Dr. Jeffrey Gladden describes the Master Reset, a protocol using conductive pads on the neck and feet to stimulate the vagus nerve. Heart-rate variability improvements match or exceed those from breathing exercises or commercial devices. He reports marked reductions in severe chronic pain conditions like Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.

So we have a program or a protocol or a technique that we call our Master Reset. It's our version of a vagus nerve or autonomic nervous system stimulation technique. And we have pads at the suboccipital area and the balls of the feet. So we're getting likely some local stimulation in the cervical spine where there's the highest concentration of muscle spindles and is very dense in terms of these sensory receptors, likely getting some direct vagus nerve stimulation. but also getting these electric fields going across longitudinally along the body. And we've seen that when we do these various HRV measurements before and after, we've seen at least as much, if not more significant improvements in HRV compared to diaphragmatic breathing or certain vagus nerve, direct vagus nerve stimulation techniques and other things there. So it's been a really exciting avenue and we've seen tremendous outcomes in terms of even severe chronic pain like CRPS patients where there's clearly a sympathetic overdrive hypersensitivity type of scenario. Yeah. You've seen all— and then a variety of off-label things that I don't even know if I can talk about on here. But as you know, my nervous system is so relevant.
