tie weights by varying the shades of the ties. The highest weighted ties are black, while the lowest weighted ties are light gray. Let's start visualizing.
