Have you ever wondered why most online quiz builders feel broken? Admit it, you've seen a quiz builder advertised as a game changer. There's been a gazillion of them, and it ends up being funky, awkward, your users found faster than a rubber chicken on a trampoline. But here's the dirty little secret. Most quiz tools are designed to fail. Today, I'm going to show you exactly why and more importantly, how you can build a quiz experience that actually delights users, grows your business, and doesn't become just another marketing landfill, just another tool that you tried, tested and left behind. Hey, I'm Dennis Lewis from Ratio.dev and I built more quizzes and lead gen tools than most people have had hot dinners. Yeah, I'm that old. And today you're going to get my inside scoop. And before we dive in, I want to encourage you to click on the link below and get access to our free no Code resource center. It's chock full of vetted plugins, how to videos, our podcast episodes, great books to read, all sorts of great stuff. It's updated weekly, it's free. So hit the pause button, go grab that now, and then come back and let's get started. All right, let's jump in. Let's face it, businesses love quizzes. You can use them for lead gen, for qualifying your prospects for seeing if people are learning from your courses or just helping your users use the products and services you provide. But here's what I see all the time. Quizzes that bore people to death. Beige wallpaper. Worst of all, quizzes that don't actually give you the data that you need to grow your business. Most quiz builders force you to change your strategy to fit their one size fits all, timid. And the result? Mediocre engagement. Meh data. Stalled growth, just all around painful. First of all, cookie cutter syndrome. Most tools are built for the average user, not your unique business needs. So you get a bland experience that looks and feels just like everyone else's brand. Nowhere to be seen, maybe. Hello. That's about it. Clever logic. No, it's too hard to build. User journey. You're trapped in somebody else's box. Second big problem is the lockdown functionality. So do you want to show them custom images? Probably can't do it. Do you want to personalize the results? Nope. You want to create a dynamic certificate or a PDF download or take their answers and plug them into AI? Forget about it. Most quiz platforms say, here's what we allow you to do. Take it or leave it. Innovation that's not really what they're there for. And then the third big reason is the data. You put in the work, you collect the leads and they give you the basics of the data. But it's not even easy to get it into your business. Usually all you get is some sort of a CSB download or a zapier connection. No, that's not going to cut it if you really want it to help your business grow.
Now, I want to share with you the difference between what we do here@ratio.dev and all that copy cutter sort of stuff that's out there. What happens when you build custom quiz in bubble and you bring with it all of the know how and the thinking that we've put into it in ratio.dev. totally branded. Your look, your feel, your quiz blends into your application or to your website seamlessly. Kind of like whipped cream and hot chocolate. They just go together because it's yours. Custom functionality, whatever logic you want a quiz for a rocket scientist. We built one that checks the answers, launches confetti, emails their results to their grandpa. I don't know, whatever you need for your business, that's what that quiz needs to do. Powerful integrations. You need to be able to connect it to your CRM system. Do you have a proprietary backend database that you need to fill out that should be doable? Do you need to trigger things to happen once that quiz has been taken? Maybe it needs to set off an auto sequence in your autoresponder or it needs to schedule a meeting with your sales staff. Those are the kinds of things that need to seamlessly happen at the end of the quiz. And then it needs to be extendable forever. This needs to be something that lives. It can't just be. There's a quiz. Okay, that's great, but what if you want to add questions? What if you want to test another version and see which one gets better results? What if you need to come back later and add a new functionality? Maybe you want to create a certificate with their name and date on it and you know, their profile picture. All of that can be done. If you have the reins to the horse, you're in charge and that's what we give you. So let me tell you how to build a quiz that actually performs. And by doing so, I'm going to show you how we do it here. Ratio dip. So step one is to understand your user and respect their time. So make the quiz concise, make it fun, make it engaging, put some personality in there because your Users get bored, they're not going to finish. Add some gamifications, hints, maybe a joke or two, maybe make it sing a song, I don't know. Don't be afraid to show your personality. Make who you are and your business is Shine through the quiz number two. Personalize and personalize some more. So use custom images. Create dynamic images. Make them feel like they're having a conversation, not just a standardized test. Let them talk to your quiz. Just click a button and talk to it. And give their answer by saying, hey, this is what I really wish that the world would be like if somebody like your business could solve my problem and listen to the what they have to say, we can do that. Step 3 tie results to action so what's the point if they finish the quiz and they think and now what? No, it has to give them back something for them. So give them a custom offer. Give them a downloadable something, a PDF that's personalized to the answers that they gave in the quiz. Nudge them in their next automation sequence. You're running the show, so think really about how you can then feel compensated for having taken your quiz. So make it really worth their while. Automate the gold. Step 4 When a user completes the quiz, that should trigger your CRM, your onboarding, start your drip campaign, make it do exactly what you want it to do. And then finally step five is make it go viral. Create something in the quiz that makes them want to share. Maybe you want to give them that diploma that they can post on LinkedIn. Maybe you want to create some sort of a personalized meme that they can share on social media and get laughs with from their buddies. Anything you can do that creates a viral loop that redirects other people to take your quiz. That's going to be marketing gold for you. And you have the ability to do all of this because you can actually make your quiz do exactly what you want to do. If you want to stop building quizzes that fizzle, that are boring, that nobody gives a shit about, then it's time for you to take this step and to your game. Don't just settle for average.
