John Healy, a CFA-qualified financial advisor in Atlanta, uses New Constructs because it automatically digs through footnotes to verify what companies actually earned, not just what they reported. He says it catches earnings manipulation better than competitors like Holt and AFG.

Hi, my name is John Healy. I'm an independent financial advisor in Atlanta, Georgia, and I do a lot of investment research for my clients managing individual stock portfolios. I'm a CFA, and so when I look at systems to try to help me manage portfolios, I've got quite a bit of experience in doing that, evaluating systems. I've used similar tools that New Constructs has available, like Holt and AFG, institutional investment research tools like those. But with those systems, data from the financial statements isn't nearly as complete as it is in the New Constructs system. Using Holt and AFG, I remember spending a lot of time confirming the accuracy of the data used in the calculations. With New Constructs, there is little need to confirm it. They've already done much of that work. And And that work involves scouring through the footnotes of the financial statements to make sure that the reported numbers accurately reflect the true economic condition of the company, not just what's reported. And we all know reported numbers are often manipulated. When I first looked at New Constructs, I was very impressed with this scouring process and the high degree to which they use technology to scour through the footnotes of the financial statements. They do a great job showing which companies are reporting high-quality earnings and which are not. So for financial advisors like me who manage individual stock portfolios for their clients, I find that the New Constructs approach is much more effective than other systems available on the market today.
