Hey, everybody. Dean Graziosi, welcome to the Weekly Wisdom. If you're new to us, it's an honor and a pleasure to have you here. If you're one of my DG family members, thanks for coming back today. I want to talk about persuasion. You know, persuasion is really a fancy name for sales in most cases, right? If you're selling yourself in a relationship, you're selling yourself at work, you're selling yourself to start a new company. You're selling yourself if you have a company, to your employees, to new vendors, all those things we're always selling. And selling is. You know, so many people think selling is evil. I just want to get rid of that thought. Selling is not evil. Selling is what makes the world go around. When are you your best? When you eat at an amazing restaurant and go, oh to your friends, oh, my God, the food was amazing. It was perfectly cooked. The service was great. Go see a good movie. Oh, my God. It was exciting. It was this. Read a good book. You're selling, you're teaching people. You're getting them to get engaged in what you like because you love it. And if you have a product or a service, you are your best when you're talking about it. So when I say selling is good, I want to be really clear here. If you have a product or service or you're selling yourself or you're selling yourself at work, if you're selling you and you're that person growing, or else you wouldn't be watching, here you are, your best. Selling is what takes you to that next level. You can't look at selling as bad. Selling is the art of getting people engaged. And here's something to add to make you feel better. It's getting people engaged in something that could better their life or take their happiness to the next level or their health to the next level. If you sell a health product, a product to help people make money in real estate, if you have something to help people with cancer or stop smoking or stop gambling, most things that can help somebody selling is good. The only time selling is bad is when you're getting somebody emotionally engaged to do something that can hurt them. Selling cigarettes, gambling, or a plethora of things that could be wrong. Selling drugs. Yes, selling could be bad, but the selling part's not the mechanism, it's what you sell. So think about persuasion as the thing that makes the world go to the next level. If you have an iPhone, that means Apple persuaded you to buy an iPhone. If it's Samsung, they persuaded you to buy so here's what I'd love for you to do this week. The art of persuasion is what can take you to that next level in your job, your career, the business you own, up through the ranks, in a relationship to your children, it's persuading them to take action or persuading yourself to get out there and do it. So. So what I'd love for you to do this week is think literally, take a pad, do it on your phone every time you're in a situation where you really need to persuade someone else to take action, whether it's in real estate, whether it's in life, whether it's in love, whether it's in your job and your business. And I want you to take a mental note. Ah, this is a time where I need to be selling or persuading. And what I'd love for you to do this week is take a mental note on how many different times this week you had to persuade your kids, persuade your spouse, persuade at work, persuade your job, at your business, at the gym, wherever you are, and make a note and see how many times that you have done this. And what I'd love for you to do is a little trick this week. When you're in those moments, you have a way that you currently persuade or sell yourself or sell something, you just do it. You've been doing it forever. Whether you don't like to do it and you're shy, that's your way. Or you're outgoing and you're pushing, you're an extrovert, that's your way. This week, I want you to not only take a note when you do it, I want you to figure out how you do it. And while you're figuring out how, I would love each and every one of you to do something different this week. Listen more than you talk. When it's time to persuade, you want to get your kids to take action, a spouse, whatever. This time, listen five times as much, 90% listening, 10% talking. And I want to teach you something that's so miraculous. The art of persuasion is the art of listening. And understand where people are coming from, and then offer back a solution that works for both of you. So. So this week, you're going to jot down how many times you have to sell yourself or persuade. And if it's selling someone else or even selling yourself, write it down and see how many times it actually is in a week. And this week, if it's someone else involved, do more listening, less talking, and see how that can take you to a whole other level in persuading with a smile rather than trying to sell really hard. Selling is not evil. Selling is what makes the world go around. Especially if you're selling something that can take their life to the next level or selling yourself on taking that next step towards your journey to being a better you. I'm Dean Graziosi.
