Each year as temperatures start to rise, I hear common concerns from customers worried.
That their conditioner is not cooling properly. So after 20 years experience, here are the top four tips I have and you can also find these on energy.gov hey, this is Derek Cole. Welcome to the Derek Cole podcast. Tip 1 Dirty Air Filter Simple, Simple.
The simplest thing you can do.
Check the air filter in your home every 30 days and replace it at least every three months. Regardless of how it looks dirty or.
Clogged, air filters can reduce the amount.
Of airflow your H Vac system receives.
And can cause cooling challenges during warmer months. It's like your system is running a marathon and you don't want your system.
Trying to run a marathon, only breathing.
Out of a straw.
Tip 2 Thermostat problems check your thermostat. Make sure your thermostat is set properly to the cooling mode and not in the heating mode. I know it sounds simple, but it can happen. Make sure you're in the right mode. Some thermostats have an auto feature so you can sit cooling and heating temperatures. Be sure to make sure and check your thermostat is set properly. Tip number three Refrigerant Some customers request that we add refrigerant to their system because they think it should get quote.
Filled up every year.
I just need some Freon. I just need some refrigerant.
No you don't.
Your heating and air system is a closed system. You should not need refrigerant every single year.
I like to relate this to your body.
You shouldn't need to receive blood every year because you're running low on blood. You're a closed system as well. Your H Vac system is a closed system. So if your system needs refrigerant, that means it's leaking refrigerant. So the leak needs to be found, needs to be repaired and the system.
Can properly be charged with the right amount.
If the system is low, it will not cool properly, just like if you were lone blood.
You will not feel good.
You will not run properly.
Your system is the same way.
Tip number four Proper drainage is the last of the four tips.
But proper drainage is important for water removal.
Your H Vac system, regardless of location, needs proper drainage.
Air conditioning involves the removal of moisture humidity from the home. As this happens, water is the byproduct and needs that.
Water needs a place to go.
Many homeowners don't want it under their.
House or in their house.
But during a maintenance check or routine check of your system, that drainage system should be checked and to make sure water is removed properly from your home. Any questions, I'll be glad to help you out. Hit me up on Instagram or Twitter or Facebook at Derek M. Cole.
Until next time.
Take care.
