How To Be MORE CONFIDENT & Enthusiastic At The SNAP Of A Finger!
8 Nov 2018 · 9 min
Dean Graziosi explains that enthusiasm isn't something you're born with, it's something you build by repeatedly selling yourself on a compelling future. He walks through daily habits like writing goals and visualization, and contrasts focusing on what's wrong with focusing on a clear mission, whether that's changing higher education or being a better parent.

Who do you want to grow into? What do you want to be known for? When you're not in the room and people are talking about you, what do you want to be known for? With all the opportunities that exist today, why haven't you reached your next level of income, life, and wealth? In most cases, we've been lied to. We've been told that if you find the right opportunity and you work hard, you can be successful. And that's simply not true. Millionaires, billionaires, and successful people have realized you need the foundation for wealth, the habits. And that's exactly what you'll be learning on the Millionaire Success Habits podcast. All success starts here. What's the difference between energy and enthusiasm? And how does that affect your life, your abundance, your income, and your success? Hey, Dean Graziosi. And I'm so excited you're here at the Millionaire Success Habits podcast. Now, if this is the first time you're listening, that's why I did that quick intro. If you've listened week after week after week, it's a privilege, a pleasure, and an honor to have you back. The podcast is growing so quick, and it's all because of you, because you guys are going to subscribe to dean.com and we let you know every time a new podcast goes live and all the other cool stuff. So make sure when you're done listening, go to subscribetodean.com okay, so today I want to talk about enthusiasm, energy. The one thing I get from so many people is, oh, my God, Dean, your enthusiasm is contagious. Every time I'm around you, I light up. And then when I'm not, I kind of lose it. I want you to think about something. So many times people have said to me, God, I wish I was born with your type of energy. I wish I was born with your type of enthusiasm. And my buddy Brendon Burchard said something that really stuck in my head, and he said, a power plant doesn't have energy. A power plant creates energy. Think about that. It's the same way with enthusiasm. I'm enthusiastic because I created. I wasn't born this way, but I found ways to hack myself, hack my brain, hack my thoughts, hack the power plant. So it's always producing the energy, producing the enthusiasm. And the only way I can give you, because so many people ask how to be so enthusiastic, the only way I can give you an answer is to kind of go upstream. That's my thing. I always want to go upstream. That's why I wrote Millionaire Success Habits. It's not the magic money machine. It's the habits where you go upstream so you set the foundation for long ha term success. So how do we create enthusiasm more often? Or enthusiasm? We want to snap our fingers and feel it. And here's what I believe. I believe that you need a compelling future. You're like, okay, Dean, what does that mean? Okay, so many of us are focused. And you guys know I talk about this a lot. So many of us are focused on what we don't want, what we don't. The job we don't like, the business that's not going, the spouse or girlfriend or boyfriend that doesn't support us. The. The area that you live, the people around you, your negative friends. We know that, right? We focus a lot of time on that. And then some of us are better. And we focus sometimes on that and sometimes we focus on our goals, right? I want this out of my life. I want this business. But there's a difference between focusing on what you don't want and focusing on your goals and a complete difference. If you have a compelling future, who is it that you want to be? Who do you want to grow into? What do you want to be known for? When you're not in the room and people are talking about you? What do you want to be known for? We're only on this planet, this little rock floating around in space. We're only on it the speck of a dust amount of time. What do you want to be known for? When people are at your funeral and they're saying, God, Billy was. What was Billy? What was Diane? What were you? Because I know that's going way upstream, but when I set a compelling future of where I want to go in my business, I'm on a mission to change the way people learn. I want to change the higher education system. I want to make self learning the new standards, self education accepted by careers, by jobs, by big companies. Because I'd rather hire someone that's a badass, a player with their self education, learning from people playing than some lazy bum who found a way to get through college. I'm not trying to be rude. I'm just saying I want to change the way. If you want to go to college, amazing. If you went, incredible. But if not, I want another path besides like my guidance counselor telling me to go get a factory job if I don't go to college, right? So anyway, I have a mission in my business. I want to change the way people learn. I want to make self education the norm, make it cool. Give people the skills, the habits, the techniques to go faster, quicker, not learn on their own. Change the way you feel. Some of the people who are in school, like I did and felt terrible, that fires me up so much. It's a huge, compelling future of mine. It's such a compelling future that I can see myself. I can visualize 10 years from now that the world has changed, that big companies are hiring based on who you are, based on your values, based on your self education, based on your desire to go to another level and not give two craps if you went to college or not. That's my goal. Doesn't mean that you align with my values or my goals, but that's my compelling future in business, in my personal life, I have a compelling future. I want to die someday, yes. Not want to die, I will die someday. But I want, when I do die, I want to look back and say, wow, I did everything in my power to not only be a good dad, but provide my kids the tools and the skills to live a thriving life. Not hand them money, no trust funds to give them the skills, the tools, the habits for a thriving life. That's a compelling future. That's why when I'm done filming this right now, I'm going to jump in my car, go pick up my son and bring him to football practice. While my son's practicing football, I'm gonna be practicing softball, pitching with my daughter right in the field next door. Simultaneously. It's the reason I do family meetings. It's the reason I have them write goals. It's the reason they get a chore, money. It's the reason I talk to them like they're adults. Because my compelling future is to not just be a good dad that pats them on the head and gives them stuff, a dad that gives them values and principles and shows him a way to live an abundant, successful life. That's compelling. Of course I'm enthusiastic about being a parent. Of course I'm enthusiastic because I have a compelling future that's driving me and I know I can't get there by, you know, I hope I'm a good dad someday. I hope my business is good. Well, you all, you guys have all that energy. No, we manufacture energy. I'm alive. I want to thrive. Here's what I know every single person, millionaire, billionaires, I know at the end of their life, they don't want to quit working. They don't want to stop making an impact because they found what they loved and most of the time they went through Years of shit. They went through years where everything was going wrong, but they could see the horizon. They had their compelling future. And it created the energy, the enthusiasm to get going. Because what's the alternative? Focus on what's wrong with your life. Focus on how you know you weren't dealt a good hand. Focus on the people that took advantage of you. Focus that where you live, or focus on your school system, or focus on the people who bring you down around you and get more of that. I don't know. There's two choices. Choice A or choice B. I'm going to. I'm going to choose creating a compelling future myself and then writing it down. Compelling future, Writing it down and selling yourself on it every single day. The reason my enthusiasm is alive and kicking is because I sell myself on this every day. I know what my mission of my business is. I know the mission of being a dad. I know the mission of being an influencer in the world. I don't take any of that lightly. I can't do it without energy. I can't do it without enthusiasm. I eat right because of that reason. I go to the gym in the morning because of that reason. I sell myself because of that reason. And I want to stay here because I know this. This podcast and everything I do wouldn't be growing if I said thanks for tuning in today to the Millionaire Success Habits podcast today. No, you wouldn't want that. That's not. You want this. Yes, it is contagious. Take it, steal it. Look back at all you've accomplished in your life. Bring that feeling forward into the moment. Create a compelling future and stare at it and create energy like a factory. That's my message for today. Short and sweet, right to the point. You can manufacture all the energy, enthusiasm you want if you decide to. And remember, all success starts right here.
