Hey, everybody. Dean Graziosi, welcome to the weekly wisdom and happy New Year. You know, this is the time of year we all set goals, and we should, but I want to give you a little less than five minutes. Way to really set goals because they stick, because so many people do it wrong. This is the time of year where you're gonna lose 20 pounds, you're gonna make more money, be better a parent, be better at relationships, get to the gym, quit soda, stop white bread. You do all these things, and then what happens? By February 1st, man, you're back to right where you were. And I don't want that to happen. So I'm just going to take a couple of minutes. There's a lot of ways to do goals, but I'm going to tell you the way they've been the most effective for me to make them stick. And just thinking about your goals is completely different than writing them down. I literally just did my whole 2015 goals, and I do a longer process, but this is the condensed version to really make it stick. So, first of all, sometimes, and I've been talking about this for years for those of you who follow me week after week, is sometimes when you look forward to your goals, it's hard to really imagine where you want to be. So first, what I'd like you to do today is I'd like you to get a couple minutes with total silence. And I'd like you to picture it's one year from today, and it was the best year of your life. So instead of you looking forward a year, you jump ahead a year and you look backwards and you go, wow, that was a fantastic year. To be a fantastic year or the best year of your life. What had to happen? Just write it down. If you want to stop the video, stop it. Just write what had to happen to be a great year. What do you look like? What do you feel like? What emotions do you have? How much money you're making? What's your relationship spot like? What do you look like when you look in the mirror? Then all of a sudden, you got your goals. Now, when you write your goals, I just did this really fast in two minutes. And hopefully you could see the whiteboard, but you could do more columns. But this is what I like. Write a column of your goals. Write a column of the emotions you'll feel if you achieve that goal. And what if you don't? If I don't? So I just use some examples. Say you want to lose 10 pounds. What's the emotions that you will feel? If you lose 10 pounds, will you feel more confidence? Will you feel more alive? Will you feel more sexy? Will you feel more passion? Will you feel sexier for your husband or for your wife or if you're just dating, how will you feel? What is the emotion? When you attach a goal to emotions, it exponentially compounds the ability for you to achieve it. But then one thing further is write down, what if you don't? What if you let another year slip by and you just fall back to old habits and you don't lose that weight? How will you feel? Will you not being the best you, will you lack confidence? What will you feel like if you don't achieve it? Do you see how attaching emotions to a goal takes it to a whole nother level? Right? If you want to practice daily gratitude, that's one of your goals. What's that? What's the emotion you're going to feel if you wake up happy for what you don't, what you do have, rather than focusing on what you don't have? How will you feel if you practice gratitude every day? Will you be happy? Will you be more positive? Will you be more ready to attack the world to get out there making more money? Do your first deal in real estate. I don't know what it is, but attach the emotion. And if you don't do it, if you wake up and start thinking what's wrong or what could go wrong that day? How do you go through the day that way? What if you don't? Same thing. If you want to do your first real estate deal or make X amount of money by a certain amount of time, how will you feel if you make that money? Visualize it. Visualize it. Imagine it. Feel it. Let your body feel like you got that first $10,000 check. What does that feel like? Do you feel secure? Do you feel confident? Do you feel alive? Are you happy? What do you want to do? Do you feel safe? Do you feel strong? But what if you just keep going as it is and you let life eat you up? Or you let the negative people in your life stop you? Or you get overwhelmed just because you're busy? You know, you're busy doing busy work, running on a treadmill rather than taking the time for you, right? You need to feel both those emotions. Imagine both. This will anchor goals better than just writing down, I want to make a million bucks this year. There's no emotion, there's no reason, and there's no repercussions. If you don't do it, it won't Stick as well. That's my message. That's my quick lesson on goals for this week. And also, this is the month for my real estate students.
