Dean Graziosi says there's no secret to success, just sustained effort and persistence. He worked multiple jobs, rehabbed properties, and cried over failed deals. The real difference is doing about 25 to 30 percent more work than people expect.

If you want sustainable wealth, you gotta put in another 25, 30% more effort than you think you do. And the other thing, when people ask me, what's the secret to success? I didn't take no for an answer. With all the opportunities that exist today, why haven't you reached your next level of income, life and wealth? In most cases, we've been lied to. We've been told that if you find the right opportunity and you work hard, you can be successful. And that's simply not true. Millionaires, billionaires and successful people have realized you need the foundation for we the habits. And that's exactly what you'll be learning on the Millionaire Success Habits podcast. All success starts here. What's up? What's up? Welcome to the Millionaire Success Habits podcast. So I'm doing this podcast from my hotel room in Austin, Texas. I was in Moline, Illinois and Davenport, Iowa for the last two days. It was so cold there. Amazing little place. I own hundreds of houses in that little area. It's a perfect place for buy and hold. So some of my diversification is in rental properties. I own hundreds of them there. Plus my partner Matt in the real estate side owns, I think close to a thousand. He's got 76 rehabs going at once. So we did a little two day training up there that went incredible. Teaching people how to rehab, how to fix and flip. But not, you know, not just the, the stuff you see on reality shows, the real deal, the nitty gritty, like what color you use on the wall, what skew do you use on the floor and how do you get a contractor to, to do it quick and fast and at the right price and all that stuff. So anyway, it was a great event. Now I jumped on a plane, I flew down here to Austin, Texas. I'm going to go meet my buddy Roland Frazier and Ryan Dice and speak at War Room, which is awesome and it'll be fun. It's a high level mastermind, you know, this podcast, I wanted it to be less about a specific lesson. It is a lesson, but I want to just be honest and transparent about something when it comes to success. Because more than ever in my life I've been having people ask me, what's the secret to success? Like it goes in waves. Like I feel like people are realistic and then there's this phase where so many people ask me that and they want this one answer. I feel they want something like magical like this one thing and they go, aha. That's how we did it. So I gotta be very Raw with you today. If I have your permission, I'm just gonna say it like it is. There is no magic. There is no one thing. If I look back on my evolution, it's that I didn't take no for an answer. I was diligent and worked my ass off. I didn't accept when things didn't work. Did I fail miserably? Yes. Did it hurt? Yes. I mean, I've cried in hotel rooms as a full grown man because a deal fell through and I didn't. I think that I thought that was it. It's never going to go. I put all this effort, energy into it, didn't work out, and physically bawled. I've worked, you know, 40 hour, 50 hour weeks at my collision shop in my 20s, then drive a tow truck at night when there was an accident to go pick it up to make money while simultaneously I was working on my apartments and being a plumber and a carpenter. And then morning, start all over again. Well, then when I wanted to get in the information business, I drive to New York City two hours each way, twice a week, trying to pound the, you know, knock on doors, make connections, make things work, come home, paint cars till midnight. Like, here's the thing, I just got to be transparent. It takes freaking work. Now you know that. And I'm not telling you something you don't know. But I have to tell you, with this emergence of influencers, which I think are great, I think people with wisdom in their brain should be obligated to share their knowledge. They should be obligated to take what they know, extract it from their brain and teach other people. Do you know how many people die with wisdom in their brains? They got their asses kicked for years. They figured stuff out, they had mass success and then they fade away with all that knowledge. It's like an amazing hard drive that just goes to waste. I think people should be obligated to share wisdom. But when you get that wisdom, it's not just the wisdom, it's not just the model. Like again, influencers are great. A lot of times I see an 18 year old kid who's an influencer on how to be successful and make money. Maybe they could show you how to make some money, you know, on YouTube and stuff like that. It's great and I'm not knocking it. I was an 18 year old entrepreneur. I get that. Just take the wisdom from where you want. If you want to learn how to make money on Facebook and Instagram, it could be an 18 year old kid that's crushing it. But if you want depth of knowledge, years of wisdom, real deep success, find someone who's been in business. You want somebody who's, you know, if you want to fix your relationship, find somebody who's been in relationships who studied and obsessed over it and had great results. So my point is, gaining the wisdom is amazing, but you gotta put in the effort and you gotta put in more than you think you do. I tell you this little story first time ever, and I was kind of rude, but I was doing a mastermind just last week, last weekend. And I have masterminds you probably know. $100,000 a year mastermind, a $25,000 year mastermind, $15,000 a year mastermind. When people join and I put them in a group and teach them to go faster and quicker, either starting a business on the lower end or scaling the business on a higher end. And a couple weeks ago we had a group in. It was not the lower what I mean, they're lower people. Just, they were just starting in business. And I was doing exercises that I do with my hundred thousand dollar group and my $25,000 group. And there was a couple people in there, to be honest, was a couple of dudes sitting on opposite sides. They were like too cool for school. I was going through this where are you, where you want to go, how are you going to get there Exercise and why do you want it? It's an exercise I do every quarter of my life to get me on track, to set my goals, to have clarity, to get rid of all the crap I shouldn't be focusing on, focus on where I want to go, set my, the course, set my, you know, my GPS in the right direction. And every successful person I know in a lot of my high level groups do it well. These two guys were just like, I came here to learn how to make money and learn how to do some stupid exercise. And I kind of lost it. I did, I kind of lost it. I said, listen, can I just be honest with you guys? Most of you are doing this exercise, but there's a couple of you aren't. If you're too cool for school to do this exercise, then give up right now, go to the front office, get your check back and go home. Because if you're not willing to do this exercise, you're not willing to put in the grind, you're not willing to fail, you're not willing to put in the work it takes to be successful. I think you've watched too many people with their Lamborghinis and holding up checks and all their partying with bottle service, thinking that they got there overnight. Some of them it's real. Some of them, maybe it's not. But I think you've watched too much of it. The only way I know how to get wealthy, the only way I know how to reach full success, is to gain capabilities from somebody who you know is doing it right and doing it big and then work your ass off. If you're not willing to do this, then next year is going to be like last year. You're going to be sitting around two years from now wondering why everybody else is getting successful and you're not. You're going to have envy for the people who are getting ahead, and it's because you're too cool for school. And my whole point to you guys today is we have to do the work. I'm just telling you, there's no way around it. Do some people get lucky? Of course. Do some people hit lotto? And yes, but if you want sustainable wealth, you got to put in another 25, 30% more effort than you think you do. And the other thing, when people ask me, what's the secret to success? I didn't take no for an answer. When my books, when nobody told me they published my books, I went after it anyway and became a multiple New York Times best seller. When my seventh grade teacher told me I was dumb and couldn't spell and I'd work in a factory for the rest of my life, I make more by lunchtime than she probably made in five years. I don't say that to be rude, but no was my catapult. No was my. It wasn't my kryptonite, it was my nitrous oxide. When people told me I wasn't smart enough, wasn't rich enough, I didn't go to the right school, I didn't come from the right family. I didn't live in the right area. I found a way to say, screw you. I found a way to just being honest, like give my middle finger to you and say, you're telling me I can't. Your no just empowered me more. So my little quick podcast here, take no and turn it into your power. Take the things that you think make you an underdog and make that your nitrous oxide to go faster. Don't take no for an answer. Don't settle. Don't be willing to give in to what other people think is your life. Don't build someone else's dream. Build yours. And know it takes more work than you think. Will some people get lucky? Absolutely. I didn't. I. I had to work for it. If you have to, here's what I tell you. I don't care how much you fail. I don't care how much it hurts. I don't care how hard it is, how many nights you cry, how many nights you stay up stressed. It's all freaking worth it. I'm in control of my life. I get to be the dad I want to be. I get to run a company that inspires millions around the world. I get to do my job. I get to do what I love. But more than that, it's not a job to me. It's my passion. I get to go to work every day on my passion. I don't wear someone else's name on the back of my jersey. Cheering from the sidelines I'm in the game, getting bloody. And I would bet to say that if you're probably already in the game, go faster and harder. And if you're not, I'd bet to say you're dying to get in the game. Go for it. It's fun on the field.
