Dr. Donnie Wilson struggled for decades to solve her numerous health issues and heal her body. But with focused determination, she healed herself. And in doing so, she discovered the Dr. Donnie stress recovery Protocol. On this show, you're going to hear from doctors, nutritionists, and Experts along with Dr. Donnie, who will give practical advice and wisdom to help heal your body. This is how humans heal.
Hey, everyone. Thanks for joining me here at How Humans Heal. I'm excited to introduce you to my friend and colleague Bridget Danner today. She specializes in mold detoxification. She's a functional health coach and originally trained as an acupuncturist. Thank you so much for joining me today, Bridget.
Hi, Donnie. I feel like I have to mention, too, that we're also a set of triplets. Don't forget.
Well, if anyone wonders or thinks we look alike.
We have another colleague, Fiona, who, when we go to conferences together, everyone thinks we're the same person.
Yeah, everyone calls us each other's name. I have my hair up, but we do. Donnie and I do look quite a bit alike. We have similar voices, similar body types, so we would always get called the other person. It was awesome.
I actually think we should probably come up with a strategy about that next time we're at an event together.
Yeah, we should all wear the same outfit, for sure.
It really confused people.
Oh, my gosh. Well, I'm so excited to talk to you today because I know you have your new book out. The Ultimate. Let me see the exact name. The Ultimate Toxic Mold Recovery Guide. Right.
Very good. I know I actually entered it wrong on Amazon the first time I did, but, yeah, this is it. I just got a paper copy Saturday, so. Pretty recent. Yeah, it's really exciting.
Well, it's so much that goes into it. And at the same time, I know that you wrote this based on your experience with mold recovery. Tell us a little bit more about you and what led you to do what you do and helping people with recovering from mold toxicity.
Sure. I feel like it's kind of like a story that has come full circle. So I did not get into natural medicine from my own health issues. I got into it because I was an environmentalist from a young age, and I wanted to make a difference in the world. And I thought, well, okay, I'm already interested in natural medicine. This can be a way that I teach people about healthy lifestyle and green living. And then I started practicing. I was practicing as an acupuncturist And I really just was doing my thing. Right. I was working on elbow pain, back pain, and I lived in Portland, Oregon. It was a very green city. So, you know, the whole environmental piece almost got forgotten. Uh, however, meanwhile, I was living in a moldy home. I didn't know that. So I was just chasing symptoms and dealing with, you know, all these flare ups and I, I had an environmental illness. So once I discovered that, I had to uproot my whole life and, you know, move out of that house and work on my health. It took a long time and it really circled me back into where I started, which is now I get to actually talk about the environment and green living and detoxing the body. So it's funny. It's like the universe pushed me back into it all.
It's so. It's interesting how that happens, isn't it? Like, sometimes our original passion shows up for us and we're like, oh my gosh, I'm here again. Back to this again.
Yeah, totally.
And so, like, what, you know, tell us more about the book. Like, how did you, how did you figure out what to put in the book and to. To organize the information in there?
Yeah, you know, that's a great question. I kind of skimmed over the mold part of my story, so I'll talk a bit about more of that because it definitely informed how I wrote the book. So, you know, unfortunately, if you're dealing with living in a molding home and you're sick, there's a lot to know and right at a point where you really don't feel like learning anything, doing.
Anything, because you're feeling tired and brain fog and.
Exactly. Yeah. The last thing you want to do is deal with all this stuff.
So, yeah, I, again, I had to go through my own journey. I was really at a low of like, just dragging, you know, I got strep throat, I didn't recover. I was getting IV therapy, I was, you know, doing a detox. Like, it wasn't, it wasn't working. And I was at ncnm. I think they've changed their name a bit. But I was at the naturopathic clinic and getting LA's treatments and I was like, there's something going on. Like, I. There's no way I'm trying this hard and it's, it's not working. And they add. They were the ones who asked me about my home and if anything had changed. And it's just a great question to ask yourself or ask your clients. And that got us thinking about. We had this musty basement. It had some water intrusion recently and, you know, kicking and screaming. I agreed to get the mold inspector. I didn't really want to know, but.
You know, in the end it's. It's good you find out. We made a lot of errors in our remediation with moving things around and putting things in cars and bringing things to our new space. So I got sicker. I was like, I. My eyelid was always twitching and this probably scary is one of the scariest things that happened is I started wanting to die. You know, I just.
That's very scary.
Yeah.
I have these fantasies about not waking up in the morning because I was just so tired. And it's really just yourselves talking. I don't think it was a conscious anything. It wasn't like I didn't want to live. I just was so tired. I couldn't imagine keeping going.
So, yeah, you know, my family was dealing with all that. We ended up moving away. I ended up selling a clinic. So there was just a lot of months where, you know, it was just kind of survival mode.
It sucks.
You know, still having symptoms. It doesn't go away quickly. So it really took some time to like, feel into my own recovery, give myself space. I didn't see clients. I just had no energy for clients. And I just, you know, rebuilt my new life. I moved to Arizona. And meanwhile in my. In my practice, I, you know, like I said, I wanted to be talking more about detox and mold. So just slowly, slowly I was doing that. And I guess in there I had an. I had him in the back of my mind to write a book about it. You know, in our circle, everybody's writing a book. So you always think about, well, like, what's. What's my book? What's it going to be? I knew it was a lot of work after seeing so many friends go through it. But I think I finally hit the point where I was like, okay, I have the energy, I have the knowledge. I know the whole process start to finish, because I've been through it. So I set up the book in that fashion. It's kind of a timeline of. Okay, in the beginning, you're mostly thinking about your space. You're thinking about, is it my house? How do I test? You know, what do I do with my stuff? How do I hire someone? So that kind of starts the book. And then we move in more to the body plan, which is really my specialty. I could probably write a second book on some nuances of that. But because once you work on detoxification and getting out of the environment, your body systems have become really dysregulated and damaged. And it takes now a big project to rebuild all those. You know, and I've got a question recently, like, wouldn't that just, like, happen on its own? But that really wasn't my experience. It wasn't my experience that getting out of the mold was enough to just bounce back. Like, you're not, you know, it's like your computer's crashed and you can't just, like, bounce back from it. So I talk a lot about rebuilding the body, and then lastly, I talk about rebuilding your life because it's an incredibly traumatic thing. You're going to lose relationships, you're going to lose money. You're going to have to make big decisions. But if you can be gentle about yourself in that process and not overdo it and be willing to ask for help and. And be willing to take some rest and really say, you know what, maybe I actually want to move back home to Spain or whatever it is. Like, there may be a big decision in there, and I really want to give people hope that they can actually come out with a better life than when they started. So I give some resources and hand holding around that.
Oh, my gosh, it sounds like such an amazing resource and manual because you're right. Like, I mean, when I see patients who have mold exposure, those are exactly the areas that they need help with. I'm really grateful to know that this exists now. Your ultimate guide exists to help people and to help think through all those different questions and decisions I wanted to just touch on. Maybe if someone's wondering, is mold something I should be considering related to my health?
You know, what do you think? When should a person. I mean, probably all of us should be kind of thinking, hey, have I seen any mold in my. The places where I live or work? But what do you think? What do you tell people when they're wondering, hey, is this something I should be considering?
Yeah, you know, it's a great question. And I know that people finding this podcast may come into it at different stages. I give you a thousand applause if you're just. You just showed up curious, like, that's amazing. Because a lot. A lot of times this topic is like, like, why should I learn about it? It's just another thing to learn. It probably doesn't apply to me. I mean, frankly, I was that way, and I was a practitioner. I was like, I don't have time to learn about mold, too. But we all live in A house pretty much. There's not many people who don't. So we actually do need to be aware of our environment and how it can make us sick. So think about in your life, how many different places are you going to live and stay in? You know, several. So as you go to buy a home or rent a place like, these are great things to be aware of as you maintain a home. It's a great thing to be aware of. I think that your listeners and people in my community, Donnie, they do want to take a great care of their body and they know a lot, but they may not really be thinking about some things about home maintenance and the fact that that's really important part too. So what's your indoor air quality? How do you clean? How do you. How often do you change your AC filter? How often do you wet, wet mop and dust? You know, what kind of materials are you bringing into the home? What's your humidity level in your home and your basement? Are you maintaining the roof? Is anybody checked your attic or your crawl space for mold? How quickly do you take care of water, Water intrusion issues? It needs to be within 48 hours. So these are great little things to. Great. I shouldn't say little. These are great big things to know about, just to have in the back of your mind. So that's piece number one is like the home. Have there been any issues? Will, you know, could there be any issues? And unfortunately, some issues that weren't handled correctly could still be a problem. That's just, you know, it's not like now that it's dried up, it's not necessarily a problem because it could be behind your walls. It can be sort of more dormant but still off gassing and stuff. So, okay, so that's piece number one. Piece number two is your health. The tricky part with mold is it's so many symptoms overlap with other issues. So thyroid issues, gut issues, mental health issues. It can affect any system in the body. It can affect your hormones quite a bit, which is something I really like to talk about.
So that's the little bit tricky part. But the good news is you can kind of marry the two sides. And another good news is the mold testing is. Is quite accessible now for the body as it is for the home. So if you want to know, it's not a guessing game. You can actually just test and find out.
Yeah, I think that's. These are all such good points. And I was also thinking as you were talking that, you know, with the pandemic, people are spending more time in their homes. And I'm seeing some cases if there was mold in the home, then the symptoms would have gotten worse with more exposure. So I think right now we're identifying it more just because of that. Just because some people spent even more time in the moldy environment. And then, like you're saying, it can start to show up where you have symptoms in different areas of your body. One of the things, and I'm curious about your take on this, one of the things I often will notice is increase in allergies. So if a person's like saying they have more allergies either to their, say, to dust or pollen, or also allergies to foods more and more reactive to their environment, this histamine signals of histamine being higher, even sinus infection, sinus congestion, it's like all this histamine is around. I think that's when I oftentimes will be like, we got a test for mold. But I'm curious if you.
Yeah, that's a great point. And yeah, and the masterclass we just did, the issue of multiple food sensitivities came up as like a symptom of mold. And a lot of people are aware of the gut now, and I got to work on my gut. But what's causing all that? What's causing all that gut disruption? So mold can be there. And it's. I love that you point out that your allergies. Actually one symptom I developed post, kind of post my own mold exposure is I still have. I got. I developed seasonal asthma, which I had had briefly, like in my teenage years, but gone away for like 25 years. So I was like, what, what is this? Why can't not breathe? And I've been talking to more of my colleagues lately and really realizing the histamine component, I just don't think I've quite gotten over. Plus, I'm in perimenopause. And that can play into it. Yeah, your body can just become sensitized to airborne things because it's experienced airborne threats. And the immune system, sometimes it can be overactive, but in time, it's going to become just depressed. But I think you're right. It's mainly the histamine reaction to what seems to be a threat. Obviously something like pollen isn't a real threat, but your body just sees it that way. So I'm working on my own reconditioning of my gut again. I've already done a lot of work, but one of my speakers, I asked him, I'm like, why do you. Why do you think I still have histamine issues? And he's like, well, you still have a trigger. And I was like, oh. So there's lots of different potential triggers and ways to reset your sensitivity, but yeah, I'm doing some parasite cleansing and biofilm stuff because I think, you know, I don't know your opinion, Donnie, but, like, I feel like it's usually an issue we need to keep coming back to in life. It's not like a one and done.
Oh, absolutely. I mean, I always think of it as like, hey, our digestion is affected by any kind of stress. If it's psycho emotional stress, which we most all have all the time, or toxin exposure, not just molds, but pesticides and other toxins, that alone.
We'Re going to need to be constantly paying attention to our intestinal lining health and our probiotic, our bacteria microbiome health, because they're under constant bombarding attack from our existence. Right. So of course they, they need, they need attention all the time. Yeah. So it's a matter of, to me, it's not a matter of if a person has, say, leaky gut. It's more a matter of how severe is it at this moment in time. Right.
Yeah, yeah, 100%. And I, you know, I have pretty good, I think, digestion and elimination now. But you're. I'm exposed to stuff just like you said. And I, you know, since gone through a divorce and a move and a concussion and like, stress just happens. And I kind of say that in the book, too. It's like, yeah, this sucks. But guess what? That's kind of how life is like, you know, it just keeps coming at you.
Yeah. So we got to kind of like, okay, how do I work on all of it at once and try not to be overwhelmed with that process, because also earlier you, you said that recovery from mold takes time. And that's one thing I always say to patients as well, you know, once. And we can talk about the testing in a second, but once we identify mold, I'm like, okay, here's. Here's what we're going to start working on alongside of the gut health and the hormone balancing and so on. And it's. And just know that it's going to take time. It's a gradual process. We got to get the mold toxins out. We got to get your systems recovered. The body can recover for sure, but it just takes time. Right?
It takes time. It's nice to talk to you as a naturopath. This is like, really Exciting, because it's a little different interview than I, I've done. Like, you really get it. Like, you're in the trenches with people, like, helping them rebuild. And all your knowledge can't make it any faster than the body can do it. And usually you've been exposed for years by the time you find out, unless you found this podcast just the right moment. Which is great because the longer you're in it. Yeah. The more damage you're gonna have. And people often ask me, does everybody get sick? No, not everyone gets sick. And we get sick in different ways and at different paces depending on our age and other factors. But, you know, the likelihood if, if you continue to live in a moldy home year upon year. And like you said, you're home more with the pandemic, which is similar to how I ended up being in the home more is when I started to work online. And yeah, it's probably gonna catch up with you eventually. You know, I'd be curious, Donnie, if we took, you know, a hundred people off the street, how many people would have mycotoxins? And they may not all be. Well, frankly, all humans have symptoms really is the truth of it. But some may say, oh, I feel fine, but I almost think it can be kind of lurking and building up, almost like cancers can. Like.
Yeah.
I interviewed Kevin Connors, who specializes in cancer, and you know, yeah, things take time to develop in the body and then you're shocked to find it. But I think, like, living with all these potent toxins, it's got to catch up with you eventually. I mean, I was trying to have like perfect health habits and I couldn't get ahead of it. So why would somebody who's, you know, you know, living maybe more standard American diet be able to stay ahead of mold?
Yeah, it's such a good point. And I, I love that you're pointing out that it can show up differently for different people because sometimes another person in the same house could have even zero symptoms. And then they're like, what are you talking about? And I think that also then can add a level of stress for the person who is experience mold related symptoms. You know, for them to be like, yes, this is a real thing. This actually really does affect your health. And it may not affect the person standing next to.
Yeah, you know, that's where some of the strife can come within a family dynamic, which is too bad. And that's kind of another reason I wrote the book. I, I did not put the citations in the book. We put them online to make the book less big. But we do have a chapter. It's my favorite chapter. Honestly. It's just the mechanisms by which mold affects your body systems. And you know, honestly, dawning like now that I have this book, I'm like, is anyone gonna read this big one?
But you know, some people recovery. I'm sure they are.
Yeah. I mean like you said, it's a great resource. There's nothing quite like it. I don't know how you know, with people's attentions as fan now how many people. But you know, say you buy it for yourself and you're, you know, you highlight a few things for your spouse and you're just like, could you just read this section? Because this is exactly what I'm expecting, experiencing, you know, that maybe some of the little bit of proof and background a person needs to be like, okay, like I get, I, I'm hearing this, I'm. I'm gonna support you and you know, taking these big steps to, to move and, and make these changes. Yeah.
And like you mentioned before, there's some cost involved. So it's like, and, and if, when it's, it's shocking to think, oh my gosh, is my, my home and then maybe my clothes and my furniture and you know, this mold can kind of get in everywhere. Right. So it's, it's shocking to think, what am I going to lose? It's very, it's also a lot of grief to process.
It's a lot of grief. Yeah. I had items that I would like have a nightmare that night after I gave them away. And yeah, it's a lot. And different people manage that differently. I've kind of seen all sides of the spectrum on that. But yeah, that's kind of why I include it in the book is like I kind of know the freakouts you're going to have at different points because.
I had them like detail them and study them and figure out what to do, you know, strategize about it ahead of time. Absolutely.
Exactly.
Something a lot of people don't know is that too much stress can actually create an abundance of health problems like high blood pressure, high blood sugar, anxiety, migraines, insomnia, even fertility issues. Let'S touch on the testing because I'm with you. Like I'm so glad that we can accurately test for mycotoxins in the human body now because before it was always like, well you know, and people would be doubtful because they can't exactly prove it. Right. They'd be like, well I think I might have mold symptoms but I'm not sure and trying to get in. But it's still not testing that like you're going to get from sort of your primary care doctor. Right. Like let's talk about that. Like how if a person's really worried about this, how are they going to get this testing and you know, how can they advocate for themselves in this related to testing?
Yeah. So you're kind of referring to before there was this urine testing. People would, a very small amount of practitioners would use blood markers of inflammation. Basically they were not markers of mold per se. It was just sort of like when we see this constellation of lab results we can, we can surmise it could be mold. But now there is an at home urine test you can take for one of the toxins that mold puts out. And you know, it's pretty easy because it's kind of progressive. It's not going to be issued by your typical primary care doctor. You may be able to pay for it with like a flex spending plan. That could be possible for sure. I mean the cost of it isn't that bad though. I think it's like 2 to $400 depending on the company, maybe 3 to 400. Which you know, if you've never paid for any of this kind of stuff before, maybe it could have a little sticker shock. But, but it's really not that bad for you know, the information you're getting out of it and especially before you're.
Going to invest on changing your home or your furniture. Like better to spend a few hundred dollars and find out hey, do I have mold toxins in my body? If so, okay, now I can think about these other more expensive decisions.
Yeah. So it's the again going back to the two branches and then we've got your home. And that really depends. Do you rent or own, Is it your work? Is it your home? Like, what's the situation? I would say the gold standard, there is an inspector who will look for the sources and do multiple tests. There isn't any one test that is kind of a DIY perfect test. But you may want to start with some of those just to gather information. But ultimately, especially if you're the homeowner, you're going to need to get deeper and find the root of things. And occasionally things can be, you know, missed in a visual inspection, missed in an air collection. Yeah, it's not perfect in. In the home, it. More of a combo is best. And then you can sort of do a before and after. So we had an old inspector and then we had him come again and, you know, check and test. We ended up deciding to sell the home. But that home was in fantastic condition by the time, you know, we sold it. Yeah, I mean, we cleaned every wall, we replaced the carpets. You know, it was, you know, we didn't feel confident. Confident to live in there just because of everything we had gone through. But I feel confident for the person who's in there now.
And when you like, I know, you know, in the book you have all of the suggestions for recovery, but give us a little hint now of, like, how you. How can a person prioritize? What do you recommend that they start with if they're thinking about, you know, this process of recovery? What does that look like?
Yeah, I think I put basically three steps on the body. Well, maybe we could say four, because one is that information gathering we just talked about in the home. And then the next step would be to check the foundations. And are you doing those things? And I'm sure, Donnie, you would agree with those ones, like getting a good night's sleep, getting movement, getting sunshine, having good relationships, eating real food, taking some basic, good supplements, making sure you're pooping.
So it's like, check, check, check. Are you got. You know, there might be a few you can't check because you need to work on them, but those are the foundations. And then you can move into detoxification. So I put my five favorite techniques and my five favorite supplements, and I mentioned some more techniques because I'm pretty into techniques. And by techniques, I mean things like dry brushing, rebounding, which is a mini trampoline, getting a massage, using the sauna, doing coffee enema. These lymph movers are very powerful when you're trying to detoxify. They were my most powerful tools. Sometimes you may have to see if it's too much for you and go slow at the beginning type of thing. But I found them super helpful. And then the supplements, my top five I listed were CoQ10, glutathione, broccoli seed and sprouts, electrolytes and binders. I think, you know, with a book you have to organize things. So I put those as my favorite. There's certainly other options. And then from there for kind of like the next, the last step, it's more about like rebooting your body systems. And this was a tough one to organize. So I did it by the 10, like 10 common symptoms you might have. So one would be like brain fog. So I talk about some additional tests you can run, supplements I like for brain fog. Kind of the concept of why your brain is inflamed and kind of misfiring right now. So that's sort of how I organize. You don't have to do all of those systems if they're not all acting up for you, but if you have one of them, then it gives you a lot of tools to dig in.
I love that you start from like a foundation and then build up because it's. So sometimes we think we need to go to some specific thing first. But if we don't have the basics of our self care routine, then it's hard to support detoxification. And really we want to ultimately support our bodies to naturally move these toxins out. And I really hear that from what you're saying. We detox through our sweat. Like, that's where like sauna. We detox through our bowel movement through the stool. So we got to keep that going. We got it right. So it's like, is that how you would think about it?
Like, yeah, exactly. Yeah. Yeah. And if you skip a first step, it can really inhibit your ability for the other steps to work. So I think that is probably in line with naturopathic thinking as well. Yeah. And I think our American mindset is we want to skip to like the sexiest treatment we can. Like, oh, I heard about this cool thing like chelation therapy or whatever. I'm like, don't, don't be jumping into that right now.
Yeah. It's so important to pace yourself. Yeah. Because if you push too much, you're going to feel worse. Right?
Yeah. And one thing I see that I don't unfortunately always see echoed in our community is like, if you, if you have symptoms from doing a technique or a supplement, like, you feel more inflamed, like, that's bad. Like some People will say, push through that. No, occasionally you're gonna hit that accidentally because you have to find your limit. But, yeah, that means that you cannot exit the. The inflammatory toxins as fast as you're liberating them. So, no, it is 100. Not a good thing to feel worse when you detoxify. Right. Yeah, that's not how it works.
Yeah, I always say, like, if you feel worse, back off and let's figure out what needs attention before you go forward again.
Yeah, we have a whole. I have wrote an ebook about side effects because I think we can have an emotional response to them too. Like, oh, I can't do this wrong. And why do you sell me this? It's like, no, it's not that simple either. Like, maybe you just need to back off or maybe you skipped one of those foundational steps. You know, some things that I sell and that you sell, Donnie, are probably pretty potent actually. And you have to, you know, consider that. You know, I learned somewhere that the. Some of the herbs and stuff they sell at the grocery store, they're not as strong because they're over the counter. So some of the things that we sell are pretty strong. So you better be, you know, conscious that, yeah, they have effects. They can have really good effects, but they can have side effects of die off or. Yeah, moving toxins too quickly before is more than your liver can keep up or more than you're eliminating them through stool.
And I think a lot of times people hear about binders, but that's in a good example of, like, if you just dive into taking a bunch of binders and your bowels aren't moving or you're not hydrated, it's. It's not, it's. You're not going to get the benefit of it.
Yeah, unfortunately, binders can back you up, but I am just formulating a blend and it has some ingredients to keep it moving.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm not really a person who gets backed up easily, but a lot, many, many people are. So. Yeah, you just have to be, you know, watching all the dials. And as much as I like it, to empower people to do things themselves, because I do believe in that, I think it's really also wise to have different mentors and practitioners that you utilize. I had many. I still have many. You know, because you can't see yourself, like, objectively. Right.
Yeah, no, it helps. It definitely helps. I always, Yeah, I always rely on others for, you know, just giving you more insights. And this is also makes me realize, like, I Know, you also not only have the book, but you offer support through an online program so people can get support from you, you know, along the way, either in your live or, you know, program that you have available online in the future, you know. Right.
Yeah. I mean, right now in this moment, we have kind of a la carte, like lab testing and reviews and we do consultations.
That seems to have been pretty popular with people. As part of this master class, I will have like a four week little course and it's like super affordable. And then we're kind of pondering what else in the future to offer.
You know, maybe just based on what we're seeing people want.
Frankly.
I think it's. I think it's great. I mean, because sometimes it helps to just have like a shorter, you know, like, like your masterclass, a couple weeks of just like, okay, kind of like help me get some momentum and some strategy and focus around this whole project of detoxifying mold and then. Yeah. See what additional support you might need along the way.
Yeah, exactly.
I love it. So I'm going to definitely be sharing your website, your link to your book, the link to your masterclass, the Toxic Mold Masterclass, which is, I mean, you could, we could probably find all of it from your bridgetdanner.com. right.
Yeah, we're. Until the masterclass is sort of behind us, we're not talking about the book as much. We're also waiting on the book audio version. You can find it on Amazon. But yeah, once it's more solidly out there, we'll link to the book as well. From. Yeah, my main site is just bridgetdanner.com.
Which is B R I D, G I T. Right.
Yes. Thanks, mom and dad, for making that extra hard for everybody.
There's a D and two eyes and then the last name is D A N N E R. Right.
Yes. Yes.
So just in case someone's listening without having it in front of them. Bridgetdanner.com and oh my gosh, earlier, it reminds me one of the other things that you and I have in common is Portland, Oregon. Because I said I lived there most of my childhood in that Oregon.
Oh, I don't think I remember that.
Okay. Yeah, so maybe that's also what makes us a little similar, is that.
That location.
Yeah, I didn't think I'd ever leave. You know, there's definitely something special about the. The Northwest, but it's also very wet, which is something I'm not such a fan of anymore.
Right. The mold. But you know, there's Mold. I mean, I'm finding like so many different areas of the country and the world, people have mold. Even a lot of times they didn't expect it, didn't realize it. So I would, I'm going to encourage, especially from just this conversation with you, I would say just ask yourself, hey, have you, have you seen mold in your environment? Are you aware that there was mold that you cleaned out recently? Right. Or like from your basement even, or, you know, just to start to kind of put it in your mind and then, and then, then you can decide if you want to do further testing and if you need to go down this path of recovering from it.
Yeah. And we've got a little free ebook at the site. There's, it's just called like free books or something and it will list some of the testing things and like types of water damage. So I know this is hard to like keep all in your brain when you're hearing it on a podcast. But yeah, we have some free ways to go read a little bit more.
Oh, that's so helpful. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, to just to start down the path and do it in a way that doesn't have to be where you just open up the whole Pandora's box at once. You can kind of go, okay, let me think about this. And little by little, investigate and then see if you need to go further.
Exactly. Yeah. And I think that slow and steady is really what's going to keep you in a place where you can stay grounded and kind of heal and make good decisions. Like, we don't make good decisions from a frantic place. So even though, yes, you could stay up till 2am every morning, like reading about mold, like, please don't do that. It's not good for you. Get to sleep. Right. Take your little Valerian if you need it. And you know, just little by little, I mean, even me being a practitioner, I was thinking still a mom and a business owner, like, I couldn't study all the time. So. Yeah, just study. Just look for like what is in front of you right now to do the next step.
Well, thank you so much for joining me today. Brigitte is so great to get to talk to you. I'm so glad you're feeling better recovering from all this mold and into your new life, sort of your post. Mold life.
Yeah.
Thank you. And it was really fun to talk to you about just kind of the practice of, of all this. I feel like we have a lot in common with how we probably treat people. So that was super fun. Donni. Thank you.
You're welcome. And congratulations again about your new book. Happy for you.
