This is a YouTube video titled "Cycling Supplements for Longevity" containing a conversation recorded in July 2025 featuring Dr. Jeffrey Gladden and another speaker discussing the strategy of cycling supplements to balance testosterone levels and promote longevity, contrasting anabolic phases with autophagy and the biological trade-offs of muscle growth versus lifespan.
One of the things that I've absolutely taken away from this time that I've spent around you on the podcast is how you will cycle supplements in and out. So you'll intentionally be spending a little more time on reduce, not adding testosterone, but really kind of focusing on the longevity. And then there are times where you'll be a little more anabolic, if you will, in terms of cranking up that testosterone, doing these kinds of cycles between mus muscle growth and really kind of trying to kick up autophagy to another level.
Yeah, that's exactly right. I think the biology is an economy of balance. Right. So it's really about cycling in and out of these various states. You can't be building all the time or you die sooner. That's been shown over and over again. Power athletes die sooner. Everybody wants to talk about muscle as a currency of longevity. Well, if that were the case, bodybuilders and power athletes would live longer, but they die 10 years sooner. So.
