Dr. Jeffrey Gladden discusses thymic peptides like Zadaxin and thymosin beta-4, used in Asia for cancer and immune disorders, which teach the immune system to recognize self from non-self. He proposes periodic peptide replacement as the thymus shrinks with age, adjusting doses from maintenance during health to higher amounts during illness or autoimmune flare-ups.

Thymic alpha 1 does, has numerous human studies on it. It's a drug in other countries known as Zidaxin. So it's widely used in Asia and India for people with cancer, for people who have immune dysregulation, for people who are viruses. So it's, it's, it's a, a well-tested peptide. It's also an essential peptide to tell our immune system, oh, attack this, don't attack this, right? So it's a really critical player in immune function. And one of the reasons we get more autoimmune disease as we age is because of this lack of thymic function. At this stage, and I'm sure, you know, you've read about about people trying to do thymic regeneration or trying to do thymic, thymus replacements. But at this stage, the best that we really have is to replace what the thymus gland does. And that's the thymic peptides, thymus alpha 1 and thymus and beta 4. So those two peptides are gonna now kind of replace the fact that I don't have a thymus gland anymore. Just like my ovaries aren't working well anymore, neither is my thymus gland. So why wouldn't we think about replacing those in the same way? So the mitochondria go the same. So when I look at replacing what's lost, I'm gonna replace BPC. I'm gonna replace the thymic peptides and I'm gonna replace some of the, the mitochondrial peptides. And you don't have to be doing them constantly, right? But you want to be at least through time trying to kind of bring them back into existence periodically. So not just when I'm trying to heal, I might want to keep these on and off board, you know, throughout my aging with utilization higher when I need to do go into repair mode or I'm sick or I've developed an autoimmune disease, then I want to pull those in higher.
