Mihail Pautov explores how personalized diets and probiotics could be tailored to your individual gut microbiome. The conversation covers adjusting drug dosing based on microbiome tests and the possibility of low-cost monitoring tools, even integrated into toilets.
And how is the future looks like? What do you think we're going to do in 10 years? Maybe we will have like special DNA recommended diet for each one of us. What other things we will be able to change and to manipulate for our health?
Well, I think we'll do a better job of personalizing diets. The one thing we've noticed is everyone has a very different gut microbiome. We should be able to personalize things like probiotics and fermented foods. Before you go on certain medicines test you to say you need to change the dose.
Okay.
Or you know, have a different form of that drug so that your, your gut microbes don't deactivate it. And I think we'll be hopefully getting, using these tests as they get cheaper and cheaper. And I think that, you know, they should be less than €20. It could even be fitted into your toilet so that, you know, you get a running check of what your gut health is like. Be great fun to come back in 10 years and see how, see how right I am on this.
