Foreign. The most important things you can do for your system, your heating and air system yourself. You don't need technicians, you'll need anyone else to do this for you. It's one of the most important things you can do for your system and that is check or change the air filter every single month. I like talking with this on the on the 1st of month because it's the most convenient time to do it. If you need to put a reminder on your refrigerator, on your calendar, alarm, on your phone, it is one of the most important things you can do. According to Energy Star. According to Energy Star, one of the most important things you can do for your system. And I happen to agree with them in this situation. Change or check your air filter to make sure it is clean, it is filtering and you're good to go. Now, some folks have told me, hey, after a few months, I keep checking my filter and it doesn't need be changed, it doesn't need to be replaced. It's not even dirty. Well, that's, that's a whole nother problem. That means air is bypassing the filter and going to places it shouldn't be going. The unit is going to get there once, right? The unit is going to get the air it needs. You want to be controlled as much as possible. You want to be clean, filtered air from your home, not the air from the crawl space or from the attic or from outside. You want it to be controlled so you can have clean filter there. Going back to unit, we sell time. Dirty blower motors or dirty motors, dirty coals, all this has an effect because of filtration. Filtration is the problem. Now it you could have the right filter in, but the duct system doesn't let it do its job. That's a whole nother situation. It's not about the filter, it's about the duct system in that situation. All this we address in the Healthy Home Challenge. I definitely encourage you to go check it out. It's free. It's a free 5 day access to the Challenge. And we talk about filtration and duct systems and UV and ozone and all these things that are out there that can help you be more efficient and actually help you start breathing cleaner air at home. We spend 90% of our time indoors these days. 90%. The EPA says indoor air is two to five times worse than outdoor air. So what's the solution? You gotta take some of the things that are outside and bring them into your system. But for today, we're talking about air filters. Don't want filtration. Which is, by the way, day one at the Healthy Home Challenge. Day one, that's how important is day one. We talk about air filters, we talk about MERV ratings, we talk about what you see in the big box stores and Lowe's and Walmart and Home Depot, how confusing all those options can be. We talk about that. So go to simmons1hour.com, scroll down, you'll see a button for the Healthy Home Challenge. Click it, sign up. It's free five day access, no strings attached. You get emails from me every day about the Challenge. It's kind of, it's kind of like Netflix. You get all five days at one time. Now you can either go through it day by day with me on the emails, the emails, I break down, you know, each day and then we go over each day and then you could do it that way or you can binge it all and watch it at one time. I mean, it's only like seven. I think the longest videos is on duck Systems. It's like 20 minutes on day three. But most of them are seven minutes, seven, eight minutes long. So it's not, it's not out of control, it's not anything that, that they can't be handled. But I want you to change or check. Your air filter is very important for your system, for your health. It's one of the most important things you can do. And that's MG Star saying this. It's not Derek saying this. It's Energy Star saying this. So first a month, first every month, set an alarm, put on calendar, put a note on the fridge, whatever you need to change and check your air filter.
