The main challenge or the main challenges that someone trying to do this is going to face in today's day and age?
That's a great question. I think that maybe the biggest challenge that especially newbie entrepreneurs don't realize is that it's hard. There's a lot of work to be done and you have to learn a lot of skills that they don't teach you anywhere else. Such as cash flow management, such as going to the bank and being friends with the broken branch manager so that he will be nice to you in the future. Such as learning to sell to your customers and learning to keep your employees from, you know, being a pain in the ass. I mean, there are a lot of real world skills that an entrepreneur has to learn and there's no way around it, you just have to learn them. And that's part of probably why a lot of businesses fail.
And that applies to both software and non software related.
Oh yeah, that applies to any business. Even if you just want to open a pizza shop.
