Dean Graziosi breaks down three habits of successful people: hunger to improve, focus to avoid dilution, and a scorecard to track if you're winning. He uses examples like book sales targets and cost-per-acquisition metrics to show how these work in business and life.

Would you play a baseball game if you didn't know the score? Would you play a football game? Would you start a company if you didn't know, you know, the score is winning? Are you impacting lives and making money? Welcome to the Millionaire Success Habits podcast. All success starts right here, hands down. I believe these three things are the simple equation to your next level of success. Achievement. And let's just put it bluntly, Winning. Hey, it's Dean. And these are things I tell my team, I tell my children, I tell my family, I tell my friends. So many people say, how do you achieve in this? How do you accomplish this? How do you break, you know, into Facebook advertising? How do you make a book sell? How do you do so well in real estate? How do you become a good dad? How do you become a, you know, great at being a husband? And not just for me, but for anyone. There's a fundamental practice that truly allows me to go to the next level, and I think it'll do the same for you. And I think it's the same exact three things that anyone you see being successful, from an Olympian to someone doing well online to running a company, to being a parent, to anything in between, they're doing these three things. And let me tell you what they are. The first one is hunger. You gotta be hungry. You know, it's so funny. Even people on my team, let's take my marketing team that book ads on Facebook, There'll be some times where the Facebook ads aren't working, and so many people want to go to the tactical, to the science part of it, to the framework or the logistics behind it. And I'll look at my team and say, you know, when you were here for the first six months, you guys were hungry. You were hungry for achievement. You are hungry to learn. You are hungry for a gold ribbon. You are hungry for a pat on the back. You are hungry because you wanted to grow as a human. You. You were hungry because you wanted to accomplish something you never did before. And now, guess what? You got complacent. You got. It became status quo. It became normal. You haven't found a new thing to be hungry for. And at the end of the day, all we need to be hungry for is a better version of ourself tomorrow than we are today. Think about that. Think about this in your personal life. If you're a great parent, you are hungry to be a better dad or mom tomorrow than you were yesterday. If you have a great, loving relationship, you're hungry for that love, for that passion for that intimacy. And you do what it takes to find out if your relationship is struggling, if your income is struggling, if your body is not in the shape you want, if the. Your. Your kids are, you know, and your relationship with your kids isn't perfect, then you lost a hunger to achieve more. You got bored, you got overwhelmed, you got complacent. You just let it be. So one of the three big ones is hunger. Find a way to be driven again, to grow, to evolve, move. Sometimes we surpass our goals and we lose our hunger. Just move the beacon of light further out. Find a new thing to be hunger for. You're a great dad. Be an amazing dad. You're a supportive, loving, caring, trusting wife. Find another level and push it out further. And find a way to regain that hunger. Okay. Hunger is number one. Number two is focus. Now, this is really important. Again, back to my team, who say, booking Facebook ads. Amazing team. Love these guys. But the conversation I had when I went through the big three with them is one, some of you guys have lost your hunger. You came here alive on fire. But then some of you not only lost your hunger, you're starting to think of working on other projects. Well, if I do this for Dean, maybe I can do it myself. And I support anybody who wants to go be an entrepreneur. I want them to do their own thing. But sometimes when we take our eye off the prize, we start mastering one thing. We get one relationship going good. It's like, oh, could I do another one? We get one company doing good. It's like, oh, maybe this isn't the most profitable company. Should I try another one? We start diluting our focus, and we start looking for shiny objects out on the horizon. And when we lose our focus, we lose momentum. You see, again, back to my team. When I had this conversation with them, I said, some of you, like I said, are thinking about doing your own brand. Great. I hope you do it someday. But while you're here, we need focus on this. Some of you are focusing on, well, if I work for Dean doing this, I wonder if I could be that next level. Now, I want everybody to grow, but until it's time to move, your focus needs to be on what you're doing. Because you can't think about two things at once right now. And as I'm talking to you, as you're listening, think about this. Can you think about the Statue of Liberty in New York's harbor and Mount Vesuvius at the same time? Go ahead, try it. You can't. You can't think about two things at once. Now, our brain works really fast, and you can go from the statue that France gave America to the volcano, but you can't do it at the same time. They might be quick. And it's the same thing with your focus. If you're focusing on booking Facebook ads but then trying to figure out how I could run the sales department, if you're focusing on Facebook ads but saying, oh, well, maybe. Maybe I could do my own brand, I got to start doing research, all of a sudden, the focus is diluted. And if your focus is diluted just 5 or 10%, I promise you, you won't get the momentum that you desire, you crave, and you want. So, number one, hunger. Find a way to be hungry again. Number two, focus. Now, here's the thing. It doesn't mean you have to focus and be this person, do that job, be in that relationship, whatever it is. You don't have to do it for the rest of your life if it's not meant for you. But while you're in it, I'm telling you, if you want exponential growth, you want to win, you want to grow, you want to be the best version of yourself, you need to focus on it, because then you'll find new ways to break through barriers, you'll find new way to go to another level, you'll find ways to create new opportunities. All comes from focus. And the third one is a scorecard. This is one of the ones most people miss. How do you know if you're winning the game? Now, I know I've used this example because I have an amazing team, and I'm just talking about the guys in the Facebook group. But what I realized is, and I'm a big part of this, is I didn't have a clear enough scorecard to let them know if they were winning. Would you play a baseball game if you didn't know the score? Would you play a football game? Would you start a company if you didn't know you know the score is winning? Are you impacting lives and making money? Right. We all need a scorecard, but sometimes we don't clarify it enough. When you go to a baseball game, it's easy. It's up on the big board, inning two, the score is three to two. I gotta fight. I gotta be hungry. I gotta focus. I want to do what I want to win on that scoreboard. So do you have a scoreboard in your life? Do you have a scorecard in your life? Because how do you know if you're winning? The game. And sometimes we do surpass our goals. We don't even realize it. We don't pat ourselves on the back. We don't have any hunger left. And we're like, yeah, I guess that's good. No, keep score. So for example, again going back to my team, I found a way to give them hunger again. I got them aligned and focused. And then we set metrics in place. Hey, we want to sell 2,000 books a week. We want to impact 2,000 lives. We want to be able to afford to sell those books. So the cost per acquisition, you know, how much can we spend to sell a book? We can spend $25 to get a book out. Okay, there's the scorecard. We can spend $25 each to get someone to buy one of Dean's books because then we can impact their lives. Great. I want to do, in my department, I'm going to be personally responsible for a thousand books a week. Great. So pay now. My scorecard is $25 cost per acquisition. I want a thousand books. I can't spend more than X on a monthly basis. Great. All of a sudden they can look and go, I got 1200 people, not a thousand to get engaged in the book. It was only $24 cost per acquisition. All of a sudden these three things come in alignment. So for you, if you want to get in better shape, what's the scorecard? What metrics do you want to hit if you want to improve the relationship in your life? What is the scorecard? How will you know when your wife opens up to you again and starts talking to you? Or when your husband looks at you in a certain way? What are the metrics you are going to compare your evolution to? Because that's the only way we can measure progress. And again, if you know anything about me, you know I'm all about the culture of progress. You don't have to look at someone else's life. You should not compare yourself to other people's results. What you should do is compare yourself to yesterday. And how do we compare ourselves to yesterday if we don't have a scorecard to know where we were yesterday? So start creating metrics in the area of your life you want to improve. If you're deciding you want to be in the self education business, you want to be in the knowledge industry, impact other people's lives, what's the scorecard? You know, this month I want to understand my superpower and I want to design my pages. That's a scorecard. Did you make the scorecard okay, the score, you beat it, right? All of a sudden when you're in business, you impacted 100 lives the first month. Amazing. What's the scorecard? The metrics are next month. I want to impact 150. Go back to the hunger, go back to the focus and measure it against the scorecard. Now, as simple as those three sound, they are the three things that allow me to be a better dad, a better husband, a better leader, help impact, write books, get my journals out to the world and all the other pieces of my life. Take those three pieces, implement them into your life. And then lastly, I just got to share this. It's pretty cool if you're listening to this as I released it, we are only about a week away from me launching my new journal and this process, I call it outcome journaling, you are going to lose your mind. I'm not big on planners. They confuse me, they overwhelm me, they're too complicated. I'm not big on apps that help you plan your day. They cost me more stress than anything. But I've been journaling in a specific way for God over 25 years and I call it my outcome journaling process. How do you put all those skills? How do you craft a plan in your journal to create hunger, to align your focus and how to stay accountable and create your scorecard within your journal? There's a process that you're going to absolutely freak out. It's not available right now, but I'm telling you it's coming. You're going to lose your mind. It's going to be the journal you use for the rest of your life. Hands down. I've been working on it for a year. I'm just sharing because I'm stoked. Yes, this is a shameless plug for what I believe will be the absolute, absolute unfair advantage, game changer in your life. So be ready for it. I'm so excited you're here with me.
