Dean Graziosi identifies people who drain your confidence as "battery drainers" and argues you should stop letting them control how you feel. Hey, everybody. Dean Graziosi, welcome to the Weekly Wisdom. I got a question for you. Who's making you feel bad? You know, I did a little test this week, and everybody I had a conversation with, I would lead down that path. Without being too obvious to say, who makes you feel bad? And you can't believe the answers I got. From bosses to spouses to a partner in business to a co worker to a friend, sometimes even parents, we have someone in our lives. In most all cases, that makes us feel less who we are. And I don't know why that is, but it needs to stop. Today, you are giving them the power to strip your best you away. You know, I look back in my life, I had those people. I could feel confident, full of joy, energetic, positive, want, more optimistic as hell. And I could have someone. And I can think back through the years that if I spoke with them for five or 10 minutes, they would just suck the energy out of me. My good buddy Joe Polish talks about two types of people, battery drainers and battery chargers. Those people that are battery drainers, you see, they call you and you look down your phone, you're like, oh, hello. And then there's battery chargers, where you talk to them or you go to lunch with them and you feel uplifted. But who are you giving power to in your life that is robbing you from being your best self? Eleanor Roosevelt had a great quote. No one can make you feel inferior without your permission. When I take a week of my life and ask everyone I can about who makes them feel bad, and almost every one of them has somebody, that means you most likely do. And I want you to acknowledge that today and realize you are giving them that power. They can't make you feel any way. It's one of the gifts I try to give my children. No one can make you feel a certain way. But we. We create a hypnotic rhythm. I learned that word from Earl Nightingale. We create a hypnotic rhythm of someone who can make us feel inferior, lose our confidence, feel bad about ourselves, feel like a dreamer, feel like we're not qualified. We could feel lazy, we could feel dumb. And this week, it's over. This week, I want you to acknowledge who that is. Stop giving them that power and find a way to spin it so when you're around them, you realize that they gave you a gift to be stronger. They brought out those things in you so you could see them, you could acknowledge them and go to another level. Stop giving anyone the power to make you feel bad about yourself. You're amazing. Just the way you are. Remember, stop working on your weaknesses and continue to get better. Get amazing at what you're already great at, and that confidence will carry it to that next level of life.
