Hi.
Hi.

She's also mother of the Clean Beauty movement and founder of Primal Life Organics. What she does is she helps empower women to embrace natural beauty while achieving optimal health. And she does that by teaching women how to switch to skincare that's safe for your hormones. And so I'm really excited for you to be here with us today, Trina. Trina is the best selling author of the book Beauty's Dirty Secret and she is going to be telling us all about how to choose skincare products that help support your health instead of working against your health. So especially for fertility and perimenopause and menopause, Tell us more. Trina, I'm so glad you're here.
Hi, Dani. Thank you so much, first of all, for having me on. This is a really important topic, especially when you're talking about healing the body. If you don't. As we all know, if you keep retoxing every single day, you're not really getting anywhere. You're on a hamster wheel because you have to keep detoxing as you're retoxing and hoping that you're detoxing faster than you're retoxing.
One great term, I like this term, retox. Right? It's like, right. You get to like. And you're right. How do you stay ahead of it fast enough?
Yeah. Especially in this day and age where everything, I mean, we're even being.
Embarked by EMFs and things that we weren't 20 years ago weren't really a factor in our health. And today they play a huge factor which will then affect the way your body detoxes and your detox pathways. So we have to be extra careful today because of all the new ways that we're being retoxed every day. So, you know, with skin care, it's really important to understand that, you know, you need to control what you can control. There are things that you can't control. Pollution, some of the emf, you know, with all of the different WI fi and, you know, networks out there. So there are some things that you just can't control, which is why it's really important that we control what we can control, which would be our food, water, and then what we're putting directly on our body. And that would be your skincare products.
I mean, that's the thing is, I know it can feel very overwhelming when people find out, when they start to realize, okay, wait a minute, I'm getting exposed to a lot of toxins and even electromagnetic toxins every day. And then sometimes it just feels so overwhelming, we just, like, give up. We're like, I don't know. I don't know where to begin. I just give up. So I'm so glad that you're here helping women to say, no, no, don't just give up. There's a lot of things you can do and there's steps you can take that actually make a difference. Maybe we can talk more about, like, what health issues would you say it's really worth thinking about this and working on this?
I would say all of them. All of the above. If there is a checklist and even the ones that you don't have yet. So whether you're in your 20s and you're listening to this and you're like, oh, I don't have menopause. I don't have to worry about that for 20 more years. Well, yes, you do, because what you do today affects your health down the road. And fertility for those ladies that are in their 20s and 30s is a big thing. You know, infertility is on the rise. And a lot of that has to do with our food supply as well as our water and our skincare products that are affecting us. So even, you know, when we talk about menopause and infertility, those are big ones. But diabetes, any type of inflammatory diseases, these are all affected. Heart health is affected by personal care products, including especially your dental products that you're using, your mouthwash, your toothpaste and things like that. So it really is all of the above. Because your skin is your second gut. It absorbs about 60% of whatever you put on it. It will absorb it within about 30 seconds. But that's about where the similarities between ingesting your food and absorbing it through your skin ends. When you ingest food, our normal way, when we think about eating, we think about a sandwich or a steak or whatever. So the main difference is that when you ingest it through your Mouth, your body has that pathway to detox you. So the hepatic vein will send your blood to your liver from your digestive system to get rid of the toxins. It'll convert those toxins from lipid soluble or fat loving to water soluble. So you can excrete them in your urine, in your feces and other, you know, your breath and things like that, your sweat. However, when you ingest through your skin.
The toxins will get into your venous blood. So it's venous blood that goes back to your lungs, it's on its way back to your lungs to be reoxygenated and then it goes directly to your heart. So that your heart pumps the blood everywhere in your body. So it's not going back to your liver, it's getting pumped throughout your body, including up your carotid to your brain. So that's why a lot of these toxins and they are able to pass the blood brain barrier, cause brain fog and other issues with our brain and nervous system, but they also get pumped everywhere else. So your reproductive organs, your thyroid gland and these toxins are overwhelming. When we look at skin care.
Wow. I mean, even just to remind us that we absorb through our skin, right. Like to start, just stop and realize, hey, if I put something on my skin or even in my mouth, it's being absorbed, like you're saying, straight into your bloodstream and not even going through the liver first, straight to your brain or straight circulating around your body. So it really does like give us extra, a bit of encouragement to pay attention to what we're putting on our skin and in our mouth. It's not just what we swallow. And then if we start to look at the ingredients and I think this is, I know for myself a lot of times on this packaging the font is so tiny, right. You just kind of think, and the marketing is so good. So it could be like, oh, this is going to like prevent aging. This is going to do all this good stuff. And so you just, we end up just put slathering it on our skin and we are not even really. It's not like even a food product where it's, you know, easier to see the ingredients. Right. Sometimes on these skincare products, it's hard to see what's in there.
Oh, sometimes it's extremely tiny. Yeah. And I always say, you know what, they're selling you. So they're selling you what you're talking about. They're selling you, you know, this is going to get rid of your fine lines and Wrinkles and discolorations, it's going to protect you from the sun. This is what they're selling you. So when you're the consumer and you're looking at that beautiful little bottle or the print or the, you know, the marketing on the landing page on the website, because so many people buy things online now, everything is geared towards what they're selling you. What you're really buying and paying for is in the fine print of the ingredients. So I always, you know, we have to get in the habit of reading the ingredient list, even if it's super tiny. Take a picture of it and then make your font make it bigger on your screen so you can read it. And if you look at that ingredient list and you wouldn't put that in your mouth to eat it, you shouldn't put it on your skin. The problem today is that just like the food industry has evolved to be more chemical based or more toxin based or artificial based over the past 20 years. Years. So is our skin care. I was looking at a product recently that was basically marketed as natural. And they use safe ingredients, clean ingredients. And I was looking, it was a deodorant. I was looking at it and they listed fragrance. And typically fragrance is a really bad thing. It always is a bad thing. They were listing that. They were actually listing. If you clicked on the word fragrance, it would open up what ingredients. And normally brands aren't doing this. They're not disclosing this because it's a trade secret. What's in there? But I was intrigued because they were claiming that they were healthy, a clean, healthy brand. So I clicked on fragrance. And one, that one word had, I think it was 72 chemicals in there. 72. They're calling them safe synthetics. But you have to remember your body's not synthetic and anything synthetic is going to cause some sort of inflammation or irritation inside the body. And this one word, fragrance, had 72 chemicals in it. Now, if you're applying just that one product that's you've been exposed to 72 chemicals. But we gotta stop and consider what other ingredients are in that. So if there's 72 in fragrance, but you've got 20 other, you're look, you're looking at 90 ingredients that are toxic to the body in one single product that you use every day. On top of that, when the packaging is plastic, those plastic ingredients, the plasticizers, even if it's BPA free, will absorb into the product over time. Now you need to add even more chemicals to your toxic soup product. On Top of that, if the very first ingredient is water, then water is also polluted. Most water used in skin care is tap water. So not only do you have drug waste, which includes birth control pills. Hello, anybody out there trying to get pregnant and can't, or hello, ladies out there going through menopause and wondering why your symptoms are so bad. Antidepressants. You know, you got to think about what people are taking. Heart medications, those types of things. Thyroid medications. You know, you're still being exposed to that stuff. But heavy metals, environmental runoff, so even, you know, pesticides, herbicides, that's all in tap water. So now you have to add probably 30, possibly 30 more ingredients that are toxic to that one single product. So the problem is we're overloaded with toxins in our body. And the body itself is made to protect the brain and the vital organs. And when your toxic level in your blood gets too high that your liver can't filter it out fast enough. Here's an interesting thing for women out there that are trying to lose weight and can't lose weight. If your body has. If your bloodstream has too many toxins in it, your body will produce fat. Because the only other way besides getting rid of it, that it can make it healthy for your bloodstream and your brain and your vital organs is to store it somewhere. And your body will produce fat. No matter what your diet is like, no matter how much you exercise, your body will produce fat. To be able to store these toxins, because it has to get it out of your bloodstream.
Well, it's. It's really something. I mean, even. Because when you see water as an ingredient, you would think, oh, it's just water. But it's not just water. It's everything that's in this, like, tap water, because they're usually not using filtered water. So that's a whole different thing to be using water that's never been filtered.
Yeah.
And then we have the, like, you're saying that it's like, you know, you're. It has such an impact even in terms of weight. Now is the.
What I'm wondering is, can you help us connect? Like, okay, say we're getting exposed to these. These skin care products with toxins in them. What might women be noticing in terms of, I mean, fertility? Maybe that's kind of obvious if they're having a hard time getting pregnant. But tell us more. That connection between the skin care products and the toxins and then the hormone issues.
Okay, yeah, no problem. So a lot of these ingredients are hormone disruptors they're neurotoxins or they cause inflammation, including cancer. They're known to cause cancer. So when you're talking about what symptoms might you feel, it's all the symptoms that you're checking the box when you go to your doctor. Brain fog, fatigue, weight gain, inability to concentrate, inability to regulate your blood sugars. All of these types of things are symptoms. And you know, women, you know, for infertility, irregular periods, and this could be even in your menopausal, perimenopausal stage. Irregular periods, mood swings, hot flashes, night sweats. Those are all things that, because these hormone disruptors will, you know, they either mimic the hormone that you're making, they block it, or they will affect the potency of it. So all of the symptoms that you're feeling, because I know we all are told. So we have to get out of the brain space. We've been brainwashed that we have to take a step back and go, okay, just because I'm, say, 45 or 50 doesn't mean I should be feeling this way. Because I remember when I was in my 40s and I had brain fog, or I was actually in my 30s and I had brain fog and fatigue. After I made the switch of skin, my skin care products, I no longer had those symptoms and I flew through menopause. I caught my one day of menopause when I turned 50. I basically had one day of menopause when I was like, oh, interesting. I guess I'm in menopause. I didn't have a single night sweat. I've never had hot flashes. I've never had, like, my weight gain wasn't a problem. I didn't have any problems with weight. All of those things that most women suffer from, I didn't experience them. But I had detoxed and changed my personal care products for 10 years so my body wasn't being exposed or I say under the influence. It's just like drugs and alcohol when you're under the influence, you know, think about all of us drinking, okay? You know, if you've ever had a beer, you know, especially when you were younger, one beer when you first started drinking would make you drunk. You know, couple weeks, months, whatever it is, later, you are now able to drink five beers. Oh, I cannot drink five beers. And, you know, so your body gets used to the effects of drugs, alcohol. But you have to look at these things in skincare as, like, drugs and alcohol. You're under the influence and you have no idea. And when you go to your health Practitioner, you're checking the boxes and they're not looking and saying, okay, let's talk about your diet or let's talk about your skin care and let's see if we can manage some of these symptoms. Get rid of most of these symptoms just by, because food is medicine. It's not just the food you eat, it's the food you put on your skin. So let's see if we can manage those symptoms and let's see what's really going on with your body when we get rid of the things that are causing them. And then we'll decide whether we need to put you on something, do blood work. But no, in our medical system they don't address that. What they do is they go right to, okay, let's get some blood work, let's put you on this pill, let's put you on this cream, let's run these tests. And now you're just in this cycle of treating the symptoms without getting to the root cause. Anytime you detox the body and actually what I say is shut the faucet off. If you aren't going to shut the faucet off. And by that I mean get rid of the toxins you're putting on your body, then you're always going to have to detox. But if you, the easiest way to detox your body is to stop, shut the faucet off, stop putting those things in your body in the first place. That's way easier than trying to constantly detox.
I was thinking that, like, the only time that sometimes I hear a practitioner start to look at skin care products is when someone might be having like an allergic reaction, right? Like sometimes it gets to that point where someone's having like hives and itching and redness and then we start to think, oh, maybe it's something you put on your skin. But likely that's to the point where the toxic load is very high. You know, quite likely. It's, it's some of these other symptoms you're mentioning first. And even then, when, even when someone might be having an allergic reaction to a skin care products, it, it's, it's likely like there, that's, that's only a small piece of it, right? There's an allergic reaction, but the allergic reaction happened because of the toxin. And so there is sort of like that's the only time we're ever even considering this, what we're putting on our skin. But that's not even really looking at the whole big picture with this. And so, yeah, just, you know, to remind everyone, like, it's not just about getting hives that you look at these skincare products, it's probably symptoms that are. You might not have anything showing up on your skin. It's more like what's showing up on the inside of your body. And then some people might start getting hives. But it's not just about the allergy, it's about the toxic load that's leading to the allergy. Right?
Yeah, absolutely. I have a client and I just love her, Rebecca. She's a nurse, so she's in tune with the body and how the body functions. But she was going through my program and three weeks in, she sent me an email.
She has autoimmune disease, narcolepsy, thyroid issues. She's diabetic. And she, you know, she was shocked because the only thing she changed on her, you know, in her daily routine was her skin care. So three weeks in, she was half dosing her narcolepsy and her autoimmune dosages, where they were already in half. Her insulin resistance was getting better. All of her symptoms were getting so much better. And she was blown away at the impact that our skincare products are actually having on our health because nobody's connecting the dots. And everybody, you know, there are some practitioners that do address, you know, clean beauty, but they don't really understand what clean beauty is because about 97% of the products and brands on the market are not clean. And probably about 30% of those are claiming to be clean or natural or healthy brands. So the consumer is left. I actually read a research article about hormone disruptors in skincare and it went through and yes, it's horrible. These are the effects. All the things that we can assume and we know to be true are true about these hormone disruptors and how bad it is. In the conclusion, what they came up with is the recommendation is that it's up to the consumer to know and to do their homework on the products and the brands, because it's not up to the brands. There's no regulation and nothing's going to change. Like, these brands aren't going to change their formulas. They're only going to get worse. So the recommendation was increase your knowledge about skincare. So when I read that, of course, I was like, yes, that's right up my alley. That's what I do. I teach women how to detox their personal care products. Because if you don't shut the faucet off there, then you're just retoxing, increasing your toxic load and Then you're checking all the boxes and now you're in on the hamster wheel, you're in the system and you're on the cycle and it's easier to like, literally, you know, shut the faucet off, stop toxing, retoxing your body every single day.
I've done a lot of detoxes over the years and many of them made me feel a lot worse. Not only that, but I've had a lot of patients come in here, tell me how after doing a detox they have a stomachache and headache and they can't sleep and they're feeling anxious and I'm like, I can't just recommend that my patients do a program that's gonna make them feel worse. So I finally decided to design my own detox program. It's a 14 day detox program that's not like other detox programs out there in several ways. One is that I'm focused on helping you to get the toxins out in a safe and effective way using nutrients, antioxidants and supporting our natural detoxification pathways in the body. Also, I'm helping you to decrease your exposure to toxins by learning the ways that you've been exposed to toxins and how to change your day to day lifestyle to decrease your toxins over time. And I'm helping you to look not just at chemical environmental toxins, but also emotional and energetic toxicity. And yes, it's possible to accomplish all of this in 14 days. I have so many patients who have done the 14 day detox and report back to me how much better they feel. And I think it's also because I help you to know what to eat. You are getting adequate food that tastes good, plus protein shakes that I developed that are good for your body, that your body knows how to use these nutrients and take them in and use them to help you safely detoxify without feeling worse. Also, I help you to balance your blood sugar levels, get better sleep and introduce things like meditation, biofeedback and other types of stress recovery into your day to day routine. So I just am so excited about it. I want to make sure you know about this 14 day detox. I'm going to put the link, you can find it at drdonnie.com forward/detox-program but I'll also put the link below so you can find the 14 day detox program at Dr. Donnie.com I look forward to guiding you through this detox so that you can actually feel better on your way to better health.
Now, a lot of times I'll hear about Environmental Working Group is a place where people can go and research their skincare products and other products. Do you recommend Environmental Working Group or what do you recommend for helping women to do this research that you're saying we need to be doing?
No, there are a couple apps, so. And I've seen a bunch of apps and none of them are good. So they're all recommending products that are still toxic. The EWG think Dirty Yucca, and there's a couple other ones that aren't as well known out there. But the problem is they're not disclosed in hidden toxins. So the water, they don't consider water toxic. So you can have a product in plastic packaging and has water in it. The problem part of the. There's a couple of problems with water. And again, like you mentioned, everybody looks at water as, oh, this is just organic. Like it's, it's natural. But you wouldn't drink tap water. Most people are buying water or filtering their water, and we have to do that for our health. So tap water and water itself is very drying to the skin. So when water is listed as the first ingredient, it's going to be a drying product. I don't care if it's claiming to be a moisturizer, I don't care what else is in it. Water listed as the first ingredient is usually between 50 and 70, sometimes as much as 80 or 90% water. When you're putting that much water on your skin, you're drying it out over time. So water listed on an ingredient list is not hydrating, it's dehydrating to the skin.
Water. I mean, this is because you would think water is hydrating. That's probably why they put it as the first ingredient. But this is so shocking to be like, wait a minute. If you put water on your skin, it's actually drying or dehydrating. So then it's going to make the wrinkles worse and the dryness worse. What's the point, right?
Oh, exactly. And then I thought of my last one. The last one is that when water is listed as an ingredient, because water is in the product, it has to have other ingredients in there, like emulsifiers and heavy preservatives, because bacteria will grow in water. There's going to be fillers, there's going to be thickeners. All of these are ingredients that are toxic to the body. 90% of the time, 99% of the time, they're synthetic and they're toxic. So by the time you're actually getting to the active or the good ingredients. There's no way that those good ingredients are going to do anything good for your skin or your body when there's that many toxins in the product. So that's the problem. And Yucca EWG Think Dirty aren't disclosing the hidden toxins. So something that EWG would give a zero to. Like, you read it, you look at it and you go, oh, it's got a zero rating. It's good for me. I'll buy it. I would give that a 10 on a 0 to 10 scale. Nope, don't. And the good thing about my program and what I do with women, very easy, very quick. I've simplified the whole program, the whole process of detox, detoxifying your personal care products. It's not expensive. It's actually less expensive than what the beauty industry is selling you. It's going to be better for your health, better for your heart, better for your head. And it's actually very easy. You don't have to memorize anything. You never need to refer to the Yucca or EWG apps because I give you the information that you need so that you can make those clean, healthy choices for you and your family.
So just to clarify, and we'll definitely put these links in the notes here with this episode is that you have your book right, as a resource, which is the Beauty's Dirty Secret book. And then you also have a checklist that people can download, the Clean Beauty Checklist. I'm gonna clean beauty checklist.com what I highly recommend.
So the book is good, it's been out for a while, it's not as updated. So what I would recommend is you can, if you want the Clean Beauty checklist, go to clean beautychecklists.com that's a good start and gives you more reference points. But my program is a five week program. It's very affordable and if you click through the links that Donnie has, you'll actually get a 50% discount on it. But it gives you all the information that you need. It's just a five week online course. You get seven days to review it. If you're not happy, you get your money back and you go at your own pace. You have lifetime access. There's literally no reason for anyone to say I can't do this and I simplify it. And if you go through the program, my course, you'll have all the information there at your fingertips in your brain. You never have to refer to anything and this isn't going to get outdated because this is the information that you need that is never going to change. Everything else that happens in the beauty industry moving forward is only going to get worse. The information I'm teaching you is things that you can actually do at home. You can make your own skincare if you want. It's super easy. I have really simple recipes in there to make your own products or I teach you what to buy, what brands I trust and things like that. So it's, it's a, it really is a no brainer for women.
I love that.
I was going to ask you. Yeah, it's like now that you've done all this research, you just know like, okay, use this. That's going to actually help and not cause a problem. Is there anything you can share just as we're talking here that are like, just to get started? Because again, it can be overwhelming when you start to go, how am I going to do this? We have to so many. Even if we include what we put in our mouth and what we put on our skin, that's a long list of personal care products every day. So how do we, what do you recommend for people to just start going ahead with this?
I usually recommend starting with deodorant and dental products because those are usually cheaper and you're not as opposed to throwing something away and replacing it as like a $50 or $60 moisturizer. So I usually say start with your dental and deodorant because those are going to have huge impact. You're using those every single day and they're not as expensive. And you know, the other thing is to start reading your labels, the ingredients, get the marketing jargon, Go directly to the ingredients. And if the ingredients look like chemicals, if you don't recognize them as food, you shouldn't buy it. Don't waste your money. It's only going to make you sick. If it's in plastic, that's another big no, no. If it's in plastic, that's going to take away about 90, probably 96, maybe 95% of the products on the market right there. Plastic is a big no no there. I, you know, literally there's very, very, very few types of products that I, I'm okay with plastic, which, some of them are like the hair products because they're in the shower and if they break, you don't want glass. But there are other alternatives too. So it's very rare that I will personally use plastic for any products that I'm either making or buying. So start looking at what it's packaged in and start reading your labels and start. You know, my, my course is very easy to go through, and I give you all of these answers.
You might as well just do that.
Yeah, it's very simple.
I love it. And I wanted to ask you because also we, like, we get tempted to inject things into our skin, too, like Botox or fillers or. Right. This whole, like, how are we going to be anti aging? And it's being offered more and more. So is there, is there a concern about toxins in those products, too?
Absolutely. They're actually causing premature aging. Botox and fillers. Fillers for a couple of different reasons. They're both a little bit different, but in the end, you're going to prematurely age. Facelifts are the same thing. They're not getting to the root causes of aging skin. I actually have five root causes of aging skin and how to treat that to reverse that. And Botox and fillers are doing nothing to prevent aging. They're actually, because they're so toxic. And Botox itself is a neurotoxin, so it isn't just affecting your skin. It gets reabsorbed and migrates to other areas of the body, and it prevents muscles from moving. So something that's happening to women that's not even being connected to the Botox that they received three weeks ago is heart palpitations or heart arrhythmias. You continue to use Botox and the risk of heart arrhythmias or heart problems will increase because the heart is a muscle. And when you're paralyzing muscle over time, all muscle, it's a family group, so all muscle is going to be affected by Botox, where they. Locally injected, of course, will have the biggest effect. But the heart is a muscle, so you have to remember it's not. And then because it's a neurotoxin and it's. It likes fat tissue. Your brain is nothing but fat and very close to where most of the injections are going for Botox. So there has also been a connection between Botox and early onset of Alzheimer's.
It's so scary when you, when you start to really think about it and to realize that this is, you know, this is like, so often being marketed and talked about and like, oh, this is. This is what we should be doing. And then we start to realize, like, what are we doing here to our bodies with all of these toxins? And these toxins can stay in the body. Right. Once they're in your body. They can stay in the body for decades. Like you said, it's in the fat storage, right? And then it's like it's not. I mean, yes, we're detoxifying all the time, but some of these forms of toxins can stay in the body for decades.
Well, and you can even go deeper than that too. It's not just the fact that they stay in the body, but even when they are detoxed, the imprint, there is a vibrational imprint that is left in the body and that's very hard. And when we think about skin care and you know, I'm very into raising the vibration, my vibration, because I want to attract things that are better for me instead of attracting the things that are, you know, I want to get past. And when you think about skincare, it's just, just like the clothing that's coming, it's coming out. You know, the Lululemon and the other brands that use plastic and how we're absorbing those plastics through our skin from our clothing. The same thing with skin care. Any chemical based skin, skin care and including water is basically dead skin care and has a very low vibration. So it's going to bring your body vibration down. But you start using oils and essential oils that actually have a higher vibration and you're going to bring your vibration up. And a higher vibration is it has more energy, it's better for cell life as opposed to cell death. And you're just going to look better and feel better.
Oh my gosh, I love that. Because we have this structured water in our cells. Right. And that's what you're talking about is it's all based on electrical signaling and we need to have these, these electrical signals keeping the water in our cells in an active, structured state. And that happens through things like being in nature and grounding and drinking filtered water or. Right. It's like, or being, getting some sunshine or sauna. These kinds of things activate the water in ourselves and increase our vibration. So we want to be doing those things. And then you don't want to be doing like to your point, from the very beginning, if you're doing things to benefit your health, you don't want to end up doing stuff that counteracts that. Then you're just working against yourself.
Yeah, for sure, for sure. And it's never too late. Like I don't want the ladies that are listening to feel like, oh my gosh, I'm doomed. I mean, I didn't start this journey until I turned 40. It was a miscarriage. After a miscarriage, you know, I was healthy at the age of 40. I was surprised. I got pregnant right away, but I miscarried. And it was that miscarriage that actually led me to find and discover all of the toxins and the hormone disruptors in personal care products. So, you know, I converted my skin, which, by the way, when I was 40, before I did this, I had. I called it my forest. I had acne all over my face, and my face was extremely.
I had gone on Accutane twice, once in my 20s and once in my 30s, and of course it didn't work. I was, you know, I was symptomatic of everything. I had brain fog. I was exhausted. I didn't look good. I looked toxic. You can see when a person is toxic because it shows on their skin. And I have before and after pictures that I've used of women that have gone through my program and they don't realize that, of course your skin's going to look better when you get rid of toxins. But when you go back and look at the first picture, your before picture, you can literally see the toxic level in the skin when you compare it to the after picture, which is literally like 30 days later. It doesn't take long. So that's the beauty of it, ladies. It doesn't take long. Your body just wants to be healthy, so it's going to try to get rid of toxins. And this detox process happens quickly. If you shut the faucet off, if you stop retoxing all the time and every day, you will get rid of the toxins. Of course, you want to drink plenty of water and you can take binders and some detox type of things. Sauna can help. You know, stuff like that can help, but it's not really going to help if you're just retoxing every day.
That's such a good. Oh, my gosh. I just came back from spending three weeks in the Amazon. I was living in a cabin in the Amazon. And when I'm there, we. We don't. We use like, just baking soda for toothpaste, and we don't use, you know, all the food is organic. And we, you know, set aside any other usual skin care products. And, you know, it's basically like you just go completely into nature to experience nature, and no chemicals, no toxins. And it just reminds me, like, how amazing that is to be able to. Because sometimes when you give yourself a couple weeks, right? Two, three weeks, where you're just like, okay, I'm just going to take a break from all this craziness and all these exposures and give yourself that kind of reset, then everything looks different when you come back in the other side. And that's why I love your beauty reset program, because it is that concept of let's reset.
Right?
Like, and once you go, you don't have to go all the way to the Amazon like me. You can do it from home where you can reset and you can say, hey, let me learn, let me replace. Let me learn how to do this differently and see how I feel and experience that kind of a reset. And then it's now it's integrated into your routine. Right. It's like, now you're not even going to think about it anymore because you've got a new whole routine going on.
Yeah, and I've not, you know, I, I have such great success with the ladies that I've worked with, and they've been so blown away by the fact that, you know, most women, when they think about the, you know, natural beauty products or healthy products, they don't feel like they're going to get results. So I think that's the biggest thing the beauty industry tries to brainwash us in because they don't want you to believe otherwise everybody would switch. They want you to believe you need these chemicals in order to look beautiful. But the oppos actually happens when you, I mean, think about when you eat McDonald's. So I call this fast food. It's. Most of the skincare on the market is just like McDonald's. It's literally McDonald's in a bottle, in a pretty bottle. Whereas if you're eating organic food, you feel good. You eat McDonald's for even three meals straight and you're already. They did that one show super size, wasn't it? And the guy ate like McDonald's or something all the time. And you just watched him deteriorate over just weeks. And so the same thing is happening with our skincare. It's just we're not attuned to it. We don't know that. So that's my, you know, and I thank you so much for bringing me on so I can help, you know, get the message out that you don't have to feel that way, you don't have to spend a lot of money, you don't have to do those things. You literally simplify your life. I don't use many products at all. I don't spend much on my skincare or skincare routine. I do a couple key things and it keeps My skin looking beautiful. I'm 50. I'll be 57 in just a couple weeks. And my skin looks better today than it did in my 30s. By far. It looks so much better than it did in my 30s. And, you know, this can happen for every woman. So the women that I work with are literally shocked at how much better their skin looks, how much healthier, fuller, like they're. It's not even just the skin, but it's the tissue you get. You know, the skin, blood feels better and looks better.
Amazing. Oh, my gosh. Thank you so much for coming to share this all with us and for creating your program. It's so needed. I mean, so many women are struggling with these health issues. We've been talking about whether that's fertility, and you would think, oh, what does skin care have to do with your fertility? But now, you guys know, those of you who've been listening understand why it does have to do with fertility and also with perimenopause post menopause. I mean, and like you said, then it's even going to be helping to prevent other health issues down the line, like even dementia and heart disease and diabetes. So it's like, it's worth it to learn how to use products that are going to help your skin and not work against you by putting toxins into your body. So I'm with you, Trina. I think that this is so important. I'm so glad you're here, and I'm so glad everyone who's listening, I'm happy to answer any questions if you have them. Please feel free to write into us and let us know your questions. And I'll be sure to put the links, as we talked about, to the free Clean Beauty checklist as well as to Trina's Beauty Reset program. Is there anything else, Trina, that you would want to share with everyone?
Oh, no, Donni, thank you so much. And if anybody has any questions for me as well, you can just email me at help@trinafelbert.com I'm also on Instagram. You can, you know, renafelbert. Just my name, but I'm here to support everyone in any way that I can because I was where every one of you was before. I suffered with infertility. I had acne and all the bad things, and my health was bad. And, you know, just a couple, you know, years later in the scheme of life, I feel so much better. And now this is the way I do my nursing care. I. I help women, you know, get to a root cause of why you don't feel so well.
