Dave opens with a joke about graveyards, then reframes the question: instead of asking where you're dying to get in, ask where you're living to get in. He cites Romans 6:23 on sin and eternal life, urging listeners to treat that gift as something to open and use, not leave on a shelf.

This is Dave on the Edge. You know what a dad joke is, don't you? It's the kind of joke you tell and then someone next to you goes, "Oh, that's a dad joke." One of the ones I remember my dad always doing is every time we'd go past a graveyard he'd say, "Oh, such-and-such graveyard. People are dying to get in there." And then we were all supposed to laugh because that's what's required when dad tells a dad joke. And you know, when I was thinking about it, graveyards, we all do die to get into a graveyard, or we get in when we do die. But I don't think the question should be, "Where are you dying to get in life?" but, "Where are you living to get in life?" You know, rather than thinking about pie-in-the-sky, by-and-by, who are you today? Who are you leading towards? Where are you taking people when you're walking your journey? There's a text in the Bible that says, "The wages of sin is death." But it doesn't stop there. It says, "But the gift of God is eternal life." So what are you doing with that gift? Are you tucking it on the shelf and putting it away and dusting it off once in a while so it looks good? Or are you opening it up? You know, when we open a gift, we can use it. I'd invite you today to open the gift that God has given you. Open eternal life, share it with others, and rather than die to get into heaven, live to get into heaven now and to take people with you. This has been Dave on the Edge. Where do you stand?
