Lucifer was heaven's worship leader until pride made him question why God alone received praise. He convinced a third of the angels they deserved recognition too, sparked a rebellion, and when God cast him out, those angels followed him into darkness.
Chapters
When Lucifer was in heaven, he was the choir director, pretty much, in heaven. He was the right-hand sing-song dude. He was the worship leader. And he started thinking, "Hey, I'm pretty good at what I do, and why don't people sing songs to me? This isn't fair." And then so he started talking to the other angels, you know, "Hey, we've been created in, you know, greatness. We should get a little of these kudos." as well. And why aren't people saying nice things about us? Maybe we should ask if we could have, you know. And he got a third of the angels to go, yeah, maybe God's being a bit unfair. Maybe all the worship going to God is, you know, that's a bit like, why is God so arrogant? And so he got this third of angels. And when he was ousted out of heaven, he took a third of the angels with him because he had convinced them that maybe it was good to try another leader for a while. So they tried him.
