Dr. Jeffrey Gladden explains how the bacterium Enterostipes lowers zonulin to tighten intestinal junctions, boosts secretory IgA for mucosal immunity, and strengthens the gut barrier. These three mechanisms work together to repair leaky gut and support immune defense.

Have you seen that using the anaerobes decreases leaky gut or elevated zonulin and things like that? Yeah, definitely.
The, uh, the Enterostippes is actually— I say it's like the Swiss Army knife of the gut. It kind of does a lot of things, but the top 3 things that it does is it lowers zonulin signaling, so it seals up the tight junctions. It works on your immune system, so it supports secretory IgA within your mucosal immunity. And then it also supports the mucosal barrier. So your mucosal barrier is kind of like a physical barrier between your tight junctions, the contents of your gut, and your bloodstream. So that kind of slows everything down so the immune system can work in that area. And then the tight junctions kind of regulate what can come through and what can't come through. So it works on all three of that— those layers.
