Home and Life Comfort with Derek Cole. Hey folks, welcome back to the Home and Life Comfort podcast. I'm your friend in comfort and energy savings, Derek Cole. Today I want to talk about something we see all the time. And honestly, it cost homeowners way too much money when it could have been avoided. Talking about waiting until your H Vac system breaks down before calling for service. You know how it goes. Your house doesn't feel as cool in the summer or as warm in the winter. Maybe you notice a small smell, a strange smell, a little rattling, a small noise. And what most people do, well, they ignore it. They ignore it. They hope it'll just work itself out. They hope it will heal itself, right? It's like any medical problem you have or something going on with a car and then next time it turns on, maybe it didn't quite do that and you're like, well, it's fixed. No, it's not fixed. It's just giving you a warning sign. But, but here's the truth. HVC systems don't heal themselves if your comfort isn't where it should be. That's a sign something is not right. And the longer you wait, the bigger and more expensive that problem gets. It's like anything. There is no self healing H vac systems, okay? There's no self healing vehicles. If your vehicle or your car is making a sound, it needs to be addressed. That is the first warning sign. There is something not quite right. So ignoring it just makes a more expensive problem later. That's why regular service and you know about every six months is the key. Just like you wouldn't drive that same car 50,000 miles without changing the oil. You don't want to run your system season after season without a checkup, without a maintenance. The maintenance, the check, the maintenance keeps things running smoothly, saves you on energy bills and catches those small issues before they become breakdowns or they become even more of a problem. And more of a problem means more expensive, by the way. So let's be real. There's nothing worse than your AC or your heat quitting. Your AC quitting in July, your heat quitting in, you know, December, January. Don't put your family through that. So what are a few signs? What are a few signs you don't want to ignore? First, could be a musty or, or a burning smell. Second, could be an uneven temperature. Different rooms. If your rooms are different temperatures, that could be a problem. 3. Strange banging or squealing noise. Any kind of noise you're not used to hearing is a problem. Okay? And number four, simply if it's been more than six months since your last checkup, get it checked out. Any of these are your system's way of waving the red flag. Hey, I got a problem. So get those four things checked out. If you have any of those four going on. So here's my advice. Don't wait for a breakdown. Be proactive. I love playing offense. I don't like playing defense. Be proactive. Get that 6 month checkup scheduled and give yourself the peace of mind here at Simmons. One hour. We'll make sure your system is ready to handle whatever the Carolina weather throws at it. Hot, cold, somewhere in between. Wet, dry. Visit simms1hour.com or give us a call. But until next time, stay comfortable and remember your comfort is always our priority. Your friend in comfort and energy savings, Derrick Cole. Home and life Comfort with Derek Cole.
