Dr. Donnie Wilson struggled for decades to solve her numerous health issues and heal her body. But with focused determination, she healed herself and in doing so, she discovered the Dr. Donnie stress recovery Protocol. On this show, you're going to hear from doctors, nutritionists and Experts along with Dr. Donnie, who will give practical advice and wisdom to help heal your body. This is how humans heal.
Welcome to how humans heal. I'm Dr. Donnie Wilson and today I'm really looking forward to introducing you to Jennifer Payer. She's a holistic health practitioner and researcher. She is the author of the recently released Ancient Plant Wisdom book. She's also the founder of Nature Provides, which is an innovative plant stem cell company, as well as the creator of the Nature Provides documentary. And I'm so excited to share her story and all of her work with you because it's a completely different approach to healthcare using plants, plant medicines, medicines from plants that can help us heal, including from cancer related issues. So I really want you all to know about this. Thank you so much for joining me today, Jennifer.
Oh, it's such an honor to be here with you today, Dr. Donny. Thank you so much.
Oh, my gosh. Your story is so inspiring and I want to share that with everyone so they can really understand your passion behind Nature Provides, your book and everything that you do. So maybe let's start there in terms of how you went from completely changing your career based on your health journey and how that's inspiring you to do what you're doing now.
Yeah, well, I had, you know, two major health crises. The first one happened in 08. I was working 20 hours a day. So think about that. I don't even know how that's possible. When I look back, that means I.
Was only four hours of sleep, unless you were sleeping part of the time.
About three hours a night. And, and my body was giving me all of these signs. My lymph nodes were the size of golf balls. I was gaining weight, I was fatigued. No surprise there. And I just kept overriding all of these signs. And so I ended up with pneumonia, bronchitis, shingles, tachycardia, mono, and finally diagnosed with chronic fatigue.
All at once.
All at once, yes. And so that I left the doctor's office that day and he said, jennifer, if you don't change your life, you're not going to be on the planet in five years. And so at that point I came home kind of in a state of shock. That was shock number one. And I'm an avid reader. I was going through my bookshelf and a book called Hands of Light fell on my head.
Wow.
And so I had bought that book maybe 10 years prior, skimmed it, put it on the shelf, falls in my head, and I read it cover to cover. And at the end of the weekend, I looked at my husband and I said, guess what? I'm going to a four year healing school. And he thought I was totally crazy. He's like, wait a minute, you're already working a gazillion hours. And I said, I don't know. I just know that I have to go. And that's that inner voice, right, that we all get and we often don't pay attention to. And this time I knew I had to pay attention. So 2008 really is what catapulted me into the natural healing world. So I went to this four year healing school. I did a two year stint with the indigenous grandmother. So I did a ministry program with them and kind of brought me back to nature, the natural world. And then I did yoga certification and medicinal aromatherapy. Mean, you name it, I did it. And you know, as the universe aligns when we are becoming more in alignment with our purpose and who we are, I ended up leaving that job and getting another job. And I was able to negotiate 60 days off of vacation a year and really able to reduce the stress and come back into balance. Life was great. I graduated in 2012 from school, had a full time healing practice, started working with people, and left the corporate world. And right after I left, I was diagnosed with DCIS, which is ductal carcinoma in situ or stage 0, stage 1 cancer.
At that time, I knew it was really had to hunker down. I changed my diet, changed my stress levels, and literally moved into monitor mode. Every six months I was having an ultrasound, everything was fine. Six months later, ultrasound, everything was fine. For three years I had calcified cells in my breast and no issue.
And then I went back into a corporate job, which is fascinating. I had an old boss call me up and say, I need a strong leader, Jen, will you come back and will you work for me? And I meditated on it, Dr. Donnie, for a month. And I'm like, okay, why is this showing up? And so I kind of just followed that impulse. And three months later I had stage four cancer. No. So I went from literally DCIS that I had had for three years, no movement, everything was fine, to going back into this high stress, travel every week, environment and boom, then I got the big two by four. And that was the one that I said, okay, this part of my life is not working and I've got to dig deep and make some major changes.
Well, it really shows you, like, I mean, I think what you're describing is quite common. We tend to be what might be considered a workaholic, you know, where we're working more hours than we're doing anything else and we're setting aside our needs like you were saying you were. You are not even getting, not even four hours of sleep every night, which is a human need, let alone time in nature and time to eat healthy foods. And right when we, but we, we so much get caught up in this societal norm of work, work, work all day long and then get just a little bit of sleep, we can do without sleep and then go back to work again. And it, it becomes like, do you think, I mean, when you, when they called you and asked you to come back, I mean it. There must have been part of your nervous system that was like, I've done that before, I know how to do it, I'll just do it again. Kind of a part of. Right. There's that, that sort of maybe old neuro programming that led you there, do you think?
Oh, for sure. And it was one part of my healing journey that I had not addressed, which was my nervous system. And there was this, you know, adrenaline rush. And you know, I joke that being a workaholic is the only addiction where you actually get paid really well to do it and you get promoted and you get big bonuses when you do it because you're getting stuff done in a corporate environment.
So it's like encourages you to keep going.
Feeds the beast. Ah, beats the beast.
Ah, this. I'm so glad we're talking about this because it is an addiction and it's, and it's, and it does require that we have to. Sometimes we have to hit that point of a severe illness. Like in your case. Right. You had to, you were probably ignoring a lot of symptoms. But when you hit that stage four cancer, that's what made you say enough is enough.
Yeah, that's when I knew it was serious. And I'm like, okay, I cannot just tweak my life. I have to make some really big changes. And you know, as somebody who had this very serious cancer, I think it's a three pronged thing. Right. You've got an immune system issue, got a toxic burden issue, and then you have a nervous system issue or some type of emotional trauma. So I, you know, I had picked little pieces of those three prongs to heal, and I'd made some progress. But, you know, I believe that we're always getting these messages like, slow down, you need rest. That's when your body repairs itself. Right. All these messages that I just kept pushing and pushing away. And I think a lot of us do that.
Yeah.
The point that it's like, okay, you can't do that anymore. It's not working for you.
So what. What did you do then? What did you. What did you decide and how. And you're here now, 10 years later.
So now, 10 years later, where I feel vibrant and vital. You know, the big thing that I did, I did do surgery, but I got such a strong message that chemo and radiation, the standard of care, was not my path, which was not very popular in my family. You know, my family said, you need to do whatever the doctors are telling.
Worried about you?
Yeah, about me. And I said, for the first time, I've got to listen to my. My body. And my body's telling me there's a better way for me, and I just have to trust it and follow it. So that was the first time I really started meditating. I really started go, you know, going inside, being still and just being curious, like, okay, what is wanting to emerge in me that I have not allowed, that I've kept out, I've shut down, I've ignored, and what is it, you know, that is going to lead me forward? And I just sat in this. I call it the dirty diaper. I was sitting in this, like, space between, like, you know, my whole life had been defined by my corporate career. And all of a sudden that, you know, I let that go and I'm like, okay, now what. What am I supposed to do with my time? You know? And so it's just sitting in this emptiness, this very uncomfortable surrender to say, okay, something new is wanting to come, come through, and it can't come through with that old, old way of being.
Yeah. Yep. That is very uncomfortable. When we. When we start to create a change and then we're like. And you're so used to doing, doing, doing. It's hard to know, what do you do when there isn't like a mile long to do list. Yes.
I remember asking a mentor, can you give me the instructions on how to be? Like, give me the to do list of how to be. He just started laughing, which is true. But that's how my life was defined at the time. And I didn't know how to just be.
Yeah, yeah. It's like breathe, eat, drink water, sleep.
Repeat the outside in nature. Right?
Outside. Absolutely, absolutely. And that, and it's. I'm sure that some of the, in the work that you had been doing in the. It was the Barbara Brennan School. Right. And then working with the indigenous.
Tell us you were, you were working in these indigenous grandmothers to learn about plant medicine and being in nature and the power of nature. Right?
Yeah. And you know, when I Look back, Dr. Donnie, I mean, I was a tomboy out in nature my entire childhood. I mean, I would come home from school, throw my book bag down, and I would be outside until 9 o' clock at night and you know, hours and hours. And then, you know, when I look back, taking a job in the financial world, sitting under fluorescent lights in front of a computer, I was like the first generation to have a computer in your office. And, you know, I just, I just started disconnecting more and more and more from that little girl who loved to be outside, loved to be in the sun, loved to be in the grass. And I think that was a big part of the healing journey, was coming back to nature, coming back to the plants and moles and, you know, recognizing that I had just had this total deficit in my body.
Well, so is that how you, what led you to the plant stem cells? Tell us about that connection. How did you find plant stem cell therapy and, and how did that become part of your treatment approach?
Yeah, I always joke that they found me. So I was in, you know, I, I left corporate in 2017. Life was great, you know, had more balance in my life. And then in 2019, my cancer markers were going up. Sorry, 2018, my cancer markers were going back up. And I went, wait a minute, what, what's going on? I've got balance in my life. Life is great. I'm calm. You've been working a little bit on my nervous system. And so I happened to be on the phone with a friend whose husband was a doctor, and she said that, well, my husband works with people with cancer. You just want to make sure you don't have a recurrence, so why don't you fly out to Dallas and come and let him do an assessment. So I did, I just trusted what she said. And literally he came out one day and he was holding this bottle and he said, jennifer, this has saved a lot of my patients lives. And just very casually I said, oh, that's great. What is it, Dr. Michael? He said, it's embryonic plant stem cells and the Only way I can describe it is I felt like I was struck by lightning. I looked at him and I said, I can't tell you why, there's no logic to it, but I have to find out about these. I don't know why, but I need to know. And so three months later, I got myself invited to a week long immersion on the plant stem cells. And on the last day, the prior owner of this company said, I'm going to be selling the company. And boom, here comes the same bolt of lightning.
Wow.
So it was a week long class, totally divine, divinely guided to be there. And so what was weird is the man did not have any products with him during the class. So I had no experience at all. And I'm an experiential learner. And so I got home and I meditated for about a month and then I called him up and I said, will you put me on a protocol? And within two months, I started in March of 2019. By the end of April, my cancer markers were back in the normal range. And in that moment, I knew I had a knowing in my body. I'm an intuitive. I kept seeing light coming into my body. And so I knew in that moment that I was supposed to be the steward of these plants. And so we ended up buying the company.
Wow. And that is so, that's so amazing. I can totally feel the goosebumps when you, when you tell that story. Story. And I can completely see how exciting that must have been to be like, wow, this, this. Yeah, they're finding you and you're finding them at the same time. And you're like, this is what I'm meant to do. And that's like. I think that that's such a beautiful story of like when your passion becomes your purpose, right? Where you're just like. And you start to see how you're so aligned with yourself that you're now in alignment with something that you can then share with others too.
Yes. Yeah. Then it became my mission. I wanted to know everything that I could about these plants. Just to give you a quick little snippet. The plant stem cells reside in the new growth on the plants in the springtime. So right now we're in spring, it's in full bloom. I can go outside and I can see these little buds on the trees. It's those little buds that are undifferentiated. They have not become the bark, a flower, a stem, a leaf. And so in that growth phase, they do so many beautiful things, but the first thing they do Is they clean up the cell, the tissue and the organs. So they are known as drainers. So they are drainage remedies that clean up the inside of the body. I think the most spectacular thing they do is they bring the extracellular matrix back online. So that is our fascia, that's our neural network. Now the body is communicating again. When you take an illness like cancer, the immune system is not recognizing the cancer cell, and that's why they can proliferate and grow out of control. The immune system is not taking care of it. By bringing that extracellular matrix back online, the body can now recognize, oh, there's a problem over there. I'm going to actually send resources to go take care of it. So to me, that's where they really shine. And then they also reach your system.
Here's where you need to pay attention to.
Yes. Yeah. They bring a light, right? They're bringing light into the body to say, hey, this is out of balance. That's out of balance. And. And starting to bring homeostasis and coherence. And then the last thing they do is regenerate things that have broken down in the body. So if some. It's like if an arteries clog, the body can regenerate a new artery to figure it out and get blood flow there until the other arteries cleaned out.
They're pretty amazing. And they have both a biologic and an energetic. It's almost like if homeopathy meant adult herbs. That's what you're getting.
Yeah. Each plant has different conditions that it helps with.
Correct. So plants have an affinity for an organ system and a body system.
Amazing. So then it's through a process of learning and I suppose, trying. Right. You have to try different plants and see how. What did it help with? And then you create kind of a.
A book of. Here's this. This one's good for this, this one's good for this. And then you're. You're harvesting them directly from the plants.
Yes. So they all come from the Italian Alps, high up in the mountains. What I love is that land is very sacred land. So it's prayed over. You see statues, you know, different deities as you're driving up the mountain. Not sprayed with anything. No heavy metals. So they're very unique in the cleanliness of the atmosphere that they come from. And all of those buds are handpicked, which is incredible. So the intentionality and the relationship with the plant, to me is hugely important. And I know you work with plants as well. You know, protocols are great. A lot of Practitioners will say, give me a protocol for xyz. And I do that. But I also remind them, have a relationship with the plant. Give thanks to the plant because it's offering itself to you for healing. And that's something I learned from the grandmothers when I worked with them, is, you know, these plants, they're our elders. They were here long before us as humans, and. And they're here to serve and to support us at a great time of this chronic illness that we have on the planet.
And they can have, like, their own personality and, like, being that comes with them. So it's like seeing them as this, you know, more than just, you know, because we tend to be dismissive of plants and. But it's really embracing. Hey, these are, these are. These plants have a life of their own and a. And an intelligence.
They have an intelligence and a wisdom that they're bringing to the body. You know, I started channeling plants back in 2010, and it. And I didn't tell anybody because I thought, this is the weirdest thing ever. But I would sit with a plant, even outside, and it would start giving me information. And so, you know, part of what I was inspired to do, I bought every book that existed. The medical term is gemo therapy. Gemmo means bud. Latin word for bud. I bought every book that I could find and just devoured it because I wanted to learn more and as much as I could. And the books are pretty old. They talk about the same 38 plants over and over. It's like. And so I started to become curious when I started reading these books five years ago, like, well, if those plants have plant stem cells and juvenile phytohormones and exosomes and peptides and all these wonderful things, why wouldn't every plant. And so we started expanding the repertoire of plants, and that's what inspired me to write the book, was I wanted to get this out to people so they understood. It's an amazing modality that hasn't really been talked about a lot, but I wanted to go deep on each plant so that somebody could actually build that relationship with the plants.
Wow. It's beautiful. It's so amazing and it's so true, because there's going to be different plants than what exist in the Italian Alps. And, and, and how. How are. What is their intelligence and what can they help us with healing? And, And I want to just point out that, you know, a lot of times we hear about stem cell therapy in terms of using human cells for these. Some similar ideas of, of of regrow. Right. Or, or, you know, kind of like bringing life back to the body in certain areas. And, and this is, there's a parallel, it seems, between what would be thought of as, you know, human plant stem therapy and plant stem cell therapy. Maybe you can speak to that a little bit.
Yeah, I found a great article back in 2018 that talks about the symbiotic relationship that plants have with humans and it talks specifically about plant stem cells and how when we consume a plant that has plant stem cells in it, it is going to activate and regenerate our stem cells. So we have this great, you know, synchronicity between the two. Just no different than, you know, eating plants and consuming plants we know are healthy for us. So now we're just getting deeper and deeper into what properties these plants are giving to our bodies and supporting us in healing.
Such an amazing tool. And the thing is, then you, I would think there's very little risk of side effects or contraindications or certainly not withdrawal symptoms. So it's a very safe therapy.
Very safe. Compared to, we use these with babies. I even have used them with animals. And I wrote, there's a chapter in the book about how to use these with animals. I've used them with 90 something year olds, 94 year old, I think. So one of the things I love is with these you don't need a binder, which is so unusual. So the intelligence of these plant buds is if a main detoxifying organ like the liver has an issue and it's compromised, you know, methylation issue, they will recruit another organ in the body to get the toxins out. So it's like they have this intelligence like, oh, okay, this organ is blocked. Let's try the kidneys, let's try the colon. So they will keep finding a pathway. And so you don't need binders, which, the binders are great. But they can also bind good things in the, in the gut as well.
It's so true.
So you don't need the binder and they're super gentle and I love that they're drops because for people that are super sensitive, you can do two to three drops. And for people that aren't, you can use, you know, up to 15, 20 drops.
So these are not in a capsule form. These are in a liquid, where you're in a liquid form drop straight in your mouth or in water.
Yeah, you can do them either. Or, you know, I'm so used to them, I've been using them now for five years. So some I take, I have them directly on my desk like this one's the lymph health. You know, if I feel like, oh gosh, I've been sitting at my desk for a while, I'm going to stand up, take, you know, work with the lymph health. But I take several in the morning and I just put them in a small amount of water, give thanks and then sip them.
I know I've said that several times but I really feel like, you know, that gratitude piece and the relationship piece adds more energy, it adds more healing capability in the body because we're more open to receiving that.
Have you been dealing with high risk HPV virus and potentially abnormal cells on your Pap smear result? I'm Dr. Donnie Wilson, naturopathic doctor and midwife and I've been helping thousands of women over the past 24 years to help them clear the HPV virus to negative and prevent cervical cancer. And I would love to teach you as well. I invite you to join me at my next free 5 day online workshop. I'm going to be teaching you all about hpv. I'll teach you all about understanding your Pap smear results, clearing HPV to negative and help you to understand what's making you susceptible to this virus in the first place. Just click on the link down below and it will guide you to join me at the very next workshop where I'm going to be able to guide you to create your healing plan to get rid of hpv. I look forward to seeing you there in the workshop. Absolutely. And it's the intention, you know, I think whenever we put something in or on our bodies, the, it's the intention in that moment of, of like you're saying how we receive it and, and, and how we can be in alignment with what the purpose is. And, and we're so used to, you know, a lot of times I talk with patients because we, we're so used to a pill that's you know, there for theoretically a medicine or medication but it's often for a suppression of something, a suppression of symptoms or band aid effect or, you know, the quick fix. And, and so sometimes, and sometimes people are having a lot of side effects to those substances so they start to associate a pill with I'm going to react to it or that might be harmful to me. And so then it's hard sometimes for, yeah, someone who's very sensitive and having a lot of reactions to even be able to do anything because their body starts trying to protect them from everything, even sometimes things that are going to.
Be helpful for us. Yes.
Yeah. But if it's like we can use a different form and we create a different relationship and we know it's working differently now we're working with plants in a very gentle form that have this ability to bring intelligence, to remind ourselves cells and remind our body. What we need is a whole, it's really a whole different means of healing.
Yeah. And I think you and I both come from the belief system that the body is always trying to heal. Right. It's always wanting to come back into balance. And the question is, are we paying attention? I've even learned, you know, cancer is such a scary word and there's a lot of fear in the collective around the word cancer. And I've looked at cancer as it's just information that your body is out of balance. Right. And so it's just giving you information and so what will you do with that information?
But the other thing that I really love about these plant stem cell remedies is they're also spagyric. So Spagyric is about a 400 year old process that Paracelsus identified where. So the only thing in this bottle is organic grape alcohol and organic glycerin. And those are essentially what are extracting the active principles out of those little plant buds. After those buds are macerated for about 28 days, they pull the plant material out, they press it, they burn it. This is the spagyric process. And then they extract the cell salts from it and put it back into the liquid. So now you're getting all of the oligo elements, all of the mineral elements of that plant back in the tincture. And then there's a natural condensation process that is spiralizing the tincture about a thousand times a day. So then you get this product that's structured, it's got this energetic product with, with the cell salts and then the plant buds that are these miraculous little, you know, baby plants that contain all of the vital life force of the plants. So you're getting all of that coming into the body.
Mind blowing to think of that level of detail and that. Do you know when someone figured out gemotherapy? Is it how old has this been?
Yeah, so I, I traced it all the way back to Saint Hildegard of Bingham who was born in 1108. She wrote a book in night in 1158 called Spagira. And in there she talks about the buds of eight trees. So I know for sure that's the first documentation that I can find. And then for 800 years, you can't find anything. Totally went underground. And then in 1958 in Europe, Dr. Paul Henri started studying them and started giving them and was really focused on organ health. He was looking at the kidneys and the liver initially. From there, from 1958 on, I can find a lot more research. But pretty fascinating that they made an appearance, went underground, and then came back out. Really. There are about four companies that do this, they're all in Europe. And so a big part of my mission has been, okay, I've been in, you know, holistic health for a little while. How did I not hear of these? Why don't I know about these? And metabolic health is at its worst ever. And you know, our mitochondria are not healthy and that's where these shine. So I'm like, okay, it's time to get them out into the world so that other people can work with them for coming back into coherence.
We need them. We need them. And, and I'd love to talk a little bit about a couple of them specifically, if you don't mind. And knowing that, I mean, one of the main conditions that I help with and that my audience is interested in has to do with vaginal health and specifically women who are diagnosed with high risk HPV virus. And high risk HPV virus is associated with cancer risk, cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, and as well as other cancers in the body. So we're talking about a virus that can trigger cancer risk. And here you are saying, hey, these, these gemotherapy plant stem cells remedies have been able to help reset the cellular health and prevent cancer. So what would you say, how would we think about using these medicines for the case of HPV related cancer risk?
Yeah. So, you know, it's fascinating. I'm a huge researcher and I love to learn. And you know, when I first started my studies, this plant I had never heard of called hedge maple kept appearing. And so, you know, I kept looking and going down deep down the rabbit hole. And hedge maple is a wonderful plant for viruses. What I didn't know is that it is a plant for RNA viruses and.
Herpes. And that whole family is actually a DNA virus, meaning it's a gene that has mutated in the body. And so there is a wonderful plant stem cell called dog rose, also known as rosehip seed. It has a very high concentration of vitamin C in it, but it is the best plant for the DNA type of viruses. So that is one of my favorites. It also helps with lymphocytes and CD4 in the body. So it is going to be doing a lot to help minimize the impact of that virus in the body. And the goal is to get it right into remission so that it's not having an impact. And so that is great. It also stimulates natural killer cells. So it's the second highest plant concentration that has vitamin C in it.
And that's true. We do think of rosehips that way and how amazing that it can help the immune system because that's what we need to do.
Because I always explain to women the human body has the ability to clear high risk HPV virus, but our immune system gets depleted by all the stress. The workaholism that we talked about before. Before. Right. Where if as women, even if we're not in a corporate position like you were, where you're working away like that, but a lot of times women are. We're still workaholics doing something else. You know, being healthcare providers or. Or being home care providers for children or parents or. Right. And we just. We're taking care of everyone else and not ourselves. And when we're under that kind of stress, let alone trauma. And I'd love to come back to trauma to talk about more with you as is. It depletes our immune system. So then all of our. How's our cells or lymphocytes going to protect us from a virus when. When the immune system is depleted by stress and trauma. And so I work a lot with all different ways to. How do we help? Because your immune system can recover. The immune system. Right. We can recover from stress. We can get the immune system working again. And. And what a beautiful tool to use in these. In these plant stem cells from rosehip to help the immune system be able to identify HPV and say, no, you can't hijack my DNA and my nucleus of my cells and cause cancer. This is my body. And you can take your. Take your power back in that way.
Absolutely. Yeah.
This is.
That's a plant dog. Rose is one that I use almost all winter long because being my immune system strong, it's keeping me healthy. You know, knock on wood. I mean, I didn't get the big C back in the day. I have not gotten sick. So that I think that's a testament to these. These plants. They have absolutely kept me healthy and not getting sick at all.
And I love the lymph drainage idea too because lymph is something that we don't often hear about.
However, it's essential. Right. We're always Thinking of our blood flow, but there's also lymph that's flowing. Maybe you can speak to that a little bit more of like how important that is and how these, I'm calling them remedies. Do you refer to them as remedies?
I do. I call them plant stem cell remedies.
Yeah, Yeah.
I mean, the lymph and the fascia are two, I think, of the most under talked about. I think they're starting to get out there more in the world.
And.
And when I look back on my own health journey, I ate healthy, I exercised, and I thought I was good. I'm like, okay, those two things. I'm good now. Stress off the charts. I totally hijacked my immune system, but I never addressed this nervous system issue, this fight or flight. When I look back, I think I was in fight or flight from probably age 3 on. So no matter what you throw at the body, if you're not addressing the lymph system and the fascia, the body will hold on to that trauma. I had a lot of trauma in my childhood. The body will hold on to that trauma. And then it's really hard to receive. It's really hard to take something in. You know, prior to these remedies finding me, I was taking 120 supplements a day, 40 pills in the morning, 40 at lunch, 40 at dinner. And I was doing Coq 10, curcumin, turmeric, all of the good ones. But because I hadn't addressed this lymphatic system that was on lockdown, because I hadn't addressed my nervous system, which was completely frozen in fight or flight, my body just really couldn't take anything in. That was the key. And I think it's a key for most of us that if we start addressing the stress levels, the cortisol, the fight or flight, the nervous system, now the body can relax enough and feel safe enough to say, okay, now I can take in, now it's safe to receive.
Yeah, I totally see that. And I see that all the time. And well, all my patients, that's what I love to write about, like in the Master Stress Reset health book. And I see that also in women who are dealing with high risk HPV and cervical cancer risk. And you wouldn't at first think, think, what is, you know, what is the vagina? Or what is cancer have to do with stress? And yet for you and I, when you look at the research, it's so clear because we know that, that, you know, sometimes we think, oh, there's nothing I can do about the stress or. Or we. So we just dismiss it. You know, we feel like I could never, you know, I have this stress, but I can't do anything about it. I just have to keep powering through. And. And yet what we, you know, like, with your story, you show like, you got to a point where, like, you absolutely had to shift things or else it was going to take you out.
Right. Or I wouldn't be here for sure.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, how powerful. And to just know that it's possible to heal the nervous system, it's possible to re. Optimize the cortisol levels, it's possible to support the lymph system. And then the body, like you said, it's always has this intention of wanting to heal. So if we give it the right support, it's just going to do that. It's going to do the healing process.
Yeah, it's just going to do it naturally. Right. Because that's what it's. It's trying to come back into homeostasis.
Yeah.
Did you say you use these in animals too?
Yeah, I use. I wrote a chapter about animals in the book. Yeah. So it's fascinating. Dogs are very different than cats and we've used them on horses as well. Dogs are more likely to drink something from a water bowl. But a cat, they have a super sniffer. No way. So you can actually put a drop on your finger and put it in their ear flap. Not in their ear canal, but in the flap of the ear. And my cat had the zoomies, which is where they all sudden they get this rush of energy and she went flying across the room, smacked into the wall, hurt her leg. And I have a holistic vet and he said, oh, it's probably going to take three months to heal this. Looks like she might have torn a ligament in her knee.
Oh, no.
And I started using a plant called Virginia creeper, which is phenomenal for the connective tissue and the fascia. And a week later she was completely back to normal. That's how quickly it worked. Just from me putting one drop in her ear and then I would go to the other one. So I just alternated her ear flap. You can also use the anus, but I'm like, no, I'll take the ear flap. That's. I'm good with that. Yeah, yeah.
And I've. I've. Yeah, you can get transdermal medicines into the ear that way. And it's. Yeah, that's it. Usually they're much more likely to. Yeah. Let you Touch their ears. Is the, so in the book, in the ancient plant wisdom book, do you go through these different plants and like this plants for this and this plants for this?
I do, yeah. Yeah. So I, I go through what are plant stem cells, how do they work, why do they work, what's the science behind them? And then I have like a mini materia medica in the center of the book for each plants. And then right after that I have a section for different health conditions if somebody's dealing with, you know, Parkinson's or Ms. Or cancer or, you know, hpv. So then I've got, you know, which plants I would recommend for those, those issues.
And then the, then people can go to the nature provides website to find them. And I, and I'm going to be sharing a link to where you can, you can find some of the remedies that we are speaking about today. And, and so you can find those easily and get started with it. Would you say that can someone just get them and get started? Is there anything they need to consider before starting in?
No, I mean just the main thing is to know if you're a sensitive. Being low and slow is the best. You know, I think for anybody, I'd rather have you start with, you know, three drops twice a day and say, okay, I'm feeling good. And then build your way up. Usually for weight, like for women our size, you know, somewhere between 100 and 150 pounds. I would say, you know, 10 drops twice a day is great. For men, it's more like 20 drops twice a day. And then there are times when somebody's dealing with something acute. Like if somebody has an HPV outbreak or has some type of outbreak, then I microdose, you do a drop every hour and it will immediately get in the system and start to regulate and clean things up. Wow.
So you can use it acutely and then you could use it for something chronic. And then you start and you're really listening and noticing how the body's responding. To know do when you start to see your body's responding, then you might find a maintenance dose or maybe if the acute situation resolves, then you taper off.
Yeah, exactly.
Okay, I got it, I got it. That's good. I, I, it is similar to homeopathy. Like I feel myself like wanting to prescribe it or recommend it, similar to how I might recommend homeopathy.
Very much so much so.
And it, and it goes with other things. Do people worry about can I take it with certain medications, Can I take it with what do you find? Is there any. Anything.
The question I get asked all the time, you know, that is one of the greatest things about these plant remedies is you can take them with pharmaceutical drugs, you can take them with homeopathy, you can take them with adult herbs, you can take them with vitamins and minerals. So they really play nice with all other modalities not competing. And in the case of somebody's on pharmaceuticals, what they'll do is, you know, every pharmaceutical has a single point focus that it's working on, but it also has things that are not good for the body. Right. So it will basically drain out what's not good for the body and leave what is good for the body intact. So that's what I love about them.
Benefit from other.
Exactly. And I've had, you know, I actually had a. An eye doctor who had a heart attack. And he was on. I forget what medication he was on. Metro tropical, I think, is what was the medication he was on. And he said, you know, I really want to get off this. I said, don't do anything rash. Stay on that.
Start some.
Hawthorne hawthorn is one of the best plants for the heart. And what he found was, two weeks later, he went to see his doctor, and his doctor said, oh, we're going to lower your dose. You don't seem to need as much. And then two weeks after that, he said, oh, this is weird. But you don't. Your body is not seeming to need this. You know, a month of taking Hawthorne at the same time of taking his medication, he was able to wean off of it, you know, with his doctor, which is great. Which I love. I'm like, you know, work with your doctor to do that. Don't just go cold turkey.
Yes. Okay. So be careful if you're. If you're, like, if you're. Yeah. Taking something for your blood pressure monitor and see how your body's shifting. Notice. And then. And this way you can get the benefit without the. Without any kind of like. Because when you. That's the thing. We. We forget that when we. Our body starts feeling better, we may need less of what we were using to treat a condition. Right.
Yes. 100.
Isn't that this so powerful. I'm so glad you came to talk with us about this today. And thank you for your book and the documentary. Oh, my gosh. Like, how exciting to be able to share all of this with the world. What. What have people been saying about the book and the documentary?
I mean, we. I've been getting emails virtually every day. So the. The. The book is really a little bit about my healing journey, a lot about the plants. The documentary is a lot about my healing journey and a little bit about the plants. So we do, you know, so my folks flew out to Italy last year, so a lot of the footage came from the mountains in Italy, which is beautiful. But just. I think what I stand for is giving people hope to go from a stage four diagnosis. I was given, I think, 23% chance of survival in five years. That was 10 years ago. And I think that happens a lot is when people get diagnosed with a serious issue.
A seed is planted. For me, it was like, oh, 23% chance of living, and that seed gets planted. I work with a lot of cancer patients. I'm on Dr. Naysha Winter's board. I work with a lot of cancer patients. And what I tell them is, let's take that seed and let's unpluck it. Let's throw it away, and let's let your body do what it's designed to do. I feel like what I stand for is bringing people hope that you can heal from these diagnoses. It does require. It's an inside job. I say that all the time. There's not something out here that is going to fix everything. There's the trauma and the nervous system that has to be resolved so that the body can actually come back into a position of safety. The documentary is really a lot about that. I call it the great Unraveling. Unraveling. The things that I think are what led me to the diagnosis in the first place and me coming back to my true nature.
Beautiful. Oh, my gosh. Thank you for sharing that story. And it's. It's so true, like what you said earlier, that. That we realized that. That the diagnosis, like cancer, is a. Is the messenger. And if we can shift that perspective and see, wow, what is the message? How. And it's maybe more than one message. Like you said, it's like the onion, the layers of the onion, or the. The unraveling where you start to see all the different layers. And that becomes our. Our life journey. Right. Is more like, we think, you know, oh, we're. We're actually. When we're working, working all the time, endless hours, we're kind of missing out on life. But this is actually saying, hey, this is your. Your life journey is discovering what your body needed in order to heal. And then it becomes your way of serving as well, serving others. So it's very beautiful. I. I love to. To see that. And I Appreciate you sharing that. How amazing.
Yeah. And I view my role as being a steward of these plants. And, you know, I'm not a big believer of, you know, owning plants, owning land. I know we all do, you know, to some extent. But, you know, again, coming back into that respect for nature and just knowing, you know, I'm just their plant mama and their steward and I'm just here to get the message out and to be of service for others, to support them in their healing journey.
Yeah. I always say, of course nature provides all this support for humans to heal. Of course.
