In this YouTube read‑aloud, Dave Edgren narrates the children’s picture book Grandma Wombat by Jackie French, illustrated by Bruce Wattley. The story follows Grandma Wombat through a week of simple, repetitive activities—scratching, eating, sleeping, and babysitting—interspersed with playful commentary about the rude, bouncing kangaroos. A central episode involves Grandma Wombat discovering there are no carrots, solving the problem, and then finding and enjoying carrots before napping. The narration is punctuated by brief sound‑effect interjections and reactions from two additional speakers, adding a light, interactive feel for a young audience.
