Foreign. Storm and lightning season is upon us and it's critical to protect your air conditioning system during this time when, when you know a storm is about to arrive. It's a great, especially you know, this time of the year, you know, summer into fall where it's kind of pretty severe lightning and storms around here. When you know a storm is about to arrive, it's a great idea to turn off the AC unit at the thermostat anytime there is any kind of a power outage or when you may experience power flickering which can happen during the storm and lightning, this may be due to the storm. So a surge of power is, is going to follow that. Surges of power could damage your control board, your compressor, which is the heart of the system, and other items in your unit that are critical. Not saying turn it off is going to 100% prevent that from happening, but at least your compressor is not going through some kind of cycle. And then boom, power goes off and the compressor stops. So to protect that from happening, turn it off at the thermostat. That way when the power is restored and stable, you can turn it back on. And you don't have those, you know, what do you call false starts of, of power flickering on off, on off. So once it's stable, turn it back on. And that reduces some of your chances for having an issue because the system isn't, you know, running and then power surge happens and bam, it's off. And then bam is back on it, bam is off. And then it's a lot less wear and tear for things to get messed up if this happens. So turn off at the thermostat and if you feel comfortable and safe, also turn off at the breaker, the breaker panel inside the house. If you feel comfortable doing that. If you have any kind of question about that, don't go in that panel. If you're not comfortable, do not go in that panel because you can turn off at the breaker if you're comfortable doing that. Remember, safety first because things items can be replaced, you cannot be replaced. So use your best judgment before you do anything like this. But this is something I do in my house when a storm comes, I turn my unit off or turn him trail where it turns turns off. That way there's no kind of weird thing happening with a power source that may happen or may not happen. But it's, you know, it's worth it to be in that, you know, half hour or hour of being uncomfortable just to make sure things aren't unnecessarily burned up when it's something you can, you know, try to help to prevent.
