In this holiday devotional episode of “Home and Life Comfort with Derek Cole,” the speaker reflects on the true meaning of Christmas, emphasizing that the birth of Jesus Christ is the greatest gift and the foundation for the season. He connects this spiritual truth to everyday life—family, faith, and the work of Simmons One Hour—arguing that the company’s values of honesty, reliability, and neighborly care stem from Christian teachings. The episode stresses that trust is essential when entering a homeowner’s space, especially during the extremes of winter, and frames the service of keeping homes comfortable as a responsibility rooted in Christ’s example. Derek closes with a blessing for a merry Christmas, a comfortable home, and a blessed new year, and reminds listeners that Simmons One Hour is always available to serve their comfort needs.

Home and life comfort with derek cole. At Christmas, things tend to get loud. Schedules fill up. Homes fill up. Expectations fill up. But if we're not careful, the noise can drown out the reason we're here in the first place. Today I want to slow things down and talk about the greatest gift ever given Jesus Christ. Because his birth is the reason for this season. And it's the foundation of everything we try to do in our homes, in our families, and even in our work. The Bible puts it simply and powerfully in Luke, chapter 2, verse 11. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a savior, which is Christ the Lord. That verse never gets old. It reminds us that Christmas isn't about perfection. It's about grace. It isn't about what we've earned. It's about what was given. Christmas is about more than lights and decorations or even the warmth or coolness of our homes. It's about faith. It's about family. It's about loving our neighbors the way Christ taught us to, with human humility, honesty and care. That message matters more than ever before. Here at Simmons One Hour. We have believed for generations that how you do business matters just as much as what you do for your business. Those values didn't come from a business seminar or marketing playbook. They came from faith. Faith teaches you. Show up when you say you will. Tell the truth, even when it's uncomfortable. Treat people like neighbors, not numbers. Those principles don't change with the seasons. They don't take the holiday off. When someone invites you into their home, that's trust. And trust is something you have to protect, especially during the coldest time or the warmest time of the year. Keeping families comfortable and safe isn't just a service, it's a responsibility. Serving homes is really about serving people. And serving people is something Christ showed us how to do every day of his life. So we're grateful for every family who has trusted us over the years. Being welcomed into your home is something we don't take lightly. So from our family to yours, we pray you have a merry Christmas, a comfortable home, and a new year filled with God's peace, good health and blessings. And remember, the greatest gift was already given. Thank you for spending part of your Christmas with us. If you ever need us, we're always here. Home and Life Comfort with Derek Cole.
