Dharmesh Shah says most startup problems are people problems. Founders need to ask: do I have the right team, how do I find them, how do I spot bad fits early, and how do I scale with good talent. Even as CTO, his weeks are spent on hiring and management, not technology.
What's the hardest thing you think today about being an entrepreneur? Most problems most startups have fundamentally come down to people. They're all people issues. Do we have the right people on the bus? Do we even know what the right people are? Can we attract them? If they're not the right people, will we know it? Will we be able to act on it? How do we scale that? How do we continue to kind of fill the bus up with the right kinds of people? I have the CTO title, but I think of like on just about every other week, the T in my CTO title stands more for talent than it does for technology.
