Who's your avatar? It's perhaps one of the most common known concepts for small business owners to have an avatar and to pursue them. Yes, the least executed upon. It's critical. An avatar is the definition of the ideal client. It can be a Frankenstein, if you will, no amalgamation of your existing clients and the best parts of them that come together to represent your ideal client. But once you know who the ideal client is for you, then you can target your efforts to get there. Your avatar— what podcasts they listen to, where do they physically congregate, what magazines do they read, what subscriptions do they have, what email lists are they on? Once you know where your avatar is, you concentrate your efforts there, and now you become all present. If you ever had that experience where a prospect or client says, gosh, you're everywhere, It's because they think you're everywhere, and in their world, you are. Now, of course, no one has the budget to be everywhere. It takes something like Coca-Cola's budget to have a presence of magnitude. But as a small business owner, once you know who your avatar is and you concentrate your marketing efforts for that community, because birds of a feather flock together, they'll see you recurrently. That builds a know, like, and trust, and that'll persuade them to join you as a client. And now you're acquiring your ideal avatar. So make the effort right now to start writing down who your avatar is, to track it, to improve it as time goes on, and then target where they're congregating, and your business will improve. There's no question about it. For more tips like this, go to mikemotorbike.com.
