To go over air filters because it's something very important. All you probably have seen or, or have the five secrets PDF that we've been talking about for, for a while now, but five secrets to help prevent a breakdown. Five secrets to help prevent a breakdown in and one of those secrets includes air filters because something is something very important and something that you can kind of lose sight of, especially in this 2021, which is, you know, a crazy year and everybody's busy and they're, you know, they have jobs, their kids are at a school, especially in the summer, or they're home virtually. So something you can forget and not remember to change, but it's something very important for your system. Your air filter. According to Energy Star, your air filter is something that you can control and you can actually have an effect on your heating and air with. So it's one of those things that you don't need a professional, you don't need a contractor, you don't need anyone to help you with going to your filter grill at home inside and changing out your filter. Now the challenge becomes remembering to change out that filter. And it also becomes when I go to Lowe's or Home Depot or Walmart, there's so many options of filters which Filter is the best one for my home because you have the really inexpensive small filters or filters that are really stopping nothing more than a sandwich bag or pet hair flying through there. They're not doing much. We have that filter and then you have these allergy type filters that are really high end, really expensive and seem like they could be the right filter for you. But the challenge becomes can your duct system, can your system actually handle that kind of filter? So we'll kind of address that as to, as to how you know which way your filter can go, which which filter system can handle. But first I want to talk about the number one secret to help prevent a breakdown that you can affect changing your filter. According to Energy Star, changing your filter can save you 5 to 15% own energy. It's that important. The number one when no one causes a breakdowns for heating and cooling systems is dirt. The main reason you have a filter in place is to catch the dirt, catch the particles that can cause a breakdown to happen. When you don't have a good filter or you have air bypassing the filter, it is then getting on your motors, your coils, your blower wheels. See, heating and air is all about heat transfer.
So you want to make it as.
Easy as possible for that heat transfer to happen. The easier it is, the more energy you're saving, the better it is, the better it is for your system. Dirt and dust get through past the air filter or through their filter. If it's a really cheap, inexpensive filter and that those particles get by and get by the filter and it builds up on that coil or on that blower wheel or on that blower motor, it's going to cause a problem because the unit, the system is now having to work harder to overcome that.
Okay, I hope you enjoyed this episode.
