In this conversational video, two speakers recount a surprise trip to Canyon Ranch, a women‑focused wellness retreat. Speaker A reveals that they had been saving $50‑$75 a week for years to fulfill a long‑standing dream of visiting the resort, and they kept the trip a secret until a week before departure. Speaker B, initially unaware of the dream, is shocked and delighted by the surprise, describing the retreat as a yoga, healthy‑food, hiking haven. The dialogue highlights that Speaker A was the only male guest under 70, which made him a hit with the predominantly female staff and guests, leading to playful “ogling” and a brief moment of fame. The conversation then shifts to the financial aspect: the trip was prepaid and all‑inclusive, so there was no post‑trip expense, allowing both speakers to stay fully present and enjoy the experience without financial worry. Overall, the video blends personal storytelling with reflections on saving habits, gender dynamics in a women‑centric space, and the peace of mind that comes from pre‑planning a costly wellness getaway.

We did a trip to Canyon Ranch. We did. You— I heard you mention Canyon Ranch once in passing 10 years ago or something. Yeah. And I remember you saying, if I could have a dream come true, it would be go to Canyon Ranch. And it wasn't probably that phrase, but I heard that and I'm like, Canyon Ranch account in that moment. Start saving $75, I think it was, a week or $50 a week. Canyon Ranch ain't cheap. And we saved for it. And I surprised you. What did it feel like? We were at Matt Cox's and Kathy Cox's house down in Virginia. I told you we had a surprise event coming up. I wasn't going to tell you until 1 week prior. That was 1 week prior. Yes. What did that feel like?
I was shocked. I didn't remember talking about Canyon Ranch. I've heard of Canyon Ranch. I mostly heard of it under the guise of like a girls' trip, like yoga and healthy food and hiking and things like that, relaxing. So I didn't really know much about it. So I was shocked and I did not remember that it was a DreamTrip for me.
And maybe it was no longer, right? Maybe that dream had passed.
Listen, any time with you is a DreamTrip.
It was a blast. It was unique. It was definitely more of a women's Retreat facility.
Yes, you were very popular there.
Yeah, let's talk about that real quick. I was very popular because I was the only guy under 70, perhaps. Guess. Yeah, only guest under 70, so that's an automatic win. And it's all women there, including the staff.
You were a hit with the staff. Yeah, that's really where you were shining. Yeah, yeah, that was, that was really fun. I was ogled. You were. And, and I don't blame them.
That's my 15 seconds of fame. Um, What did it mean from the financial aspect to do that trip? Did you have any worries, any concerns about the financials?
I didn't know, and I didn't do any research on it. I just let it happen because I was so shocked and surprised and just there for the journey. But afterwards, because it's all like done, it's all paid for, kind of all-inclusive, so there was nothing for me to see. So that was something I didn't even look into until afterwards, and then I was like, wowza, wowza.
But we had saved all in advance, so I don't consider it an expense, meaning it's already been saved for. But I think we were both totally present at the end too. I was like, gosh, that, that was rich. But also wasn't a dent on anything because we'd saved for it in advance. And so for me, that was like, we could be so present.
