Making Patients Trust You ! By sounding Consistent

Dr. Allen Nazeri explains why dental and medical practices need consistent elevator pitches so all staff deliver the same message and build patient trust. He gives examples: an endodontist might say "I save teeth and get people out of pain quickly and comfortably," while a dental implant pitch is "A dental implant is a titanium screw that replaces the missing root of your missing tooth."

Hi there. Today I want to talk to you about why elevator pitches are absolutely important to have in your practice. Let me define for you what an elevator pitch is. Well, an elevator pitch is a precise statement of what you do or what a service or product is that you can explain to someone within a short amount of time. Then you may be in an elevator. That is how the word elevator pitch has come about. Now, every dental and medical practice, they need to have an elevator pitch because everyone on this staff on the team will sound the same and consistent. When I help my clients build massive call centers, we typically help them in training their team to be able to to memorize various dental procedures or medical procedures based on elevator pitches that are simple to understand and it resonates with people. See, everyone on your team needs to have an elevator pitch. For example, if someone meets me at an elevator and says, hey, what is it that you do? I basically say, I help doctors to grow their practices, scale them, and then help them sell it at high valuations. Very easy to understand. Now, I know many doctors, they like to use dental jargon. And, you know, you may come across someone and say, well, what do you do? And you say, well, I'm an endodontist. Well, most people don't understand what an endodontist is. Most people don't even understand what a root canal specialist is. But what you could say is, I save tea and I get people out of pain quickly and comfortably. That's a simple elevator pitch. Now, every dental procedure needs to have an elevator pitch. For example, if someone asks your staff what a dental implant is, how are they going to respond to that? Well, you can do a test on your team right now and see how many different responses you get. Well, a short, precise statement of what a dental implant is for a patient could be something like this. A dental implant is a titanium screw that replaces the missing root of your missing tooth. Something like this. Now, we have a complete set of elevator pitches for our clients, and we help them bring that and implement it into their own practice. Now, they can use our elevator pitches verbatim or they can create their own. But what's important is that you do have a precise elevator pitch for every procedure and everyone that is on your team, that is how to make things sound consistent. When you sound consistent, you come across at someone who is certain about a level of information, and certainty builds trust and value with your patients. So try to figure out what sort of elevator pitches you can have in your practice.
