Dr. Jeffrey Gladden moderates a discussion on ego, with speakers comparing it to a bus passenger that shouldn't drive. The ego is creative and useful but fundamentally false. Recognizing our connection to a universal quantum field, where all nodes interlink, dissolves the illusion of separation and creates genuine connection.
I mean, the ego is a wonderful and powerful thing, and it, you know, it climbs mountains and it builds buildings and designs computers and does all these great things that we all benefit from. It also is in some sense a falsehood. It's not as real as it thinks it is.
Yeah, in the therapy world we say we want it on the bus, we just don't want it driving the bus. It's of course welcome on the bus, it has a place and a seat there, we just don't want it driving the bus. It's a wonderful servant but a terrible master.
That's it.
A wonderful servant, but a terrible master.
Yeah, this, this idea of separation is really one that kind of gets retooled, you know, that we're individual, that we're separate from. You end up having the experience of actually being connected to everything. And that's such a beautiful experience really to realize that you are actually connected in the quantum field. If you go to physics, right, it's a quantum wave field and everything is connected. We're kind of like nodes on the quantum wave field, but we're all connected through that, right? This idea of separation is such an anomaly.
