Mihail Pautov explains that eggs have the most digestible protein according to the WHO, scoring 100% on the PDCAAS scale. Egg protein is absorbed at 97%, compared to dairy at 95% and meat at 94%. Plant proteins like beans and lentils absorb much lower, requiring roughly twice the amount to match egg protein.
Questions this video answers
Egg protein (egg) is the PDCAAS reference with a score of 100%.
Approximately 97% digestibility for egg protein.
Approximately 95% digestibility for dairy (casein) proteins.
Approximately 94% digestibility for meat proteins.
Many plant proteins have much lower digestibility—often about half—so roughly twice the amount of plant protein may be needed to equal the digestible protein from eggs.
