Do you want to help your kids sleep through the night? I got a tip for you: butter before bed. Just a spoonful of butter. I know it sounds crazy, but it worked wonders for me and my son when he was 12 months and he was waking me up every 1 to 2 hours to nurse. It was not fun for anyone, and it was exhausting for the family. Growing bodies need more calories, and if they haven't gotten enough during the day, their blood sugar can drop overnight, causing them to wake up hungry and cry. So offering a high-fat, calorie-rich food like butter or peanut butter, avocado, coconut milk— get creative— it can satisfy their hunger and give them that peaceful night's sleep to sleep all night. Now keep in mind that every child is different, so trust your instincts and try something else if it doesn't work for you. And remember, share your experience with other moms. We all want to sleep through the night. Sharing is caring. And join my Dr. Mom membership for more information. I give tips, answers to all these questions. It's so much fun.
