Dr. Jeffrey Gladden explains how spermidine influences at least nine of the twelve hallmarks of aging. Boosting autophagy, a cellular recycling process, creates spillover benefits for other hallmarks like mitochondrial dysfunction and protein misfolding, making spermidine a high-impact anti-aging strategy.

And the reason why spermidine is so interesting to me is that we know for certain that spermidine positively impacts or improves a minimum of 9 of those 12 things, if not all 12 of them. And we can go into the nuts and bolts of this, but this is based on, on published literature, scientific literature. And so because of the fact that there is a lot of crosstalk between these hallmarks of aging, it's kind of like at home when you clean one room in your house, suddenly you feel better about everything else and the ability to clean the other rooms in the house. Simply by improving autophagy itself, you will have a positive spillover effect on another hallmark. Let's say that's mitochondrial dysfunction, or maybe that's protein folding, but this crosstalk is real. And if I, you know, if I think about the most impactful things that I can do as an individual to slow the aging process, I want more bang for my buck, and I want to hit as many of those hallmarks as possible, and spermidine really does that.
