If I were looking for a job today, I would not just be applying online. There's no way you can just keep throwing your resume into the ecosystem on the internet and hoping that it's going to come back for you via the ATS. The other thing that I absolutely would not do is just wait for someone to call me. So you've applied to the job, maybe you've even gotten a first interview or a phone screen, and now you're just going to wait for this person to contact you. You need to be proactive and reach out to them. Now, I'm not saying that you should blow their phone up or just keep spamming them in their inbox, but you should show that you're interested in the role. And then the third thing that you should do is you should not hide in shame. I can't tell you how many times folks lose their job and they're so embarrassed to go back and say, hey, I need help, or I've lost my job. Do not hide in shame. Maybe take a week or so to wallow, but then after that, get up, start making calls and doing what you need to do to let people know that you're looking for a job. This is exactly the way to attack your job search.
