Birth Control's Hidden Impact on Women's Health ⚠️

Two speakers discuss how birth control affects women's hormones, mental health, and gut bacteria, and why doctors often don't warn patients about serious side effects before prescribing it.
Control for everything. Like to fix everything. Oh, you have acne, let's give you birth control. Like, oh, you have a mood disorder, we'll give you birth control. And birth can, like when women under. If understood that it's probably the worst thing you can do for your health because it is taking away your protective hormones. It is not hormone. It is like doing the opposite for you. And even if we could get women to understand there's no informed consent, doctors are not telling women this.
Like, that's right.
I'm gonna take away your hormones.
That's right, yeah. And, and then along.
Doctors know, like, I don't think they get it. They don't understand.
Yeah, they don't. I think it impacts bone density. It certainly impacts or can impact libido in many respects. I don't, you know, and then some people have difficulty with fertility when they try to come off them. Right, of course.
So post birth control syndrome. And then. But we're talking gut health. Like it interrupts like entire gut health. But I think the biggest thing is mental health from women. Like we see this huge like wanting suicidal ideation. They get anxiety, they get depression, they do not feel well. Like mental health, when you start birth control is humongous. And this is probably the biggest problem I see. You can deal with a little bit of gut health probably issues, but when you feel suicidal or not, well, this is not good.
