A psychologist and Gen X parent watches Gen Z kids curse at their mother over a messy sink. She says this disrespect wouldn't happen in her generation, and warns that kids testing parents this way can trigger serious consequences, especially when the parent pays for everything.
Mom, why the fuck is the sink so fucking dirty? Cut that shit out! Why the fuck— The fuck is this? What, Mom?
What the fuck? What the fuck is this, Mom?
Who are you talking to?
I'm saying—
Oh, for the life of me, I cannot understand why Gen Zers like to prank/test their parents by being disrespectful. We are not the generation to do that with. And I'm saying that as a psychologist of 20 years. I'm psychologist, but I'm also human, meaning that if you disrespect me as a parent, then I'm gonna have a split-second reaction, which may or may not be good, and it may or may not be detrimental to your health. Because you can't say those words to me in my house and you not pay all the bills in it. You can only talk like that when you paying all the bills in a house. And even then, when I come to your house, you can't talk like that to me.
